  1. Yeah "I'm A Hustla"'s a dope beat, Kel Spencer used that for his song "Grindin'" with Tatyana Ali...
  2. Oh damn that's terrible, my thoughts go out to him and his wife...
  3. Nick Cannon should leave the rapping to Will and just do as many movies as he wants to, I honestly wouldn't care if he takes Will's #1 spot in the boxoffice, releasing singles once a year ain't gonna get Nick Cannon much recognition as an mc, nobody remembers his last album....
  4. Yeah there might've been some production for this album that Jazzy Jeff was gonna put on here but Interscope probably couldn't budget for the sampling the way that Columbia did for "Willenium"....
  5. Thanks for the support y'all, I'm gonna keep going towards my shadow dreams going step by step till I get it!
  6. I don't think you need to necessarily perform for them to play your video do you?
  7. Well I read DMX's book and he said that he battled Jay in '96 around the time "Reasonable Doubt" dropped and DMX was still shopping for a deal....
  8. Tyrese ain't no Denzel by any means but he's a decent actor, I liked "Baby Boy" and "Four Brothers"...
  9. btw, I was just checking the okayplayer board and somebody made a "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" appreciation post with peeps callin' it one of the best hip-hop albums of the golden era! :2thumbs:
  10. That's aight if it's just him and his brothers, I was just curious that's all, but if he needs a hype man he could holla at me, lol. In all seriousness though Will should be in Kel's video, they could both make appearances at 106 & Park and Rap City, that'd bring some hype....
  11. Does Kel Spencer really have a record deal or is he just still trying to get picked up somewhere? I know he talks about starting his own label but did he really start one, does he sign mcs? I'd love to get down, I might send an email to him...
  12. I don't think signing to G Unit is gonna help Mase and Mobb Deep that much as that thought it would've, look at how poorly Tony Yayo and Young Buck did with their albums, "The Definition" sold more than those 2 albums combined, LL always has a solid fan base and he's releasing this new album faster than he usually does so it could go platinum plus easily, I think the movie with Queen Latifah next month could bring more fans than usual too 'cause that's probably gonna be a hit, I saw an ad for it yesterday when I was watching TV... LL never had an album sell 10 million but a lot of artists in popular music in any genre might sell like 10 million when they first come out then they fade away quickly, remember how big Ricky Martin used to be? Backstreet Boys anyone, lol? LL was selling 2 million with "Mama Said Knock You Out" while Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer sold 10 million but where are they now? LL's still going platinum while few people hear from MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice... It's better to sell a lil' bit over a large amount of time, then to sell a whole lot in a lil' 'mount of time, LL's built for the marathon....
  13. Perhaps it was a member of Tra-Knox who voted for it :jusmindyabizness:
  14. Tyrese To Release Rap Album By: Alyssa Rashbaum December 20, 2005 Perhaps tired of the R&B life, Tyrese has decided to venture into rap territory with a new album, Alter Ego. The singer/actor, who has released three albums since 1998, will try his hand at rapping with the help of some of hip hop’s finest, including /b> and R. Kelly, according to MTV News. The forthcoming double album will be half rap, half classic Tyrese-style R&B. "I go in tonight with [Robin 'Lady of Rage' Allen] and Yo-Yo, and I’m with Ice Cube on Monday and Tuesday," he told MTV News. "There’s been some incredible momentum, and I couldn’t have asked, or even prayed, for as much support as I’ve gotten on this transition."
  15. I've been looking for a job for months, going 'round my area asking for work, filling out applications, checking the classifieds, etc., but so far I haven't found anything yet and it's been getting me down,. I try to stay up beat and positive so my parents won't worry about me but I wanna work so I could be more independent, I don't wanna have to depend on my parents to help me all time and that's the part that hurts me inside, I could appreciate the support y'all, peace...
  16. I think he's referring the Spurs and Pistons.... Lakers are only a .500 team, well after last night my Bulls ain't even that though so I shouldn't be talking, well starting 0-9 last year was worse... :paperbag: Well the Knicks fans are having a lump of coal for Christmas this year, 6-18, how pathetic and Curry's played most of the games, some of my friends like them so I could always dog them about that!
  17. I'm gonna pin this topic since Kel's a JJFP potna, we need to show him some support, I put it on my wishlist, there's no doubt I'm gettin' this in early '06, I was just downloading some of these tracks, this is raw hip-hop!
  18. So who wants to post over at "Lorettaville"? Everytime I try to drop knowledge there they always don't understand me, I guess paragraphs are like foreign language to them... :stars: btw I wish I had money for this, I'm kinda low on cash these days.... Remember whoever gets this should post a review on that page, maybe Kel Spencer'll see it, we should all put that we wanna see him and Will do a freestyle track together too...
  19. LL Cool J'll outsell G Unit by himself next year, "Mama said knock 50 out"! :pony: :willvspaparazzi: ....
  20. "He's The DJ..." is the greatest album period, "Lost and Found", "Willenium", and "Code Red" are the closest to that....
  21. Kel could've been platinum by now if Will released "Uhhhh" as a single, I don't understand why he didn't have a guest appearance on "Lost and Found" if he helped Will write a few tracks? Will has a lot of friends in the rap industry too, you figure he'd be able to hook Kel up with a guest appearance on an LL Cool J, Nas, Public Enemy, or Jay-Z album... Hopefully when JJFP go on tour they bring Kel Spencer wit them, this mc needs to get more exposure than what he's been getting, the one or two songs I heard from him shows that he could outspit all those 106 & Park rappers.... btw, He's been on about 100 of underground mixtapes on the NY circuit according to his bio, he should sell them on his site if he were smart, he needs somebody like Tim to help him update his site, lol...
  22. Yeah 2002 was a s*** year period, "Born To Reign" was far from the worst album, yes there's nobody out there with a perfect discography, every great recording artist has dropped a weak album, but if they're great they always come back strong and that's what Will did here.... Now I don't get how y'all could say that the beats on "Lost and Found" sounded the same? I don't forget how we'd all say how great production it was when we thought Jazzy Jeff did it, you have to be music on what it sounds like not always who does it! I mean the weakest beat on the album was probably done by Jazzy Jeff like y'all stated there, I think Freshmen held their own on producing some solid tracks, much better than all that commercial production out there now, we'd like another "Willenium" production but that might cost too much money, that album had at least 100 samples on it, it's harder to make those type of albums these days unless your name is Kanye West even though his production sounds more towards Trackmasters than Jazzy Jeff... Will had a bigger budget to do that when his previous album sold 10 million....Think of this way though acting has kept money in his pocket where he'll always be able to afford to release an album to the public, a lot of rappers his age can't say that, you know who, lol.... The one thing that'd really get Will more street credability is if he put money out to establish his Overbrook label and sign all these dope mcs the same way Dr. Dre signed wack mcs to lose credability so I think Overbrook could put Aftermath out of buisiness and put an end to these studio gangstas, people'll calling Will the pope of rap, lol...
  23. Hey I actually listen to that album once every few months or so, it's not that bad of an album y'all make it out to be, I mean the 1st track alone is better than what 50 Cent has done since he got popular, Will just went too left field on it, he needs to stick to the formula of making aggressive tracks, that's more like an r&b album...
  24. Comparing "Born To Reign" to leftover cafeteria food is cold, Will'd cry if he heard it! :paperbag:
  25. Maybe we could convert some Lorettas to some good music... :willvspaparazzi:
