  1. That's why I think Will should battle some of those gangsta rap gimmicks that hurt his popularity instead of being friends with them 'cause then everyone would truely see that he's the most skilled in the game now but on the other hand those battle tracks might not get on black radio so they might end up winning that way, lol.
  2. Eminem Impersonator Kills Woman, Stuffs Her In Suitcase POSTED: 10:38 am EST December 2, 2005 LONDON -- An Eminem impersonator who beat a woman to death and stuffed her body in a suitcase is facing life in prison. Christopher Duncan, 21, has the same hair style and tattoos as the rapper. He pleaded guilty in London on Thursday to killing 26-year-old law student Jagdip Najran. A prosecutor said they met at a karaoke bar last year. Duncan took Najran back to his apartment and beat her over the head with an iron baseball bat until she fell unconscious, then stuffed her body into a suitcase. Duncan reportedly told police he was high on Ecstasy and LSD at the time. In the video for Eminem's "Stan," an obsessive fan ties up his girlfriend, throws her in the trunk of his car and drives it over a bridge. Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press
  3. I think that "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" Remix would've been more beneficial for Big Pun and Cam'ron, Will was the most popular rapper then from the original...
  4. I think the reason why LL Cool J might get on black radio still and Will doesn't is 'cause Will has been more passionate about criticising gangsta rap and LL hasn't really done that but if LL starts making more statements like he did in that article when he was interviewed at hip-hop honors he might not get airplay anymore on black radio either.
  5. http://blog.jazzyjefffreshprince.com/2005/...-isnt-it-a-hit/ I found the blog that Tim wrote there and added some my comments I made in this thread plus came up with a couple more to get my point across better: "that’s the problem with a lot of rappers they do the same thing all the time, will’s always been a versatile mc, he could outrhyme any of those so called “real rappers” that get heavy airplay on black radio all day, will doesn’t put himself into a corner to do the same thing all the time, he stands at the top alone and deserves more credit by his peers. i wonder if ll cool j would start being ignored by black radio if his movies started doing as well as will’s movies?"
  6. Yeah Will represents the "casual street" peeps that ain't involved with gangs or drugs who find other ways to survive and raises their families, that's keepin' it real too. All those gangsta rappers make commercial songs too so I don't understand how people could diss Will for makin' "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" like he's the only one to make those type of songs, if they heard Will's albums they'd see that most of his songs don't sound like that, that's why I think Will's haters are ignorant 'cause they don't know anything about him. If he's a sellout I can't think of anybody that's real, he's not afraid to speak his mind and I think a lot of rappers are too scared worried about if people'll diss them and they're just worried about selling records, he has the balls to diss gangsta rappers glorifying a fake image when most rappers are kissing up to them right now and that's the definition of being real to me. I'll continually bump JJFP with pride no matter how many fools around me bump G Unit!
  7. "Big Willie Style" was the album that got me into JJFP when I was 12 years old, that'll always have a special place in my heart! :2thumbs:
  8. "But Will if you come too high/that'll alienate folks and they won't buy it!" is such a real quotable, I mean Will released a pure hip-hop single that has been alienated by those that want to hear another "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" but yet so-called "black" stations don't support it either, Will's more "street" than most of those they play on there in my opinion, these so called gangstas get major airplay talkin' 'bout how hardcore they are when they hide behind bodyguards in real life, Will don't front like that. It seems like the commercial rap media has sold out on Will, everything he says or does seems to alienate him from them, if he criticises the state of the rap game or if him continually to not curse in his songs when basically everyone else in the rap game does they put him down for it. They used to be kissing his ass back in the days, now they're too busy talking about how great Em and 50 are while millions are like sheep and believe the hype, but when Will's the last one standing they'll gradually come around! Will was one of the few that made it possible for rappers to get airplay anywhere so it's sad to see how they've sold out on him, he shouldn't have to complain about not getting airplay.
  9. Slick Rick and Biz Markie ain't popular anymore, Mary J. Blidge always gets a lot of airplay so I think if "Tell Me Why" doesn't get on black radio nothin' will
  10. Yeah there wasn't enough half naked chicks, ice, trucks with rims, and throwback jerseys like all popular rap videos are supposed to have, Will shoulda made the video like "Big Pimpin'". :bat: Why didn't even mainstream pop radio play it? Did they think it was too "hard" for Will to do? I bet even if Will releases "Pump Ya Brakes" with Snoop black radio still won't play it, do you think they'd played "Party Starter" if Luda had a verse in it and not just produced it?
  11. Juelz Santana's "Whistle Song" is 'bout just as catchy as "Switch" but it gets a lot of airplay on Hot 97, I swear if Jay-Z made "Party Starter" Hot 97'd play it all day and play it years ahead like they play "Big Pimpin'" still once in a while, they play everything by Luda too so I wonder why they wouldn't play "Party Starter" especially since Luda produced it? It's probably a label thing, it seems that everything on Def Jam and Aftermath gets the most airplay, they got a lot of paper so they probably pay radio stations to play their artists, that's why LL gets airplay now even though he don't curse on his recent songs but they diss Will for not cursing and call him soft, if he was on Def Jam they wouldn't say that I bet, JJFP shoulda been on Def Jam instead of Jive when they started their career, maybe that'd helped their credability in the long run. I think I might make a blog blasting black radio for ignoring Will, if the media in general wasn't so resistant in playing Will's songs and he was on the cover of hip-hop mags instead of 50 and Kanye, "Lost and Found" would've been the highest selling album this year, it's amazing that Will continues recording even though he constantly gets hated on and they all say he should just stick to movies...
  12. What up y'all I've been listening occasionally over the past couple months to Hot 97 and see if they'd play "Party Starter" but they didn't play it while they play all 50's watered down crap a million times that makes "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" sound hardcore, I don't get why they're so resistant to Will all the time, it's dissapointing that they ignored "Party Starter" 'cause it was the rawest hip-hop single that came out recently.
  13. :word: They'll probably lose by Christmas, maybe even tomorrow, the Broncos were like 13-0 and lost to the 3-10 Giants in '98 so the Titans could pull off the victory even though I think they're 3-8....
  14. Yeah I like Will's movies too but I could live a couple years without a new movie but I can't stand waiting 3 years for a new album, I don't like it that more people watch his movies than buy his albums now and them saying that he should stick to acting and hang up the mic, I wouldn't mind if he did the opposite though personally, he needs to show more dedication to music like he said he's gonna on "Lost and Found", let Jada do more movies... btw. Will and Martin should do a fresh new comedy, not another "Bad Boys" movie even though the 2 movies are great but everybody does sequels now....
  15. I think "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" is the greatest by far that makes Will a legend alone but "Lost and Found" is probably the most personal album he's done, "Willenium" got a great ol' school/new school blend to it, "Code Red" got a timeless feel to it, and "Big Willie Style" is probably the most feel good album ever, it's hard to favor one over the other even though I don't think he'll top "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper", Will's definately one of the more versatile mcs of all-time that has standed the test of time with people still being interested in him 2 decades in the game, not many could say that, he always does something different with each album, it's hard to deny him being a legend.
  16. Green Day was #2, Mariah's "We Belong Together" was #1.
  17. Well with all this free time before Will shoots this film there could be a JJFP tour and recording of an album! :yeah: btw, That's great to hear Michael Mann's directing another film for Will too, hopefully this is one of Will's last films...
  18. That's great news, too bad "Party Starter" didn't make it though, btw I'm watching it right now and they just showed it.
  19. That's awesome to see all the props there, I'm gonna check it out, we should spread the word 'bout this mixtape to other hip-hop websites. I was checking Kel's website and notice that they don't sell it there yet, in his bio it mentions how he was on all these mixtapes, he should sell them there too.
  20. We should bump this post up when the Colts lose in the playoffs.... :kekeke:
  21. Murder Inc. Rap Mogul Acquitted in N.Y. By DAVID CARUSO Associated Press Writer NEW YORK - A rap mogul known for his gangster persona and for producing chart-topping acts under the Murder Inc. label was acquitted Friday of federal charges alleging he laundered drug money for a notorious crack kingpin. Irving Lorenzo and his brother Christopher were found not guilty of money laundering at a trial closely followed by some of the music industry's biggest stars. Supporters erupted in cheers as the jury's decision was announced, and a few jurors asked to meet with the brothers to hug and congratulate them. "We did it! We did it!" Irving Lorenzo shouted as his lawyers carried him out of the courthouse. "In this case, they had it 100 percent wrong," he said. In the courtroom, supporters of Lorenzo, who goes by the name Irv Gotti, included Jay-Z, Fat Joe and Russell Simmons, along with Ja Rule and Ashanti, platinum-selling artists signed by Murder Inc. Ja Rule had labeled the case "a war against hip hop." The brothers could have faced up to 20 years in prison. In closing arguments, prosecutor Carolyn Pokorny told jurors that the Lorenzos struck an illicit deal in the late 1990s with Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, who she described as "one of the biggest, baddest, most dangerous drug lords in New York City." The defense countered that the brothers were victims of guilt by association. "There's nothing illegal about knowing a criminal, about socializing with a criminal, even doing business with a criminal, unless you commit a crime," said defense attorney Gerald Shargel. "Irv and Chris Lorenzo committed no crime." McGriff allegedly funneled more than $1 million in drug money, much of it from Baltimore, through Murder Inc. in return for serving as the Lorenzos' protector and enforcer. A government witness who once worked at the label testified that he saw a "huge amount" of money delivered in shopping bags and a shoe box in 2000. Prosecutors said Murder Inc. cut tens of thousands of dollars in checks for sham corporations controlled by McGriff, including a movie company that produced a straight-to-video film called "Crime Partners 2000." The label also covered his expenses as he traveled around the country masquerading as an entertainment executive, Pokorny said. The defense portrayed Irving Lorenzo as a legitimate businessman who went from rags to riches by taking the Gotti name - an ode to the late mob boss - as a sales ploy and teaming with Def Jam, a subsidiary of Universal Music, to start Murder Inc. He invested in McGriff's movie because he was an old friend from their Queens neighborhood, Shargel said. "Even if Supreme McGriff was the biggest drug dealer in the world, and even if 'Crime Partners' was the worst film in the history of American entertainment, there is nothing illegal about giving backing to a movie," he said. Murder Inc. changed its name to The Inc. last year after executives said the label's image was hurt by the case.
  22. Shaq might not be close the greatest lyricist in the world but he's the only NBA rapper that went platinum, that'd be the equivalent of Game making the NBA All-Star team one day. :kekeke: Well if Tony Parker's raps suck, at least we won't all be able to understand it unless we know French, lol.
  23. maybe they should be blasted in a blog... :bat:
  24. Shaq's better than all the G Unit rappers though! :willvspaparazzi:
