  1. 50 Cent reminds me of Fat Joe in a way, he was a dope underground rapper too but I don't really like his commercial stuff that much although I do think Fat Joe is better than 50 right now but Fat Joe's humble and I could respect that from him 'cause he knows that he ain't the greatest lyricist in the world so he won't diss other rappers unless they diss him first, he wasn't gonna make a song dissin' 50 if 50 didn't open his mouth about Fat Joe 'cause Fat Joe don't like to beef. 50 needs to do the same and stop trying to beef, if he learns to shut his mouth and just make songs maybe he won't have so much criticism. 50 probably also realises that he don't wanna be like Vanilla Ice so he's probably trying to show that he does care about the hip-hop culture while he still has fame, Vanilla Ice is being real now but it's too late for people to see that since nobody pays attention to him anymore, it's a short window of opportunity, but that's why I think Will's the greatest 'cause he always stays true to the game all the time.
  2. :kekeke: :bat: :willvspaparazzi: Anyways speaking of 50 Cent I saw they had a special on him today called "Life & Rhymes of 50 Cent" and he performed KRS' "The Bridge Is Over" and gave KRS props, first he gives props to Will in one of his songs now he does this, maybe that's a sign that 50's gonna turn it around soon and be a dope mc since he respects the legends.
  3. If Will released "Party Starter" as the 1st single and performed it as much as "Switch" I think "Lost and Found" would've gone platinum months ago and "Party Starter" would've hit #1.
  4. Playahata Times: Sports Section NBA to Institute Language Code WEB EXCLUSIVE By Bruce Banter, PH Staff Writer NEW YORK — NBA Commissioner David Stern said Monday in a league wide memo that he was amending the memo on the player's new dress code to include "language restrictions". The commissioner announced that players would not be allowed to use the "N" word as a term of endearment or in casual conversations. The commissioner re-iterated that his talk about professionalism, representation, accessibility to fans and community service is not only what we see but also what players say, re-enforcing his earlier mandate and making it clear he feels his league has an image problem. Ignoring the language code is not an option. "Teams and players will be subject to fines" for violating the language code, said NBA spokesman Tim Frank. "Repeat offenders will be subject to suspensions." It doesn't matter if you are repeating the lyrics to a gangsta rap song or greeting a teammate in a friendly manner, the word nigga in any of its slang forms will not be tolerable. This is not the street, this is a business and players should be careful about what type of music they listen to while at work, if you cant surf for porn while working for Microsoft, you cant use pornographic language at work." Stern said we want to stop this before they start calling managers and coaches nigga" Some image consultants say it's a smart move. "How you speak creates first impressions," said Paul McGruder, who heads Powerful Presence, an image consultant firm in Pebble Beach, Calif. "For the league, it needs to be controlled. One bad apple can ruin things for the whole league. Player Reaction "At the rookie transition (meeting), they showed a graph of fans' perspectives on sports, and our image is the lowest in all sports — football, hockey, baseball. If this is going to change the image that people have, that's good." -Deron Williams, Utah Jazz "This sh!t is fu$%ed up, if I wanna call Chris Weber my NIG, dawg, homie or whatever, that ain't nobody business - even white players is saying what's up Nigga. Its all good now, it don't hurt no more cause we rich now, this ain't slavery days." - Allen Iverson, Philadelphia 76ers "For game days, it's cool. But just for a normal practice and traveling to the next city for a game, I don't think it's necessary. We're just traveling. You should be able to say whatever you want. If you're on IR and on the bench, you need to be able to just talk freely as long as you don't say that about fans **** should be cool cause we entertainers and they use the word in movies."- Ron Artest, Indiana Pacers http://www.playahata.com/pages/satires/satire_current.htm
  5. I don't think "Pursuit Of Happiness" is gonna be released until almost a year from now so I doubt that he's promoting that already, I wouldn't rule out a surprise performance though.
  6. How much did Rob Thomas' album sell and did he have any top 10 pop hits this year? I'm not quite sure how many people with gold albums won awards in the popular music category, I think Will is the underdog pick but at least he got nominated.
  7. :yeah: :word: I think this is one of the best intro tracks of all time!
  8. 50'll most likely win, he was the 1st artist since The Beatles to have 4 songs in the top 10 on the pop charts, 50 is the new king of pop unfortuately! :paperbag:
  9. Yeah that's why they collab with J-Lo then right? Well Will released "Party Starter" that was produced by Luda but it didn't help sales that much... :hmm: btw, Will's supposed to be producing a movie for TI and Big Boi so hopefully they'll collab on the soundtrack. I don't know if I'd want Will to collab with Snoop again, Snoop's verse on "Pump Ya Brakes" was kinda weak and basically every album he did since "Doggystyle" sucks, I like his guest appearances better than his albums now but even they're starting to get weak, he should think about hanging up the mic, I wouldn't mind Will being on Slick Rick's and Biz Markie's next albums but that'd help their sales more than his. I think the only way Will's sales could improve if he was on the 50 Cent and Black Eyed Peas albums that sell 5 million but Will'd lose all the hip-hop credability that he has.
  10. I forgot to mention DJs: Grandmaster Flash Jam Master Jay DJ Premiere Cut Creator Spinderella Terminator X
  11. Jagged Edge feat Rev. Run "Let's Get Married"(Remix)
  12. I thought you could only have 4, well if I could add more than I'll also add: KRS-ONE Ice Cube Treach Wyclef Jean Kurtis Blow Aceyalone MC Lyte Rev. Run DMC
  13. I have a feelin' he won't be back, he probably just wants somebody to send him the song and then bounce... :pony:
  14. Best MC: LL Cool J 2Pac Slick Rick Queen Latifah
  15. "Party Starter" was a perfect single and video to release to display his skills as a rapper, it's a shock that it wasn't a big hit considering that it was produced by Ludacris who's one of the most popular rappers out there. I don't think the people like Black Eyed Peas or 50 Cent that outsold Will are considered "real" rappers, those 2 songs "Window Shopper" and "My Humps" that're getting heavy airplay right now have no lyricism whatsoever in them, "Switch" has even more lyricism than those 2 combined and that was his worst lyrically on "Lost and Found". He needed to have more tracks like that if he wanted more people to buy it, this album does win back a lot of credability in hip-hop, the best lyricists don't have high sales but they get respect and I think Will's getting a lot of respect for this album and proves that he has many more albums left in him, I think the best is yet to come...
  16. I think some hip-hop fans would be skeptical about Will recording with Kanye 'cause everybody in the industry's collabing with Kanye 'cause he's the hot "brand name" producer out there now, they'd just say Will's hopping on the Kanye West bandagon for a hit record but despite what critics might say it'd be an interesting collab to see happen, I'd prefer it happened on one of Kanye's future albums though so that way it'll appear that Kanye's asking Will to collab not the other way around, it wouldn't kill me if it never happened though...
  17. You don't think what Puffy's doing to the Lox is shady though? The only difference between him and Suge Knight is that he tries sugarcoating that he cares about other people but he only cares about himself and his ego, he signed artists for his benefit, not theirs, he's destroyed his artists careers on Bad Boy the same way Suge Knight did with Death Row.
  18. Party Starter's been dead dry already though, there was nothin' to milk to begin with! :willvspaparazzi:
  19. Looks like Suge Knight was right what he said about Puffy years ago mentioning Puffy dancing in all the videos of his artists and yelling over their records 'cause that's what he does, he takes the spotlight away from them, he tries to hide it off like he's a nice guy but it's obvious it's all about Puffy, Puffy, Puffy. All these stupid making the band episodes are basically done to give him more airtime than it is to introduce new artists 'cause when he signs them he shelve'll them and put out his own album. He exploited Biggie too much too in my opinion, having tributes for Biggie is great but come on every event Puffy attends he does it?! It seems to be his marketing strategy to sell more records more than a tribute in my opinion and it has worked, his biggest hits sample Biggie's voice, hmm...?
  20. I found this about the Diddy-Lox beef over publishing rights: The Lox and Diddy Square Off On Radio By Nemesis Date: 11/16/2005 10:05 pm Even though The Lox and Sean “Diddy” Combs seemingly made peace after performing at the Jay-Z and Nas performance truce last month, the former Bad Boy rappers’ long-running complaints against the mogul have re-surfaced. On Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 radio show, The Lox members Jadakiss and Styles P made a passionate, aggressive plea for their publishing and autonomy from Combs, who they claim owns half of their collective publishing. “Imagine working for years working for years, hard work and somebody that has nothing to do with that is getting the bulk of it. You’d be totally, utterly frustrated. And, you tryin’ to get around it for years and you call about it with lawyers, but people are too powerful,” said Style P, alluding to Combs’ influence. The Lox released their debut, Money, Power, Respect, in 1998, but departed Combs’ Bad Boy Records after orchestrating the legendary “Free The Lox” campaign. Styles, Jadakis and Sheek Louch, who was absent at the New York radio station, then joined the Ruff Ryders under the Interscope banner. The group recently vowed that they would no longer record for their label, Interscope Records, due to issues with company brass and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s apparent power with the company. “This ain’t no varmint talk – this is real life,” said Jadakiss. Eventually, Sean “Diddy” Combs called from his Manhattan office to confront The Lox and counter their claims. “If somebody is getting in the way of you expressing yourself, you can come get at me directly,” said Diddy from the phone. “We’re businessmen. We’re all mature adults here. Y’all sit on this interview and talk as long as you want to talk or you can take the invitation I extended before. Its not even getting there -You getting on the radio, whatever tactic – I’m not your enemy. Don’t sit here and portray that Puff took something from y’all.” Immediately, Jadakiss retorted, “Well, what is it then? What do you call it? We can’t handle it any other way dealing with lawyers and you know that. So don’t get on the radio and act like a tough guy.” The conversation degenerated to the point where none of the parties statements were nearly incomprehensible. “I’m a grown a** man,” said Diddy. “You a coward,” Jadakiss responded. “You a thief,” followed Styles. A seemingly frustrated Diddy eventually hung up the phone as The Lox continued to vent their grievances to Martinez and the listening “We want our publishing, dog, and we got a right to that. Its been years now,” Styles P shrieked. “We been through seven lawyers and all kinds of things.” Eventually, Mase and Lil’ Cease also joined into the fray and Biggie’s publishing became topical as well as Shyne’s jail term. After the screaming and bickering died down, Jadakiss and Styles said they would be willing to speak to Combs if they could initially avoid middlemen and council. “At the least we want to sit down and see what we can work out without running each other in circles and telling you to call somebody and they you telling them you don’t know nothing about it,” Kiss said.
  21. Big Boi's releasing a compilation album next Tuesday called "We Got Your Purp Vol. 2" if you want somethin' to hold you over until the Outkast album drops, I'm gonna check out for that, he's supposed to be doing a movie with TI next year that'll be produced by FP.
  22. I liked Xzibit in "XXX 2: State Of The Union" that he co-starred with Ice Cube during the summer, the soundtrack was pretty dope too, I especially like that he did a cover with Korn in paying homage to Public Enemy's "Fight The Power on there. He ain't no Will Smith in acting of course but I think he's closer to that than 50 Cent and Nelly who just suck in whatever they do, Xzibit's dope in my book.
  23. That's dope to hear that, I like how Game always gives props to the ol' school too, he's trying to bring the throwback gangsta rap back with songs that have messages like "Dreams", I think that'll be furthered displayed better now that he ain't rollin' with 50 Cent anymore. btw, it's interesting how Game played ball with Baron Davis, I think he has his own film company himself, it's funny how ball players wanna be entertainers and entertainers wanna be ball players.
  24. 'Xzibit Is A Really Good Actor,' Aniston Says As He Holds Gun To Her Head 'They're both really fantastic actors,' Clive Owen says of 'Derailed' co-stars X and RZA. by Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Jennifer Aniston (MTV News) Jennifer Aniston has nothing but praise for Xzibit's acting skills — and all he had to do was hold a gun to her head. "First of all, you'd think that this guy, holding a big old gun at your head ..." Aniston said, referring to a scene in which they both appear in "Derailed" (see "Xzibit Insists He Had Nothing To Do With Brad And Jennifer's Split"). "[but] he was so afraid that he was hurting me, and I kept saying, 'Just go for it!' I felt like he had the hesitation every once in a while. "He's really one of the sweetest guys on the planet," she continued. "He's a really good actor." "They're both really fantastic actors," Clive Owen said of his co-stars Xzibit and RZA. "The stuff they do in the movie is fantastic. You know, the relationship I've got with RZA in the movie is one of the key relationships. RZA's a very, very smart and talented guy." Vincent Cassel, who plays a criminal in the flick, says he's been a fan of both X and Wu-Tang for years. "It was interesting," he said. "I was surprised at how good they were in the movie and how humble they were. It's like, suddenly you don't have rap stars coming on the set — you have actors trying to make it the best they can. I really liked that humility about both of them." This report is from MTV News.
  25. There could be some truth for Puffy cheating Biggie of the money he earned 'cause The Lox were just on Hot 97 today claimin' that Puffy's been cheating them of millions of dollars 'cause he controls their publishing.
