  1. Yeah it's dope how people're backing up Will there, these quotes explain it all right here, the whole rap industry could ether Bow Wow, every rapper except 50 Cent, Mase, Mobb Deep and the G Unit groupies is more "real" than him he should just go there with all those wack rappers, his rhymes are garbage that he doesn't even write, I think everyone on this board could beat him in a battle: "Hmmm lets see Will Smith is a big time movie star worth over $100 million and bow wow is a rapper whose probably made $5,000 in his career. Poor Will" "Yep, he's hardcore, thats why he collabed with Ciara and Omarian. He no bubble gum rapper, nope." "Call me when Bow Wow write a better verse then Will Smith. This cat is so gassed rite now it's crazy. He really think he's hard and I hope that thought don't get him shot in his face somewhere acting like he's real or been thru something other than dancin wit Jermaine." "bow wow is full of s***" "The same person who has J.D. writing his rhymes. He need a tall glass of bleach on the rocks for saying that." 'Someone is washing his brain and making him do this… Or its another poor effort to come out of that “lil bow wow” image and trying to pretend to be "hard" or "grown"… I really don’t know what image they are trying to give him or he is trying to take on… but it isn't working. He will never be played in my whip! But to give Bow Wow the benefit of a doubt – maybe he is trying to say he and the folks he mentioned are the only ones selling and putting up big numbers Which is very true but very fckn sad!!!" :word:
  2. It was Bow Wow who had to nerve to call Will a bubblegum rapper when he watered down this classic! :paperbag: I think it was for the soundtrack of his movie "Like Movie" where he was playing on an NBA team I think so maybe that's why he brags about scoring on the NBA stars 'cause he did in the movie but still it was wack, is it just me or does every platinum rapper coming out now does a movie? Back in a days you only had a few like Will, LL, and Ice Cube but now it's gotten out of hand and most of them need to try working on their day job first, lol.
  3. He didn't mention his ghostwriter Jermaine Dupri either, he always kisses JD's butt in all of his interviews so this might not be authentic but it doesn't matter if he said it anyway, maybe if he was putting out anything that appeals to adults then maybe I'll take his opinion serious, he wasn't born when JJFP were first on the scene anyway.
  4. I was just watching the Lakers-Sixers game on ESPN and they were playing "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" in the stadium during a timeout. :yeah:
  5. Bow Wow follows everybody when it's time to rap, he even admits that he has Jermaine Dupri and TI write most of his rhymes for him, he ain't an mc, bottomline, he's just another pop rap gimmick that only has lil' girls think he's the greatest but when they get older they'll think that he's wack and his career'll be over, lol. I mean this kid makes Eminem sound like KRS-ONE and y'all know how much I don't like Eminem.
  6. Yeah this ain't really surprising, most of the youth today have no love for the ol' school artists that paved the way for them. I was thinking that Bow Wow had some potential to be a better mc since he said he looks up to Will but now that he says he looks up to 50 Cent I lost whatever lil' respect I had for him, he hasn't made an album better than "Born To Reign" let alone "Lost and Found" and he never will, he said that Will ain't real but hey if it wasn't for Will Bow Wow and any of these other punk asses that diss Will wouldn't have any role in films like they do now. I think he's only made a handful of good songs anyway at this point. He's probably trying to join the G Unit bandwagon and start making gangsta rap albums, that wouldn't surprise me, btw I remember 50 Cent dissin' Bow Wow in "Wanksta" sayin' that "he got guns bigger than Bow Wow".
  7. Bow Wow thinks 50's real but Will ain't? I don't think many people over 18 take Bow Wow seriously as a rapper anyway though. :stickpoke:
  8. Looks like Atlantic is giving Little Brother no promotion 'cause it sold less than 50,000 albums, it's unfortunate that they're trying to get some exposure but they just ain't getting it, I think that their album is probably the best album that came out since "Lost and Found", everyone here should pick that up.
  9. Sure this "Lost and Found" album by Will might've not done as well as it should've but considering how badly his ol' school peers Public Enemy and Rev. Run are doing with their new albums sales wise not even selling 5,000 albums in the first week that makes it even it more amazing that Will was able to go gold 'cause they were selling as much as JJFP was back in the day and now it seems like not many pay attention to them anymore, it could easily been that way with Will too with this album.
  10. Hey those are my favorite lines on that track too, lyricism at its best right there. :word:
  11. I think it's people in our young generation altogether that don't know about history period, not just young rappers coming out.
  12. Well most club songs ain't really appropriate for all ages to listen to unless it's done by people like JJFP, MC Hammer, and Run-Dmc 'cause most of them club songs by today's mcs are only about blunts, violence, and hoes which isn't suitable for young audiences even though it's all over TV and radio where mostly kids watch and that needs to be straightened out. There's quite a difference in content between 50 Cent's "In Da Club" and Will's "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" since 50's talkin' about how Dre's "rollin' that weed up" and Will ain't ever talkin' about that when he says he only bites cigars but don't light 'em.
  13. Is there an article of this or do you know him personally? :stickpoke: This gets me upset that most celebrities show only the negative side of themselves and they hide when they give to charity or do something of a positive nature, that's something they shouldn't be afraid to show 'cause that's what'd be a positive influence instead of making people think that they're negative.
  14. I was reading Entertainment Weekly today and it mentions that LL Cool J's new album called "My Favorite Flavor" is gonna drop in February '06 with production from Trackmasters and Scott Storch, is gonna feature Mary J. Blidge, Ginuwine, and 112.

  16. I found a list of albums scheduled to come out next year and later this year, it'll be interesting to hear Slick Rick's comeback album: http://www.slumz.boxden.com/showthread.php?t=449144 I've been kinda sleeping on getting current albums this year, I probably only got about 10 if even that, most of the other stuff I got this year is pre-2005, the end of this year and beginning of next year releases look more promising than what's been out lately.
  17. Mcgrady's out 3 weeks: Rockets G-F McGrady has back woes, could miss three weeks November 5, 2005 HOUSTON (Ticker) - Houston Rockets superstar swingman Tracy McGrady has a back strain and could be sidelined three weeks. McGrady, who has a history of back problems, is inactive for Saturday's game against the New Orleans Hornets due to back spasms. However, a team spokesman indicated McGrady could be out longer. The two-time scoring champion officially is listed as day to day and will continue to be evaluated. Veteran Derek Anderson started at forward in place of McGrady, who scored 23 points in Houston's season-opening win over Sacramento. The 6-8 McGrady is in his ninth NBA season and second with the Rockets. He was sixth in the league in scoring at 25.7 points per game last season, adding averages 6.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.73 steals in 78 games. In 566 games with Toronto, Orlando and Houston, McGrady has averaged 22.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists. The five-time All-Star won scoring titles in 2003 and 2004 with Orlando.

  19. Well Mourning's gonna get more playing time since Shaq's out for 2-4 weeks so I put Mourning on my fantasy team now, hopefully he plays like he did in the playoffs last year for them or else they're in trouble, it's early in the season though. Updated: Nov. 4, 2005, 1:36 PM ET Shaq travels with Heat, may miss 2-4 weeks ESPN.com news services MIAMI -- Heat center Shaquille O'Neal flew with his team to Milwaukee on Friday, but is likely to miss two to four weeks with a sprained right ankle, the Miami Herald reported Friday. O'Neal The team said O'Neal, a 12-time All-Star was still listed as day-to-day. He received treatment Friday morning before joining the Heat for their afternoon flight to Milwaukee, where they'll play the Bucks on Saturday night. O'Neal was injured in Miami's 105-102 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night. He was getting in position for an offensive rebound when he stepped on Ron Artest's foot and rolled the ankle midway through the fourth quarter. X-rays were negative, but the 7-foot-1, 340-pound O'Neal left the arena on crutches. Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said after the game that he expected O'Neal "to miss some time," and teammates seemed resigned to playing without their center for at least a couple of games. O'Neal did not speak with reporters, and the team had no media availability before traveling on Friday. "He's the most dominant player in the game," Heat forward Udonis Haslem said Thursday night. "If you don't have him it definitely hurts you. At the same time, the other guys have the opportunity to step up." Only two games into the season, injury problems are already piling up for Miami. Projected starting small forward James Posey will probably miss a few more games because of an injured thumb, reserve forward Shandon Anderson has been sidelined by back spasms and isn't traveling with the team and backup center Michael Doleac hasn't made his season debut yet because of an injured calf. If O'Neal doesn't start on Saturday, the Heat will probably go to Alonzo Mourning, with undrafted rookie Earl Barron the likely choice to be the first center off the bench. O'Neal averaged 15 points and six rebounds in Miami's first two games. He missed nine regular-season games and two playoff games last year because of various injuries; the Heat went 8-3 without their starting center. "We've got enough firepower to win without him," Miami guard Dwyane Wade said. "If one person goes down, the other guys have to step up." The Associated Press contributed to this report
  20. I got rid of Dampier who only scored 3 points in 2 games and picked up Mcdyess yesterday.

  22. Antoine Jamison had a big game last night scoring 29 points! :2thumbs:
  23. Here's more info: 'U Can't Touch This?' Actually, Maybe You Can MC Hammer selling catalog to pay off debt. by Gil Kaufman Remember when MC Hammer used to brag about how "U Can't Touch This?" Well, times change. Now, not only can you actually touch this (whatever it is), you can own it. The balloon-pantsed MC, who turned the world on with his fancy footwork and a Rick James-sampling hip-pop hit 15 years ago, is selling one of the last remnants of the good old days. No, it's not the huge fleet of cars (that's gone) or the $12 million gilded castle in Fremont, California (that went for $5 mil a while ago). It's his songs, or more accurately, the music publishing and copyrights to his whole catalog. The move comes almost a decade after Hammer (born Stanley Burrell) filed for bankruptcy and after a number of lawsuits concerning the songs have finally been settled. "He filed for bankruptcy to protect himself from creditors and at some point it became involuntary bankruptcy, which means they not only seized his assets, but a trustee was appointed to guard them," said Randall Wixen of Wixen Music Publishing, the court-appointed administrator for Hammer's five publishing companies. At various points, Hammer has tried to buy the songs back, but Wixen said the rapper hasn't been able to raise enough cash to close the deal. The songs could not be sold until Hammer settled the suits, but now that they are available Wixen expects the whole lot to bring in something in the "upper seven figures" when the auction on them closes in early 2006. Starting on Tuesday (November 1), interested bidders can request the more than 300 pages of spreadsheet information on the rapper's catalog and a chance to "own whatever share of the songs that he used to own." Here's what you can get for your money: A 30 percent share of "Break 'Em Off Somethin' Proper" (with the lion's share going to the late Troutman brothers, Roger and Larry, of the funk group Zapp, for the big chunk of their hit "More Bounce to the Ounce") A 50 percent stake in Hammer's 1990 smash "U Can't Touch This" (the estate of late funketeer Rick James gets the other half thanks to the "Super Freak" sample) A 62.5 percent share of "Turn This Mutha Out" (with the rest going to George Clinton for the sample of Parliament's "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)") A 75 percent share of "Addams Groove" and "Pray" (with Prince getting 25 percent of the latter for its "When Doves Cry" sample) A healthy 90 percent of "2 Legit 2 Quit" and the full 100 percent of "Let's Get It Started" This report is provided by MTV News
