  1. R.Kelly's album is falling fast, 21K and he's #39 but it looks like he'll be platinum in a couple weeks which only John Legend and Destiny's Child has done recently in r&b, I think he needs to release a new single, the "Trapped In The Closet" episodes are losing interest in the public, the crowd didn't seem to be into the performance at the VMAs. Black Eyed Peas are still doing well, they're #4 on the charts and are already platinum with the 3rd highest selling album, if they could stay in the top 10 for a lil' while they could outsell Game, maybe even 50 Cent too since his sales are slowly fallin' too but not fast enough and with the re-release comin' he'll probably push 5 million altogether like his boy Eminem, that's actually less than "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" that sold 7 million so slowly his popularity's ending, I see 2 more albums at the most and his career's over especially since he releases nothin' but annoying club anthems, even Eminem is more versatile than him. Mariah Carey might having the highest selling album of the year in music too since she's still #3. 2005 is 2/3 over with only 4 platinum albums and 3 gold albums in hip-hop, that's low considering how many releases came out this year, probably around 100 since there's 3 or 4 released a week, so for Will to be in the top 5 is quite an accomplishment, he's even outsellin' Bow Wow who's half his age. I think Fat Joe doesn't deserve to flop as much as he's had, he should go at least gold 'cause he does got some skills too, he should be in the middle of the charts too if talent sells. Tim's right that the commercial industry is dead, hip-hop is the highest genre and look how low sales are, look like people are losing interest in music.
  2. Better yet how could somebody only 19 years old with only one album out have a greatest hits album? :willvspaparazzi: This is obviously a slow week in music if that happens, btw it's been a slow year in hip-hop too, "Lost and Found" is actually like the 5th highest selling album this year, Ludacris, Kanye West, and Eminem were released last year so they don't count but it's kinda disturbing that they're all sellin' more than "Lost and Found" The top selling hip-hop in 2005: 33 50 CENT MASSACRE 24,090 -6 25,703 4,278,632 144 GAME DOCUMENTARY 6,852 -17 8,245 2,195,986 4 BLACK EYED PEAS MONKEY BUSINESS 85,368 4 82,143 1,208,947 25 JONES*MIKE WHO IS MIKE JONES? 30,319 -9 33,168 1,030,572 163 SMITH*WILL LOST & FOUND 6,180 -15 7,237 617,854 23 YING YANG TWINS UNITED STATE OF ATLANTA 32,216 -11 36,135 610,113 72 COMMON BE 14,178 6 13,421 583,439 7 YOUNG JEEZY LET'S GET IT 61,174 1 60,814 451,142 18 BOW WOW WANTED 40,746 -10 45,055 414,250 172 FAT JOE ALL OR NOTHING 5,762 -17 6,968 252,579

Especially after that crap top 10 mc list they put together a few weeks ago. :stickpoke: Hopefully they're gonna premiere this on TRL and 106 & Park next week, I'm gonna wait till I see it there, I don't like watching music videos online, anyway I think this is a sign that it's gonna be out there soon, thanks for the news!
  5. Well ESPN'll be saying that it's gonna be a Heat-Spurs finals next summer but we'll see what happens once they start playing! :stickpoke:
  6. It's a must have for any JJFP fan, if you love laid back songs like "Summertime" and "Time To Chill" then you'll love this one!
  7. We're still waiting for the "Party Starter" video while the album's sinking like the Titanic. :stickpoke:
  8. It's ok man, I just figured it'd be easier to have just one Kanye West post instead of many different ones, it makes it easier and more organised for everyone that wants to post about it right here, I have no more to say though 'cause I haven't heard it yet but everyone else could feel free to post their opinions about it. :stickpoke:
  9. Thanks for those reviews Tim!
  10. Aight due to popular demand, I'll pin "Late Registration" topic for a couple of days instead of having so many individual ones! :davidblaine:
  11. :lolsign: There's no need to have so many "Late Registration" topics, if everybody wants to talk about it, I could just pin one topic and make it easier for all of us! :stickpoke:
  12. Now that sounds like somethin' Melle Mel would say, such truth there and he did acknowledge that Pac had skills too! :word: I could understand though that Pac does not always represent the best example for the youth, maybe that's what he means and that's true in that sense, he ain't no Hitler though, sayin' that would offend people.
  13. Thanks for the reviews AJ, if you're startin' to get into Public Enemy buying their greatest hits album is the way to go and if you like that you go buy their albums, that's what I did at 1st when I bought the "20th Century Masters" Public Enemy greatest hits album in 2002 and I've been buying their other albums ever since, they got a couple DVDs out right now too, one from their early Def Jam days in 1987 that features additional performances by LL Cool J, Eric B. and Rakim, and Beastie Boys, and there's another DVD from when they toured in Australia for their last album they did in 2003 and it features them hangin' out and interactin' with the fans there too, I'm definately putting those on my Christmas wish list. Now as far as other artists I might actually check out that Rihianna album 'cause I'm diggin' that single "Pon De Replay", the video got a fun vibe to it too. When's Q-Tip's album comin' out? I wanna definately peep that out when it comes.
  14. I think Melle Mel could've been misquoted 'cause that sounds like something like Star'N'Buck Wild would say in comparing 2Pac to Hitler 'cause they did a foul skit making fun of Aaliyah after she died when they were on Hot 97 and they got kicked off the air for that I remember, I'd have to hear the audio for myself to actually hear Melle Mel himself say that. Melle Mel and Rakim should get together and make a song or tour, I don't wanna see them beef with each other and divide up the hip-hop fanbase, they are the Rolling Stones of our hip-hop generation and are supposed to be setting the example for younger rappers, 50 Cent and Fat Joe will continue to beef if our elders start to beef, a lot of hip-hop heads are angry about the younger rappers beefin' and have been sayin' that we need to look at the ol' school rappers for example, but who is there left to look at for leadership if Rakim/KRS-ONE and Melle Mel start beefin' with each other!
  15. If 2 of the greatest mcs alive like Melle Mel and Rakim start beefin' with each other instead of unifying it'll truely be the end of hip-hop, I wonder if Rakim's gonna respond back and diss Melle Mel.
  16. But comparing 2Pac to Hitler and sayin' Rakim can't outflow commercial rappers of today will not get more respect, he wasn't dissin' KRS, not everyone has to be puttin' him in their top 10, he didn't say anything bad about him I guess, I'd love to hear audio of this.
  17. LL feat. Redman, Method Man, and DMX "Fuhgidabowdit", what can I say I'm a sucker for a posse track, especially since this is Def Jam's finest all on here! :yeah:
  18. time to update again, hopefully "Party Starter" gets into the top 40 soon with the video or else the album will be outta the top 200 within the next 2 or 3 weeks! :willvspaparazzi: 163 SMITH*WILL LOST & FOUND 6,180 -15 7,237 617,854
  19. Queen Latifah feat. Treach, Heavy D, and KRS "Rough...", what an incredible posse track, this gets me hyped! :chuks:
  20. Well they do have Game's "The Documentary" but I wouldn't get that if "Dreams" is the best song since it even grew old on me, 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" which of course I had since I bought into the hype like everyone else in high school when it came out but gave it away since it sucks and I never played it anymore after the 1st couple months I got it, Nelly's "Suit" which doesn't interest me at all, neither does Luda's "Red Light District", The Killers' "Hot Fuss" or Ciara's "Goodies", and I got Alicia Key's "The Diary Of Alicia Keys" already: http://www.bmgmusic.com/catalog/browse/gro...requestid=36516 This ain't somethin' I'm considering doing right away since I'm a lil' strapped for cash right now but in a lil' while when I have a lil' change to spare if they still have the offer, btw if anyone's interested in joining BMG, PM me your email address and we could both get free CDs. :yeah:
  21. Yeah I wonder who that might be? :lolsign: Anyways there's no definitive list that could possibly be right but there's no denying that KRS-ONE, 2Pac, and Rakim are a major part of hip-hop history whether you put them in your top 10, 20, or 40 mcs of all time just like Melle Mel is, so to put them down like that doesn't make sense to me especially since they admit that they were inspired from Melle Mel, KRS and Rakim must feel a lil' heartbroken that their hero dissed them, the Outlawz even sampled "The Message" too, that's being very selfishly and acting like that will ruin his legacy.
  22. Yeah, you're right about that, I think Kanye has a different sound from any other rappers I hear on the radio and I dig his taste in different kinds of music so if I wanna buy a commercial rap album I would consider it over anything else on the scene since they just all come with the same sound, I think "College Dropout" was easily one of the better commercial rap albums in recent years even though I ain't a fan of his I could admit that since he's a step above all the commercial crap out there, btw I notice there's a nice deal in the BMG Catalog to get another album with "Late Registration" for $15 and it comes between a choice of these that I was considering since I haven't bought too much recent stuff lately I might just consider buying a couple of them for a change since it's a sweet deal, they had a couple other ones mentioned but they didn't seem to interest me at all, if "Lost and Found" was mentioned of course I'd get that 'cause I don't mind getting an extra copy and helping Will's sales out a bit more, lol. Anyway, I'm curious which one out of these would y'all choose to go along with it? I figured I'd ask y'all here 'cause a lot of us seem to have the same taste in music.: Usher "Confessions"(Special Edition) Black Eyed Peas "Elephunk" John Legend "Get Lifted" Snoop Dogg "Rhythm & Gangsta"
  23. Yeah I might do somethin' like that, I might consider downloading it to give it a listen or borrow the CD from somebody I know that might get it early to give it a listen, there's other albums that I wanna get first but since Kanye's one of the better mcs out right now I'm gonna keep his album in mind to check out.
