  1. The Lakers were a great example of this, they already had Shaq and Kobe and won 3 rings in 4 years, adding Malone and Payton hurt team chemistry, too many all-stars, not enough shots for everybody, btw I wonder who's gonna sign Gary Payton this year, do you think the Celtics'll re-sign him, he's on the free agent market, he's past his prime now but he could still help some team out.
  2. Musically it had an r&b sound to it, I guess if you ain't that much into r&b you wouldn't feel it.
  3. The thing is with "Born To Reign" it had some nice production, I mean I'll take that production over "Lost and Found" anyday, it was just a lil' bit too much Tra-Knox and not enough Will, it was more like a Tra-Knox featuring Will Smith type of album, too much of an experiment, it had a few good moments but too much of a stretch from what he usually does, Will should've just took more time to make the album 'cause I think some of the verses on there sound so simple like he rushed for it to come out, Slick Rick releases albums like every 5 years and they're very good, great stuff sometime takes more time, a lot of rappers making albums every year don't seem to put much focus on it, Will really was on the grind making movies at that time too where it seemed to take energy out in the focus of making "Born To Reign", that's the consequence of being a hard working entertainer, not enough time in a day to do everything at once, he could've used some of those beats to compliment the rhymes of "Lost and Found" and take Tra-Knox off the album and have them release their own album instead where he'll spit a verse on one of their songs, and in the meantime he could've done guest appearances on soundtracks to his own movies, added the "Born To Reign" song to "The Magnificent" album and he could've kicked Diddy's ass to put him on the BB2 soundtrack and that would've held me over for 6 years! :daveuidiot: Every artist has always done something that they might wish they could've done differently, especially when they've been out a long time, I'm sure Will wishes he would've done things differently for "Born To Reign" which he indicated on "Lost and Found", it's like in sports when you lose a championship, you train harder and come back the next season to championship form if you're great and that's what Will's done, he was lost but he found himself and got his swagga back, now he just needs more of Jazzy Jeff again to..
  4. You're right, if they bring back Curry and Chandler they'll be set and could improve from last year, basically keepin' the same players could build team chemistry, that's how the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots been such great football teams, the Heat singing all those free agents might sound good on paper but it doesn't mean that they'll have chemistry.
  5. "Born To Reign" wasn't Will's best album but when you make that many albums, there's bound to be some albums that stand out more than others.
  6. I love LL's "Big Mama"(Unconditional Love) so much, I'd put it right up there with Nas' "Heaven", KRS-ONE's "So Many Tears", and Will's "Tell Me Why" as the deepest song over the last few years, he should've release it as a single, a lot of people would've bought "10" if he did, such a powerful song, I hope LL does more of these type of songs on his next album, I don't mind club songs but I wanna hear more personal tracks from him, Nas need to do this too on his next album, KRS-ONE too, their skills are still up there but I would have to say Will's a lil' better than them right now 'cause he dug deep in his soul for "Lost and Found", I don't think Kanye is close to that level either, that's the one thing I love about Chuck D's solo album: "Autobiography Of Mistachuck" 'cause it really was an autobiographical album, he talked about more things about himself that he doesn't talk about on the Public Enemy albums. btw, why u dissin' Timbaland? He's a great producer and has worked with a lot of great artists, Kanye's done some crap beats too in between and has worked with some crap artists in between too like Cam'Ron, he's just as wack as Bubba Sparks, I like Game for leaving G Unit but I'm sorry his voice is annoying as hell that I can't stomach listening to for more than 2 minutes, people who dissed Casual's voice need to check themselves! Not all the beats on "BE" are phenominal either, come on as a fan of Will I admit not all of his songs are great either since I'm not a "Loretta" that thinks what everything somebody does is perfect.
  7. I think we said the song might be about Ready Rock C too if I'm not mistaken, he just said "ms." to disguise that.
  8. Well as long as the Heat don't beat the '96 Bulls record I'll be happy, I'm a lil' mad that the Bulls management ain't doing nothin' to improve our chances to win this year but bringin' back our young players could get us past the first round at least.
  9. Well "Big Willie Style" did have "Chasin' Forever" and "Just The Two Of Us" which I think had a lot of heart to them but "Willenium" had more of those type of tracks on it though, if you take away the singles just like "Willenium"(except for "Just The Two Of Us" and "So Fresh" of course), the album's flawless and dominated the competition in '97/98 with the punchlines in "Yes Yes Y'all", "Y'all Know", and "Don't Say Nothin'" that was classic FP spittin', that album got me into JJFP so I got nothin' bad to say about it. But of course summer's ending and I'm more into the mature songs on "Willenium" right now since it's time for me to chill and stop frontin', lol, my moods change constantly so sometimes I might say "Big Willie Style" and other times I'll say 'Willenium", they're both great albums.
  10. Well if it's about quality then "Willenium" should've outsold/or at least sold as much as "Big Willie Style" and "Code Red" should've outsold "Homebase", maybe the fact that Kanye released an album a year after his last might be the reason why he has such anticipation now, maybe if Will actually released albums as much as his movies his sales would stay high but I guess he really doesn't care about that now since he doesn't, if he really wanted to sell a lot he'd sign to G Unit but I don't think none of us want that! :nhawong: A lot of people weren't buying "College Dropout" until "Jesus Walks" came out and dominated the airwaves, don't front, there's no artist out there that can't do well without a hit single, "Golddigger" is getting a lot of airplay right now too.
  11. Why doesn't "Lost and Found" sell more then? It's Will's best solo album and a lot of people say that, why ain't they buying the album? I'm with Lerkot on this one, what world are you living in Frenetic, "Big Willie Style" was the last good album to sell a lot, Diddy and Mase put out garbage at that time and were even more commercial than Will. I doubt Kanye's "Hey Mama" is a better momma song than LL's "Big Mama"(Unconditional Love), he spit with the passion of Pac in this song, post me the lyrics to that song and if it's better than this I'll BUY the album the first day, mark my word: Yeah, this one's dedicated, to my grandmother, and your grandmother It's all love, let's not forget who raised us, word up [LL Cool J] Big Mama, my grandmother, my main girl I love you much more than the scandalous world As a young boy you gave me whoopings to save my life Cursed me out, to keep me out the streets at night Cause my momma had me when she was young So you took on the responsbility to raise your grandson You taught me if a task is once begun, Todd Never leave it 'til it's done, Todd Be thy labor great or small Todd Do it well or not at all, God Big Mama, my blood is your blood When the whole world's against me, I know I got your love If I was in a cell for the rest of my life I know I'd hear your prayers in the middle of the night Used to sit me on your lap and teach me mother wit Early Sunday morning for them salmon and grits I love you baby, you the one and only, that's a fact 'Til death do us part, I'ma always have your back You beefed cause you heard that I was cursin in my raps Eighty-six, still you wanna run and get the straps I love you, I promise you I care for you deep Cause when I had bronchitis you would rock me to sleep Rub me down with green alcohol Little brown-skinned lady bout five feet tall, Big Mama [Chorus: Dru Hill] + (LL) Early one Sunday morning Breakfast was on the table (you gave me unconditional love) There was no time to eat, she said to me Boy hurry to Sunday school (you gave me unconditional love) [LL Cool J] I remember when you told me certain friends wasn't real I didn't wanna listen, I swore I knew the deal Come to find out, everything you said was true Who I end up goin to for advice? You I love you, that's why you got nurses and maids Ever since I got paid, you ain't never been afraid That's granddaddy wife, she taught me how to think How to navigate through life, you made the sacrifice You kept on livin, cause when my granddaddy died It took all your might, but you ain't quit on life We took trips down South, biscuits and chicken Me you granddad and Alison, trippin Remember, you used to pick me up from junior high And classmates laughed when the Buick rolled by Remember, I pulled my privates out in class And from Farmers to Dunkirk you straight whooped my (woo!!) The best cookin a man could ever taste It's written in my heart, it can never be erased Thank you so much, you taught me well How to not get souped up, because I'm LL How to walk the street, and hold my head real high How to live with Christ and not be afraid to die We sipped daquiris, but you never told moms We even shared beers, Big Mama my dear A toast to a woman that raised a man In popular demand all across the land You're my lawyer, my teacher, my doctor, my friend My mother, my father, you with me 'til the end I love you, I mean that from the bottom of my heart That's the reason why my record's #1 on the charts I'ma tell it like it is, I love you forever Dead or alive, we'll always be together Big Mama I love you [Chorus] [LL Cool J] I dedicate this to the Big Mama's everywhere The ones who raised us - when nobody else was there The ones who held us and told us it'll be alright When gunshots was goin off every night Taught us how to lock the door and check the peephole And how to swallow Vicks when we had a chest cold How to stay proud, and represent hard Eat plenty baby, but first say grace for God Big Mama, I'ma miss you When one of us leave this earth But baby for what it's worth, I love you since the date of my birth And if it wasn't for my children, I would wanna go first You're the reason I'm the man I am today The inspiration, for me to be LL Cool J When you told me "Knock 'Em Out," I brought you home a Grammy I learned to be tough from Big Mama and Aunt Cammy A black man that was raised by black women On tour, sippin your special honey and lemon You told me, gargle with vinegar water and salt The concert was hot, thanks to your support Girl - you're the one I love Whether right here with me or smilin from up above Trouble or no trouble, you always had my back So I had to let you know your son appreciates that, Big Mama [Chorus] - repeat 2X
  12. "Willenium" is definately more mature but I don't mind the boasting and braggin of "Big Willie Style" 'cause sometimes I feel like tellin' people "Don't Say Nothin'" and "Y'all Know" i'm #1!
  13. It should've been the 1st single, imagine if this came out right before the album dropped, he'd went gold the 1st week since "Party Starter" is 5X doper than "Switch"!
  14. If Jazzy Jeff produced all of "Lost and Found" or "Big Willie Style", I'd be dissapointed and say that his production fell off, even though they're great albums lyrically, production wise they're lacking, that's why I think "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper", "Homebase", and "Code Red" are so great 'cause they got great lyrics/great production throughout which is something his solo albums been lacking, "Willenium" has awesome production but "Freakin' It" and "Will 2K" are just awful produced tracks, they sound like they just used the sample and didn't add anything to it, the wackbastards screwed up.
  15. Well I didn't download "Lost and Found" before it came out, I actually waited for it but musically you can't say that it the tracks sound better than what Jazzy Jeff produced, you could also tell that Jazzy Jeff didn't scratch on the album too, his scratching sounds like an instrument and the scratches on the album only sound like it was from the computer. You could always pick a few songs from every classic album and say that you don't like them but that doesn't mean the album's not classic.
  16. Well whoever has been promoting "Lost and Found" deserves to be fired! :ShockRifle: F Interscope, Will could go to another record label or even start his own label since he has so much money, 30 million+ sold and he's the #1 man in the box office, there's no need to worry about his career ending anytime soon, I think "Lost and Found" will go platinum easily if "Party Starter"'s a flashy video than "Switch", it should've been the first single to start out with and it'd gone platinum in the 1st month, "Switch" should've been the last single.
  17. Well as a year older and more mature I'd have to say "Willenium" but I still love "Big Willie Style" but since summer's ending, I've been feelin' "Willenium" lately.
  18. Maybe Will should've waited to release "Lost and Found" this week 'cause the "Party Starter" video will create way more hype than the "Switch" video did, hopefully it knocks both Kanye's and Yayo's weak videos out of rotation.
  19. Kanye selling 900K?! Yayo 400K?! Will's album had great promotion and only sold 90K the 1st week, wtf? I hope "Party Starter" blows up this week and jumps back big on the charts again, I wanna see Yayo only sell around 50 K and flop like Memphis Bleek, selling 400K is way too much, in Game's voice I say: G-Unot needs to fold! Interscope's a bitch for promoting them so damn much and waiting 6 months to release "Party Starter" video, I don't care if they're releasing it now, they still suck. How could Kanye sell 900K too on the 1st week, that'd be 10X more than "Lost and Found"'s 1st week, I figure maybe around 300K-500K at the most, but 900K? "College Dropout" sold 2 million last time and I don't see them buying this album based on the 2 weak videos so far, unless they're a loyal fanbase that Will doesn't have. Most #1 albums have only sold 200K lately I'll believe that when it happens. Not even Black Eyed Peas do those numbers and we know how much of a pop audience they have, their album's been out for months and it still hasn't hit platinum yet. I hate commercial rap, I wanna see people 1 million people buy Hieroglyphics and KRS-ONE but since they don't even buy Will's album that won't happen. :lolsign: I'd be happy if Kanye outsold Yayo but I don't wanna see him outsell Will, all this makes me wanna vote for the "Party Starter" video more, I don't like seeing all the overrated rappers dominating the charts, it's cool that people like Kanye's 'cause he's a positive rapper but what about Will?
  20. I'm down too, in order to vote many times for TRL throw in your ex-girlfriend/boyfriend/even neighbors' names. :lolsign:
  21. Well Mutombo did a nice job last year for the Rockets coming off the bench, doing it for 2 more years though is gonna be hard to expect, he'll be 41 years old then, Rockets ain't gonna win no ring either. I hope the Heat don't get Finley, they have enough great players already, I don't wanna see them beat the '96 Bulls record of 72 wins.
  22. :iagree: 'Cause the majority of today's rap fans have a short term memory, if they took a look at how great his career has been they'd see that he's arguably the greatest mc that has ever touched the mic, I mean how many classics does he have to drop? :daveuidiot: I honestly think it comes down to preference, there's 5 albums you can flip a coin on and say it's the best one, Will might be the only rapper that has matured along with his music in his career, you could see each album represented who he was at the time, he was rapping about mostly partying and battling rappers when he came out, now he's rapping about the issues he deals with as a married man with kids and still proves that he's still the best battle mc out now, the skills have always stayed consistant, a lot of rappers when he came out ain't in their prime now(actually most except for maybe KRS, Chuck D, Slick Rick, or LL) to duplicate what they did earlier in their careers but Will is and I still think that the best is yet to come, especially if he does a more mature JJFP album with Jazzy.
  23. Will's always been a great battle mc, this verse on "My Buddy" is one of the strongest in his career and one of the reasons why "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" will remain the best album Will's ever done: "We've won so many battles, people think it's a trick That when the crowd gets to judge it's US that they'll pick They see Ready's face and then they hear my voice To choose us as the winners is the natural choice Because battle after battle we remain on top Cause it's not the way we look, it's the way that we rock So if you thought you wanted to battle, bust this rhyme Just keep it and I'm sure that I can change your mind There was ten wack dudes trying to play high post One crew got bold and they began to boast But said, Y'all shut up and get back in line But they refused (what happened now) So now there's nine Nine wack crews tryin to rock like this They were bitin my rhymes and just couldn't resist I said please stop bitin, please don't imitate But they kept on bitin, so there's now there's eight Eight wack crews poppin big time trash Telling us that in a battle we can't last The battle started at 10:30 and by quarter of eleven was no longer eight crews (how many was their) There was seven Seven wack cruise in a football huddle Trying to figure out their next rebuttal They came out strong you'd think their The Ultimate but we just dissed em and dismissed, so now there's six Six wack groups, tryin to be tough Who the hell told em they could rock the mic like us We got straight down the business didn't pop no jive We just blew em out, so now there's five Five wack crews lined up in the hallway All perpetrating like they're read to play My secretary walked out, she asked for one more They got scared, and left, so now there's four Four wack crews outside playing around I said I'll take you wall on, now how does that sound? Not one had heart enough to pick up that mic I said, okay I'll let you go, psych That's the moral, of this story Never try to take me and Ready Rock's glory Cause if you do your future looks muddy Cause you just can't beat me and my buddy"
  24. I tried downloading it just now and it says "this page cannot be displayed"! :damnlorettas:
