  1. "Code Red" is a classic for all those reasons in the early '90s, that should be ranked up there with "Illmatic", "Chronic", and "Return Of Da Boom Bap" but I think "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" is the best one, there's no doubt that JJFP deserved the 1st rap grammy, that album's solid from beginning 'til end, classic FP storytellin', Ready Rock C beatboxing, and Jazzy on the wheels, this album blew JJFP's career up, it gets no better than that, classic hip-hop, it might need to be remastered now but so does "It Takes A Nation Of Millions..." and "Raising Hell" which were other landmark albums from that era.
  2. I see there's another post there dissin' KRS-ONE too, it seems like a lot of them like commercial rap, it doesn't even seem like an underground forum anymore, it seems like there's only 10 year olds posting corny stuff like they got no life, I just like going to the site for news on underground mcs.
  3. Hey I got ur back, I post there once in a while, there's been a lot of idiots there lately!
  4. Queen Latifah feat. Treach, Heavy D, and KRS-ONE "Rough...", I finally got "Black Reign" today, classic album! :1-say-yes:
  5. We should make suggestions for peeps to buy other JJFP/Will albums too, a lot of haters don't even give any Will's albums a listen when they write him off just 'cause they think "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" and "Switch" are corny, I'd like to see "Code Red" go platinum during my lifetime too! :lolsign:
  6. Well his movies are more popular than his music now, it's like if you ain't high on the charts the media don't talk about you, if "Lost and Found" was in the top 10 right now I bet they would've talked about "Party Starter" longer last night, that's why most of the public might not talk about Will as an mc and they talk about 50 Cent all day, but if they don't even talk about him, they sure the hell won't acknowledge any other ol' school rapper out there still 'cause he's the most popular one from that era except for LL but "Lost and Found" has basically outsold "The Definition" already, well at least Will gets acknowledged for somethin' and I think his popularity in music would be even less now if it wasn't for his movie career since he wouldn't be on the "Today Show" or "Access Hollywood", it seems like movie fanbases are more loyal than music fanbases too, I mean if 'Wild Wild West' could be #1, why couldn't "Born To Reign" have gone to #1? The quality in his music I'd say is as strong as the quality in his movies, but since the movies are more popular than the music people automatically say his movies are better than his music which is just as ignorant as saying Ja Rule is better than KRS-ONE since he sells more than him and Eminem is a rap god since he's the highest selling now, there's a lot of crap movies that go #1 too and a lot of good movies that flop, I ain't talkin' about Will's though, I wish one of his movies would flop though just so they could focus more on his music like they do with LL since most of movies flop, lol, I think LL's acting skills are underappreciated but I guess you can't win them all.
  7. It might take another year or so for it to go platinum at this rate, it's gonna be hard for sales to triple even if "Party Starter" becomes a huge hit but at least it could stay on the charts, maybe if it's on the charts a year from now, it'll be platinum.
  8. I guess you are right Maxfly, I didn't think about it that way, if Will's acting career didn't take off he wouldn't be on Access Hollywood even though he won the 1st rap Grammy, that's why De La Soul or KRS-ONE doesn't get the love they deserve either by the media even though they're rap pioneers 'cause it's all about being relevant now, not the past.
  9. They should put that on DVD, I'd love to see it!
  10. Ted, as much as your view of hip hop may be jaded, you have to realize that when a musician or an actor appears on a program, they aren't the only ones benefiting. When Will appears on a program, whether it is Leno or Access granted, people tune in to watch Will. The program is benefiting just as much from Will's appearance as Will is benefiting from being on the show. Think of all the appearances Will has made over this year, not only for Lost and Found but Hitch as well. There's a reason why a person's appearance on television and being interviewed is called free promotion... Lol, I definitely have to laugh thinking about Will paying the Today show to appear. Ridiculous notion. ← Aight since you wanna open up this debate again, I just wanna ask you why can't many independent artists get on TV to perform then if it's free to perform? The same goes for independent actors too, they ain't allowed to go on Regis to be interviewed so nobody goes to see their movie, everyone deserves a chance.
  11. That was wack, they spent most of the time talking about Will hanging out with Tom Cruise, go figure, lol, it seems like the media always talks about his acting career more than his music career, he deserves more credit as an mc than what he gets, I wouldn't mind if Will and Tom did a movie together but damn why couldn't they talk more about the "Party Starter" video? I thought that's why he was on there for!
  12. Big Tigger is dope, Rap City has been boring without him, I loved how he'd go in the booth and freestyle with the mcs that go on to be interviewed, he got some skills, he should do an album himself! I haven't really heard that much from Free though but there's not really any dope female mcs out, that's a vacancy that needs filling.
  13. Young Jeezy did over 170,000 this week, hip-hop is officially dead! We might have to put Lerkot's plan into effect fast. :pony:
  14. I noticed that they mentioned about Access Hollywood in the WS.com calendar, I can't believe they actually UPDATED! It'd be nice if they put the date for the video release but that's asking for too much right? :wiggle: Well Will's probably only gonna be on there for 2 minutes or so and it's just an entertainment news show so I doubt that'd he'd have to pay for it, but if he was featured on the whole half hour he'd probably have to.
  15. Time to update again, well "Party Starter"'s coming out soon to keep the album on the charts or else it'd just fall off in another month: 100 SMITH*WILL LOST & FOUND 10,832 -13 12,381 586,613
  16. I didn't know Shaq was making $30 million dollars a year, he shouldn't have been making Michael Jordan money, well $20 mil a year's still sweet too, that's Will Smith money, "Shaq Diesel makes another 20 mil, walks right past Kobe"! :lolsign:
  17. This is bad news for the rest of the Eastern Conference, the Heat're building a dynasty, as much as I like Shaq I'd rather see him get old and his skills decline than seeing the Heat win 3 championships in a row!
  18. This is a great sign that the video's coming out now, thanks for this, I'm gonna peep for it tonight! :2thumbs:
  19. :yeahthat: It sounds like a great show I could care less about the Nas/50 beef, that's why I renamed this post 'cause everyone else performing there is more interesting to me, it seems like it had everybody there except JJFP, PE, and LL, I'd like to go a whole year without hearing about 50 and his G-Unit click if I had it my way 'cause there's so many that don't get talked about for a year it seems that deserve some props like Wu-Tang Clan and Hieroglyphics, now those are legendary crews, KRS needs to blow up again and rip all these weak commercial rappers out now, he's the greatest battle rhymer, punchlines for days, you won't think Eminem is the greatest after you heard him.
  20. :yeahthat: I can't afford that either, I just listen to my CDs and tapes, but if I had one Will Smith and KRS-ONE songs would top my playlist 'cause I listen to them mostly everyday.
  21. I'm listening to the '99 Haiku D'Etat album, "Hitch" Soundtrack, and MC Hammer's "Too Legit To Quit" lately that I just check out from my library! :dj:
  22. Hey did anybody see Stephen A. Smith interview Allen Iverson last night on ESPN? That was great stuff, he was sporting a Biggie/2Pac t-shirt.
  23. I heard on ESPN today that Antoine Walker might sign to the Heat and they might get James Posey from the Grizzlies for Eddie Jones, that'd make them a really deep team next year.
  24. That's dope to hear that KRS got Nas' back here, he should be on Nas' next album, in fact I wouldn't mind if they did an album together either, and since this is a "Rock The Bells" concerts, where's Uncle L at?
