JJFP "I Wanna Rock"
-
Well you do have a point there, they all worked hard to make it in the music buisiness and we all have different tastes, but the artists don't always respect each other, Nelly has no right to diss KRS-ONE ever 'cause KRS-ONE opened doors for Nelly, so in that I say Nelly's classless and 50 Cent disses Nas and Jadakiss just 'cause he sells more records than them so he's not very respectful either since they been out longer than him, and what gives Eminem the right to diss every pop star out there when he's a pop star himself, if he really hated mainstream that bad he would release his albums independently. If I made it big I wouldn't turn around and diss 50 Cent, Nelly, or Eminem even though they ain't my favorites, but I wouldn't go out of my way to give them props either since they don't respect the ones that were pioneers of music, it should work both ways, I don't hate the player, I hate the game(not the rapper, lol).

That's a shame, he had a lot of potential, there's a whole bunch of wack rappers that I wish would retire instead of him.
-
Continuing Where I left off: Petey Pablo, wack Tech 9ne,? Dead Prez, ?, but will gave them a shout-out, so they must be aight then Mos Def, the most intelligent mc to come out in recent years Tribe Called Quest, legendary group, only Run-Dmc and PE are better Ludacris, he was inspired by JJFP so he's aight in my book Foxy Brown, one of the best mcs to come out in recent years, male or female Trina, classless, wack Beanie Siegel, flow's annoying 50Cent, one of the worst rappers ever Big L, only put out one album, he was aight Common, puts a lot of soul into his music, obviously inspired by tribe called quest, he deserves his due, hopefully he wins a grammy next year Kanye West, he's a lil' overhyped but he's aight Xzibit, dope mc from west coast The Roots, bring that philly soul to their music, experiment too much recently though but still dope Twista, fast rhymer, dope Trick Daddy, annoying Run DMC, greatest hip-hop group Talib Kweli, keeps conscious hip-hop alive, deserves more due Scarface, pioneer of the south, legend P. Diddy, like kanye west except he's a better producer Nelly, one of the worst rappers ever Chingy, same as above DJ Quik, legendary producer/mc Keith Murray, witty mc with mad punchlines Gangstarr, legendary group, dj premiere's one of the best djs/producers, guru is one of he best mcs Ghostface Killah, arguably the best mc in wu-tang after method man Ice Cube, the best mc to come out of nwa, hardcore rap at it's finest after krs and pe Juvenile, same as 50 cent/nelly/chingy Eve, the best mc in rough ryders after dmx Outkast, best group to come out in last decade, last album was overrated though Busta Rhymes, discovered by chuck d 15 years ago and still going strong with mad energy, obviously inspired from fresh prince

JJFP, LL Cool J, Rakim, Run-Dmc, Slick Rick, KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, and most of my favorite rappers came out this decade, the golden era!
-
2Pac, Nas, JJFP, LL Cool J, and KRS-ONE
-
Aight here I go: Snoop Dogg, legendary mc Kurupt, he's aight Daz, he's aight Rakim, the most lyrically gifted mc to ever bless the mic LL Cool J, most versatile mc ever DMX, one of the best mcs in recent years Redman, one of the most underrated mcs Method Man, dope mc from wu-tang clan Warren G, represents that g-funk hip-hop with snoop, i feel his style the Game, he might have a great career if he leaves g unit Nas, arguably the best mc in the last decade Jay-z, he has skills but he's too overrated Biggie, was nowhere near 2Pac's skills Fat Joe, he was a great mc when he came out but since big pun died, he's not the same anymore, even though he's sold more recently, still aight Big Pun, his life was cut short too soon but he opened a lot of doors for latin rappers, he deserves more due 2Pac, he rapped with a lot of heart in his short career KRS-One, the most intelligent rapper to ever blessed the mic NWA, they were a great group but broke up too soon Eminem, he has skills but he's overrated just like Jay-Z Ja Rule, wack mc, not as wack as 50 cent though... Well I gtg now, I'll continue the rest later
-
Well if a song is something from your heart, rhyme structure isn't really the most important thing, he's had a lot of songs that're lyrically better, but none of them could get deeper than this song, I think this is one of the deepest tracks he's ever done.

Your Top 3 music producers of all time
bigted replied to Big Willie Style's topic in Caught in the Middle
Not to forget JJFP :) Oh yeah that's right, he produced "I'm Lookin' For The One"(To Be Wit Me) -
I saw the video for "Ass Like That" today, damn that's as corny as "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice, Em's career is over now. :hilarious:
-
"Just The Two Of Us" is a great song, "Mockingbird" is aight for Eminem's quality since most of his songs are mediocre, I think "You and Me" by Nas is closer to "Just The Two Of Us" level than "Mockingbird" though.
-
Thanks for the info Miss N.I.C., I think Kel Spencer should rap on a remix to one of Will's future singles, that would help him get some buzz.
-
I don't mind whatever comes out, I just can't wait to see the new video, "Party Starter" is gonna be huge! :afro:

Your Top 3 music producers of all time
bigted replied to Big Willie Style's topic in Caught in the Middle
Well if you're talking about top 3 of all-time, I'd have to include some music pioneers that opened up the doors for urban music today: 1-James Brown 2-Ray Charles 3-Stevie Wonder Honorable Mention would be the best producer in urban music over the last 20 years: Teddy Riley-(he's produced hits for Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Guy, Heavy D, Blackstreet, Keith Sweat, Wreckx-N-Effectz, Michael Jackson, and Foxy Brown among other big names in hip-hop/r&b over the last 20 years) -
Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey "One Sweet Day", classic song!
-
Real talk right there, you just keep gettin' better and better! :afro:
-
Whoever did this should pay! :nono:

Yeah! A ten would suggest its a classic. An album that the majority of the hip hop community like! I dont think this is the case with L&F! Don't get me wrong its a blinding album but I wouldn't say a 10 out of 10! Well the majority of the hip-hop community hasn't really shown that much love to ol' school rappers except Dr. Dre and KRS-ONE, I can't believe how much criticism LL's last few albums have gotten, how many rappers does he have to slay to get the props he deserves? :confused3: If Jay-Z or Eminem made this album or Kanye West produced it, people would call it an instant classic, even if Jazzy Jeff produced it, people'd still criticise it 'cause they hate ol' school rappers and worship Eminem and Jay-Z, but one day they'll be considered ol' school too, "Lost and Found" has gotten about as much props as KRS-ONE's recent ones have gotten in the hip-hop community, there's always a few people that don't like them and want them to hang up their mics 'cause they don't like ol' school rap, so I don't take their criticism to heart. :afro:

Will Smith "I Wish I Made That/Swagga"

I personally don't see nothin' wrong wit Will sayin' that 'cause he's a caring father and would tell his kids that music is just entertainment but I find it kinda odd that he'd say this after sayin' a few years ago in an interview: "Why is it so important to keep it clean? -To me theirs two issues. Number one rap music like movies is not kept away from children. There's not the ratings system to keep them from certain sections of the store. Rap music, people can act like its not, but rap music is for kids. You know its completely directed at children and impressionable minds and I just think it's dangerous to pump that kind of cavalier misogyny and hatred in young minds. A big part of it is a lot of the artists that are doing it are young too. You know so their people that haven't even really developed their point of view of life and are thrust into a position where their role models and their up on stage and can rile people up to do things and I got kids I don't want em listening to that trash." On that note though most parents don't care if their kids listen to explicit versions of the albums and that's when there's a big problem, so Will's doing the right thing by letting his kids listen to edited versions of albums, but they're gonna gradually hear cursing anyway so I don't see the difference, as long as you raise your kid right it's all good! :blabla:

This verse from Rakim's "I Ain't No Joke" is one of my all-time favorites, he was only 16 when he wrote this: "I ain't no joke, I use to let the mic smoke Now I slam it when I'm done and make sure it's broke When I'm gone, no on gets on, cause I won't let nobody press up, and mess up, the scene I set I like to stand in the crowd, and watch the people wonder "Damn!" But think about it, then you'll understand I'm just an addict, addicted to music Maybe it's a habit, I gotta use it Even if it's jazz or the quiet storm I hook a beat up, convert it into hip-hop form Write a rhyme in grafitti and, every show you see me in Deep concentration, cause I'm no comedian Jokers are wild, if you wanna be tamed I treat you like a child, then you're gonna be named Another enemy, not even a friend of me Cause you'll get fried in the end, when you pretend to be competing, cause I just put your mind on pause And I complete when, you compare my rhyme with yours I wake you up and as I stare in your face you seem stunned Remember me? The one you got your idea from But soon you start to suffer, the tune'll get rougher When you start to stutter, that's when you had enough of biting it'll make you choke, you can't provoke You can't cope, you shoulda broke, because I ain't no joke"

That "Switch" performance was the best performance of the night, the crowd was also lovin' "Party Starter" too! :afro:

The Source sucks, I wouldn't buy it unless they put Will on the cover. :poke:
