  1. 'Boom! Shake The Room" is a great song, I don't get how Will could say that's the worst song he's ever done, I think "Men In Black" was his worst song, but even that was a #1 hit, so needless to say he doesn't make wack stuff.
  2. That's a great interview, nuff props for posting that! :thumb:
  3. I got another book from the library today called "Who's Gonna Take The Weight?: Manhood, Race, and Power In America" by Kevin Powell, so what's everybody been reading lately? I'd say reading helps me comes up with better themes for the songs I write.
  4. Eric B. and Rakim "I Ain't No Joke", fan4ever got me in the mood to throw it on :kool:
  5. You damn right, when you listen to ol' school hip-hop albums you see that they deserve more credit than they get 'cause they laid the foundation for today's hip-hop. btw, I got on De La Soul feat. Flava Flav "Come On Down", this song's funny as hell!
  6. "The G.O.A.T." is a great album, it helped LL gained a lot of credablity back in hip-hop when people were callin' him soft, why would a rookie rapper like Cannibus wanna challenge a veteran like LL, he should've picked on other rookie rappers comin' out like Ja Rule instead, LL silenced critics sorta like Will's done here with "Lost and Found", they should do a remix to "I Wish I Made That", but one bad thing I could say about the "G.O.A.T." is that there's too many guest appearances, but those guest appearances worked 'cause I like DMX, Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Carl Thomas, Xzibit, and Redman, and it wasn't like they outshined LL, he dominated on that album, crazy energy, I swear I must've played that album everyday for about a year after I bought it the day it was released, although he came pretty strong on his other albums too, but this album solidfied him as the greatest of all time, "Radio", "Mama Said Knock You Out", and "Mr. Smith" are among his other classics, all of his others are above average, I don't see many catalogs topping his! :afro: :ali: This verse in "Where I Belong" is legendary to the way he addresses all the haters: "The other night I was up at Farmers, politican wit some bloods They told me "yo L, in the streets you aint gettin no Love And Ever since the X's and the Jiggas came out my niggas aint tryin to the hear that smooth s*** you talk about What's Up wit that cat Canibus, some played you out Why you didn't answer back correctly, f*** was that about?" as I sip on some henny, and try to explain some things about the life of a legend, and all the Drama it brings been gone a long time, had a lot of s*** on my mind I decided I don't want to reach my goal if it means losing my shine Streets is Hip-hop and I'm Hip-Hop, so the streets is Mine Ballin' as long as you been livin', that's a long time Hard to Stay hungry when your pockets are so fat You hit a hot one in every city on the map And niggas keep sleepin' and you keep coming back You know better than the gat, but niggas still wanna clap" I personally don't get why anyone would be stupid enough to diss LL, he's still sellin' as much as Nas and Jay-Z are on the charts, and he's been going platinum since they were 13 years old and they were watching and admiring him, Jay-Z even said in an interview that LL's his favorite rapper.
  7. I don't wanne start nothing here...but AJ, why do you have to start talking about The Game?? :dunno: Before you know it, peeps will be on this thread making posts about how much they like The game! And stuff like that always ends in a fight or discussion! :werd: Like PE says, make love f*** war, let's respect each others tastes! Nuff said! :werd: :kekeke:
  8. LL still has a lot left in him and I ain't a Jay-Z hater, he just ain't one of my favorites like LL that's all, we all have different tastes, I don't have beef with Jay-Z but in my opinion I think LL's a better mc than Jay-Z and that's my opinion and nobody's gonna change that, we gotta respect each other's opinions, I personally don't mind who Will decides to collaborate with in the future.
  9. Chuck D "Underdog" "Cheba cheba had you wide like a receiver What looks like fire is ice Fall for the flame, catch it twice like Jerry Rice. Nice" :kool:
  10. Why would we believe anything from there when one of those Lorettas were saying they were having Will's baby? It's probably just another false rumor.
  11. Nice pics fuq! :thumb: One of these days I'm gonna have to reveal myself to y'all.
  12. This must've been the worst weekend all time for the Playoffs, none of the games were close, I hope things get more competitive soon. :poke:
  13. Well it's just like Will says on "I Wish I Made That": "I know you love me, even though you place other rappers above me" All the rappers that have fame now do the same thing, personally I see the creativity getting overlooked ever since "The Chronic" album came out, there was artists like Redman, Naughty By Nature, and Outkast comin' out as new artists but were ignored 'cause "The Chronic" was the only album on top of the charts, it's a great album, but hip-hop can't be one dimensional, there's too many wannabe gangsta rappers out as a result from that album. It's sorta like how Jazzy Jeff said in "The Real Deal" article on this site, the differences between now and then: "I think there was a lot more, I don't want to say "creativity," but it just seems like there was a lot more diversity. People were just really open and wanted to do new stuff, and try innovative things back then. You could have a tour with Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and everybody has an audience, and everybody loves everybody. Everyone was making money, but everyone was having so much fun. Then, the rivalries in hip-hop were about "I'm the best DJ" or "I'm the best MC." It just seems now that's it's about "I have more money" and "no, I have more money." Where did all the skill level go? Now it's like the best rapper is the one that makes the most money "
  14. :werd: I personally wouldn't mind if bagotrasho came back, but this is Tim's board and we have to respect his decision for banning him, he wouldn't just ban him for no reason. btw, he must really be obsessed with this board if he wrote a song about it! :kekeke:
  15. :werd: I actually listen to oldies radio more if I turn on the radio, that's the only station with good music these days. :speechless:
  16. Clever song there, there's a lot of good punchlines! :afro:
  17. Thanks for posting that, but I posted that a few days ago on this thread. :toetap: :kekeke: This ain't no all-time hip-hop list since this doesn't include LL Cool J, KRS-ONE, JJFP, and Queen Latifah, there would be no Nas, Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie if it wasn't for them, there's not enough respect for the ol' school, a lot of these new mcs bite off the ol' school and they get all the credit, they act like hip-hop began in '93, underground mcs get no respect either, Hieroglyphics deserves more mention than some of those on there too.
  18. That's a hot freestyle, your flow was really on point, that sounded really good! :kool:
  19. Thanks for the feedback, I don't wanna record right now, I'm still just finding myself as an artist and I ain't rushing into it yet, when my finances are right I'd like to start my own independent label, I don't wanna do what everyone else does, I wanna take charge when I decide to record, but I ain't trying to take FP's place or anything I'm just trying to do my thing and earn my name with hard work.
  20. I don't get why black radios don't play him, LL's music pretty similar to Will's and he gets a lotta airplay on black radio, maybe if LL's films did better, black radio would hate on him and not play his music either, I think it's all jealousy, they don't wanna see black peeps succeed.
  21. Wow the Pacers shocked the hell outta of me, Reggie Miller didn't play much and they still won big, they're gonna give the Pistons a run for their money, I'm looking forward to that series.
  22. Well he's best at doing comedic tracks, he'll always be known for that, every rapper has their own styles, but at the same time, he's older now and should be able to express the other side of being a caring father to the world as well, then on his next album he could go back to doing his comedic storytelling tracks or doing something else on his next album 'cause he got his point across on "Lost and Found", every album is a chapter of his life, some albums might not be as dope as others, but sometimes life isn't always up either, we always have up and downs, it's about being around when the smoke clears, the haters are gonna fall off and he'll succeed staying true to who he is, he's just showing that he's a down to earth person we could relate to, and I'll support whatever he does.
