  1. Well it could be debatable that "Lost and Found" is the best album of the decade in hip-hop! I could count on my hand how many albums I bought from this decade from mainstream hip-hop that I actually like, this is arguably the worst decade in hip-hop when you have Nelly, Ja Rule, D12, G Unit, Roc-a-fella, and DTP rappers topping the charts, the rap game has been terrible for years, so on that note the only album that could top "Lost and Found" will probably be Public Enemy's "Rebirth Of A Nation", I wouldn't mind if it did 'cause they deserve to win a Grammy since they've been in the game as long as JJFP, it'd be nice to see Fuggees make a comeback too, Guru has an album comin' this summer, Ice Cube has an album comin' this summer, and possibly a Rakim album comin', maybe even another KRS-ONE album, and hopefully Dr. Dre abandons G Unit and makes another classic, "Lost and Found" could've opened the doors for ol' school rappers to get recognition.
  2. Wow I see they say Common's album has worse production than Will's album, this proves that Kanye West is overrated, Will is a more versatile mc when it comes to subject matter than even Common, but that's not a diss to Common, I'm looking forward to his album too, I also think there needs to be a JJFP album and Will needs to quit movies 'cause I'm tired of hearing people say he's an actor not a rapper.
  3. Maybe if 2Pac never did "Hit 'Em Up", maybe people wouldn't have compared his career to Biggie's. A lot of the fans who bought "Stillmatic" seem to have fallen off the bandwagon though after the Jay-Z/Nas battle, Nas didn't even have to diss Jay-Z back and "Stillmatic" would've still been classic, that's a shame since he's been putting out great music still, I don't get either how he coulda got such hard criticism for doing "You Owe Me" either when every rapper does flossy videos, Nas deserves a Grammy.
  4. Why'd they put "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" on there? I thought VH1 put it as one of the best hip-hop videos of all time a couple years ago on that show hosted by Ed Lover and Doctor Dre.
  5. :werd: My thought exactly, if FP's going for a commercial hit then he'd call Jay-Z for the remix, he'd been perfect to collab on "Big Willie Style", but I think it's better to improve on hip-hop cred by having Rakim on the track, Jay-Z is a cameo whore, I'm sick of hearing him on every album, Rakim didn't do any collabos in the Eric B. and Rakim days, just like Will didn't do any collabos in the JJFP days, I think collabos are too much now, why can't we just leave it the way it is, is the song wack or something? If it ain't broke then why fix it? The only person to possibly remix it should be Jazzy Jeff, I wanna hear more JJFP and less of other hip-hop artists. This is the last of my 2 cents in this topic. :blabla: btw, welcome to the forum!
  6. Has he really matured? Chorus from "Can You Control Your Ho" from his new album: :poke: Hey the hook on "Pump Ya Brakes" is basically the clean version of that. :hilarious: "If you're girl is in your face And she's out of place Then what ya gotta do is, pump ya brakes" btw, nice knowledge there Maxfly, I could'nt say it better myself.
  7. Amen to that, "Girls Ain't Nothin' But Trouble", every girl I ran into recently seem kinda lazy, I mean I'm unemployed right now but I'm looking for a job and I always wanna work, I'm far from lazy, finding a girl like 3cookies and Julie ain't easy 'cause a lot of chicks out there wanna live off of what the guy's doing, "Treat Her Like A Prostitute" by Slick Rick and "Sophisticated Bitch" by Public Enemy are also other songs I could relate to. :blabla: :kekeke:
  8. Well looks like the Pistons are set to wrap up the series, they won Game 4 today over the Sixers, that was a great game to watch. I think the only team that could beat the Pistons in the playoffs are the Heat, the Pacers or Celtics will be too drained from their series to play well against the Pistons.
  9. ...then they all escaped in AJ's car while Freddy Kugar was unconscious, then Lerkot called up Big Ted in New Jersey who was the co-writer of the JJFP bible and decided to drive to New Jersey but the car ran out of gas and they ran into Mike Tyson who...
  10. Well here we go, let me name some other rappers, it's too hard to name one song: LL Cool J "Jack The Ripper"/"Mama Said Knock You Out"/"Power Of God" DMX "Who We Be"/"Get At Me Dog" Public Enemy "Don't Believe The Hype"/"Black Steel In The Night Of Chaos"/"Fight The Power" KRS-ONE "Love's Gonna Get Ya"(Material Love)/"Step Into A World"/"My Philsophy" 2Pac "Keep Ya Head Up"/"Brenda's Got A Baby"/"I Ain't Mad At Ya" Slick Rick "Mona Lisa"/"La Di Da Di"/"Children's Story" Rakim "It's Been A Long Time"/"I Ain't No Joke"/"When I Be On Tha Mic"
  11. Common and D'angelo "Geto Heaven"(Part 2), such a deep track, I can't wait to hear his new album
  12. I went through some of my rhymes and found a verse I wrote related to the war and the issues of the world, if Will calls me up I could add it to a remix of "Tell Me Why" :kekeke: : "It all comes from a down moment Hyoricrite bums ae now folding 'Cause they thought the spotlight would shine out bright on them For all eternity, words are deadly Y'all ask for mercy, but your ass is hurting Those below you, they won't console you When they find their way ahead And your spotlight blurs away slipping You can break in a minute When I finish this sentence It is gonna be the beginning of ya ending All our clocks are ticking Every moment we're living We shouldn't take for granted 'Cause love ones today are passing For somebody, we see them dying in war in a gas tank That exploded by a terroist We're losing our own fellow Americans And our world wide friends That are human beings tryin' to be living In peace but that's a tragedy to swallow again A daughter that isn't comin' home to her parents A brother that went over to try to make a living All the sacrifices are blessings 'Cause they died to give us protection But yet we always talk about the ice on our neck Or all the shine on our wrist Talkin' like a bunch of children Why do we have to lie in illness? Let's put the line on what we're building By making a perfect plan Getting the momentum in ya hand Is what seperates the wisdom from a boy to a man"
  13. Well my opinion is that no war is good, like Public Enemy says "Make Love F*** War", we are just repeating the same thing our ancestors went through, I thought that Bush was wrong to go to Iraq 'cause it wasn't our problem to go into in the first place, it takes more than one country to save the world, many young Americans are going over dying and it's the same ol' s*** there still, other countries bailing out to help, nothing's changing, 10 years from now it'll still be the same. We have to deal with issues right here in America like employment and social security and not just focus on the Iraq war 'cause I wanna be able to have enough to take care of my family during my life, I don't wanna have to be forced to go down the wrong path if I can't find myself a job one day, we could try to avoid the news and politics but they affect our lives, certain laws being passed could affect us in different ways. I have mixed emotion about politics because politics are very commercialized and a bunch of gimmicks, then Bill O'Reilly turns around to diss hip-hop when politics is the same way, a lot of complaining going on with promises but no solutions, that's my 2 cents for now. There's nothing wrong with having a conversation about politics or religion as long as nobody gets offended, we have to respect each others beliefs.
  14. We should redo the poll, it should be Nas, Dead Prez, Lauryn Hill, and Rakim 'cause they were the ones who were shouted out on the song.
  15. Um...1, Jay is never seen with a truck with rims in his video, Jay doesn't wear throwbacks, hasn't worn a Throwback since Blueprint, if you seen a Jay video, he barely has women in it, unless it caters to the song (Dirt Off My Shoulder, and Excuse Me Miss, etc.) Like I said, too many hate on Jay for no reason whatsoever, and as far as the classic comment? Wrong again, Jay has Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and Black Album, his albums (outside of The Dynasty) have all been above average. Like I said, the blatant hate for Jay, especially when, like I said before, especially when he's been true to himself as an emcee, and has not changed since the day his first album dropped (Except for his subject matter, but you cant speak on the same thing forever, you change, you grow up) Ya'll seriously need to stop being such hip hop purist, and like an artist for what they give you, ESPECIALLY if that artist is being himself and not just doing what sells.
  16. LL is at peace with himself now, he don't have to battle other rappers now if he don't want to, but if anyone comes after him, he could still end their careers. Did you actually listen to his last 2 albums? Even his worst albums "14 Shots To The Dome" and "10" are above average, he never came out with a garbage album. He still has a lot of skill left, "Feel The Beat" has more punchlines than Jay-Z' whole catalog in my opinion and how the hell could Jay-Z beat LL when he can't even beat Nas? : Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop [VERSE 1] When Def Jam signed me They hit the lottery It wasn't free but don't call it a robbery They underestimated me quite possibly It's like that when you a godfather B I'm the greatest of all time You heard that before But now when I say it It means so much more Cause It's so true No hype man, No crew No reason for ghost writers Every year I get tighter Mothers and daughters agree I'm on fire Check ya T-Mobile it's all over the wire Cross ya legs baby hide ya desire You think I'm hot You preaching to the choir Smiling and giggling Thirsting like Gilligan More flavor than cinnamon They rush with adrenaline I make 'em nervous I do it on purpose I come back hotter Every time I resurface Drop to ya knees baby Praise the king Now ask Russell Simmons Who built the west wing I ain't gotta be cocky I do the damn thing Paint ya girl with strawberry frosting Internationally known and respected You talk slick I'm too large to be affected You crank call my cells disconnected You keep slipping but my games perfected [HOOK] Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop [VERSE 2] I'm a star for real my aura is crazy Hollywood love me in the streets I'm gravy Born with a gift to inspire the hood You wanna out do me and I wish you would I'm the master separate from all these cats I'm laughin in '86 I balled like that Honey catching feeling from sittin in Maybachs Cause her project hall is smelling like Ajax That's understandable but everybody relax Hate when folk get money and don't know how to act I'm a multi millionaire homey that's a fact But it's not the ice that makes ya wife react Been had an entourage and platinum cards Been getting swedish massage in Boca Raton What you think all them years I ain't pop no Don Spend a night in Trump Towers with a blue eyed blonde I been did it all my Benzes was kitted When you talk like a baller you tickle me with it But yeah there's money out there come on lets get it But I'm a get it in such a way you never forget it Let's go twenty platinum albums in a row Sixty thousand fans a three hour show I could care less who drop and blow My name is LL baby that's beyond the flow [HOOK] Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop [VERSE 3] These rap cats get upset with me When security clear out the V.I.P If honey wanna lounge we gone see ID Ain't no negotiating you gone pay my fee I'm the boss I call the shots to keep it hot I don't have competition I'm bigger than the slot While you waste advances on grey market rocks I cop municipal bonds and Wal Mart stocks A family man but hard as a rock And I die for my kids so stay off my block They might be impressed with you but I'm not After all these years I still walk with a bop Still keep the ink hot Still scheme like a fox Still ready to battle You don't want your career stopped Industry shocked cause I mapped out a plot And ran around humble with my joint on cock [HOOK] Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all Freak freak y'all You don't stop After hearing all the crap on the radio, how could honestly say LL's washed up? :hilarious: I wasn't gonna say anymore, but you gotta respect LL for what's he's done, it's not like Jay-Z' gonna still put out a great album 10 years from now, LL probably still will be putting out more great albums as long as he's still living, stop hating on the legends.
  17. :werd: I don't know why they had to remake that, they were awful, it was so corny. :poke:
  18. I couldn't believe the Celtics won tonight, I thought they were done, I now say this series goes 7 games, flip a coin to who wins, the same could be said about the Rockets/Mavs series.
  19. I think Jay-Z has a lot of skills, but you just can't compare him to Rakim or LL, that's like comparing Lebron James and Vince Carter to Michael Jordan, it's a whole another level with Rakim and LL as far as clutchness is concerned, Jay-Z has potential to get there if he starts rhyming about more intelligent things, he's a lot like Eminem, Em has skills too, but what he rhymes about is meaningless now, he needs to step it up before he could get on FP's level.
  20. I don't think Jay-Z could come close to these conscious lyrics of Rakim, I never heard him spit somethin' as deep as "Follow The Leader", that song could come out today 'cause the rhyme structure's timeless too: Verse One: Follow me into a solo Get in the flow - and you can picture like a photo Music mixed mellow maintains to make Melodies for MC's motivates the breaks I'm everlastin, I can go on for days and days With rhyme displays that engrave deep as X-rays I can take a phrase that's rarely heard, FLIP IT Now it's a daily word I can get iller than 'Nam, a killin bomb But no alarm - Rakim will remain calm Self-esteem make me super superb and supreme But for a microphone still I fiend This was a tape I wasn't supposed to break I was supposed to wait, but let's motivate I want to see who can keep followin and swallowin Takin the making, bitin it and borrowin Brothers tried and others died to get the formula But I'ma let ya sweat - you still ain't warm You a step away from frozen, stiff as if ya posin Dig into my brain as the rhyme gets chosen So follow me and were ya thinkin' you were first? Let's travel at magnificent speeds around the Universe What could ya say as the Earth gets further and further away Planets are small as balls of clay Astray into the Milky Way - world's outasight Far as the eye can see - not even a satellite Now stop and turn around and look As ya stare in the darkness, ya knowledge is took! So keep starin soon ya suddenly see a star You better follow it cause it's the R This is a lesson if ya guessin and if ya borrowin Hurry hurry step right up and keep followin The Leader Verse Two: This is a lifetime mission, vision of prison Aight listen In this journey you're the journal I'm the journalist Am I Eternal? Or an eternalist? I'm about to flow long as I can possibly go Keep ya movin cause the crowd said so Dance - cuts rip ya pants Eric B on the blades, bleedin to death - call the ambulance Pull out my weapon and start to squeeze A magnum as a microphone murderin' MC's Let's quote a rhyme from a record I wrote (follow the leader) Yeah - dope Cause everytime I stop it seems ya stuck Soon as ya try to step off ya self-destruct I came to overcome before I'm gone By showin and provin and lettin knowledge be born Then after that I'll live forever - you disagree? You say never? Then follow me! From century to century you'll remember me In history - not a mystery or a memory God by nature, mind raised in Asia Since you was tricked, I have to raise ya From the cradle to the grave, but remember You're not a slave Cause we was put here to be much more than that But we couldn't see it because our mind was trapped But I'm here to break away the chains, take away the pains Remake the brains, reveal my name I guess nobody told you a little knowledge is dangerous It can't be mixed, diluted; it can't be changed or switched Here's a lesson if ya guessing and borrowing Hurry hurry, step right up and keep following The leader Verse Three: A furified freestyle, lyrics of fury My third eye makes me shine like jewelry You're just a rent-a-rapper, your rhymes are minute-maid I'll be here when it fade to watch you flip like a renegade I can't wait to break and eliminate On every traitor or snake - so stay awake and follow and follow, because the tempo's a trail The stage is a cage, the mic is a third rail I'm Rakim the Fiend of a Microphone I'm not HIM, so leave my mic alone Soon as the beat is felt, I'm ready to go So fasten your seatbelt, cause I'm about to flow No need to speed slow down to let the leader lead Word to daddy, indeed! The R's a rollin stone, so I'm rollin Directions is told, then the rhymes are stolen Stop buggin', a brother said, dig em, I never dug 'em He couldn't follow the leader long enough so I drug 'em into danger zone, he should arrange his own Face it, it's basic, erase it, change ya tone There's one R in the alphabet It's a one-letter word and it's about to get More complex from one rhyme to the next Eric B be easy on the flex I've been from state to state, followers tailgate Keep comin but you came too late, but I'll wait So back up, regroup, get a grip, come equipped You're the next contestant - clap ya hands, you won a trip! The price is right - don't make a deal too soon How many notes could you name this tune? Follow the Leader is the title, theme, task Now ya know, you don't have to ask Rap is Rhythm And Poetry, cuts create sound effects You might catch up if you follow the records E. wrecks Until then keep eatin and swallowin You better take a deep breath and keep followin The leader.
  21. Basically every album Rakim has dropped is a classic, "Reasonable Doubt" is Jay-Z only legitamate classic, Will needs to work with legends like himself not inconsistant mcs 'cause he's a legend and Jay-Z ain't on their level, even though he doesn't suck as bad as most rappers now, he's retrired now anyway. Mos Def only released 2 albums in 6 years. even though they're both hot, he has to put more work in. I wouldn't mind if Jay-Z or Mos Def did a song with Will but I'm anticipating a collabo with LL and Rakim more than those 2. btw, these lines could be used to diss Jay-Z: "Truck with rims, check Champange Bottles, check Throwback jerseys, check Lots of models, damn that's the list for 90% of your videos and songs Am I wrong?" That's actually online towards what Nas said in "Ether" "Y'all deal with emotions like bitches What's sad is I love you 'cause you're my brother You traded your soul for riches"
  22. I bet the ones that voted for Jay-Z probably never heard much of Rakim's stuff, he's one of the most conscious mcs to get on the mic, Jay-Z can't compare to what Rakim has done, btw, LL is as versatile as FP is on the mic I don't think there's a song that LL can't do, he could drop some knowledge on the track, but it's great as it is already.
  23. :werd: to that! btw, I got on LL Cool J "Hush"
  24. you really think they'd play a serious song about how bad the rap game is now..the radio stations are the ones playin all that trash!! man i wish!
