  1. Hieroglyphics "Soweto", off the NBA2K5 soundtrack :afro:
  2. Isn't Busta Rhymes on the track too? It should be Nas feat. Busta Rhymes, I think it'd been better if Busta actually had a verse on there 'cause that track could of used that extra energy, anyway since I saw the post about Nas here I threw on "Street's Disciple" and I'm listening to: Nas "U.B.R."(Unauthorized Biography Of Rakim), great track, I love how much he respects the ol' school, all his favorites are my favorites, it'd be cool if he did a song about JJFP :thumb:
  3. Well those sales sound pretty good for now here in the US consider mostly everyone here likes gangsta rap, so how is it doing in other countries?
  4. This track is better than all songs out now combined(except "Switch" of course) and should be #1 on the charts, did it even go top 40 yet? Yeah this album's definately worth buying and listening to although if it was shorter it'd been a classic according to what hip-hop fans say on hip-hop forums and I agree with them on that, I still think "God's Son" is his best album since "Illmatic". Nas doesn't really get a lot of promotion but he proved that could do well if he wanted to, it reminds me of the situation that KRS had on Jive records, basically every rapper was dumped off of Jive that all sold more than KRS did, and now Nas is the only rapper on Columbia even though everyone had more fame than him, which seems to be turning into a pop label now too, I think Nas will take the KRS path and just sell albums off of Ill Will Records after awhile, he ain't in it for the fame, although I wish they were 'cause they could easily knock off pop rappers if they chose to. FP, Nas, LL(they're the only mainstream rappers I bought CDs from in the last year) and a few other mcs should put their money together and start their own big hip-hop label where they could promote themselves to put Def Scam and Aftermath out of buisiness. :poke:
  5. Well Columbia really ruined FP's credability in hip-hop the most and made him more of a pop rapper image rather than lettin' him be the hip-hop mc he's always been but they did give him a lot of promotion and lackluster production by The Trackmasters on occasions that kept those albums from being perfect classics, "Big Willie Style" sold more than all JJFP CDs combined, but I think cred is more important than sales, and they f****d up his image. FP's making 20 million a film though, he should be able to get Overbrook going even stronger and promote himself, he would actually do better doing that.
  6. Busta Rhymes "Throw Ya Hands Where My Eyes Can See", classic hip-hop track, the video was too! :afro:
  7. Nuff props for posting that, I agree with most of that, most rappers are kissin' ass to sell records, JJFP are are only one of few that set a positive example for the hip-hop community but they don't get much airplay, and god forbid if we ever heard a conscious KRS song on the radio, if you turn on the radio all you hear is songs that sound like advertisements. :poke:
  8. How could a collabo with Michael Jackson not make the cut, that'd been legendary, and possible coulda been the best video ever made. :ali:
  9. I listen to underground hip-hop too Royce doesn't blow me away, you could tell Eminem bit his style from Royce, but Aceyalone would destroy both of them in my opinion, which of course could be another discussion, all of you who think Eminem originated his rhyme scheme are wrong 'cause he bites off of many, when he 1st started rapping 15 years ago he had his own scheme, but he sucked so he started biting off of others.
  10. JJFP "I'm Lookin' For The One"(To Be With Me)
  11. Yeah I couldn't imagine myself listening to only one artist all the time, there's a lot of great music out there, even though not much on the radio to choose from when it comes to quality music, if you like JJFP you might like listening to LL Cool J, Run-Dmc, Slick Rick, Rakim, Beastie Boys, KRS-ONE, BBD, Guy, and Public Enemy to name a few great legends that came out when JJFP did, and as far as today's artists you might like DMX, Nas, Outkast, The Roots, Ginuwine, Faith Evans, and Talib Kweli to name a few, maybe not 'cause we all have different tastes. :poke:
  12. Check on the Big Will forum, I think it was a couple weeks before the album dropped.
  13. In a radio interview Tim posted here, Will said he's pullin' for CWebb to bring the Sixers a championship.
  14. Here was my 1st post over a year ago: "I'm lookin' forward to that Big Will album 'cause he needs to show the Hip-Hop world that his game is deeper than any M.C. out right now, he's too underrated, I never hear any of his songs on Hot 97 or Power 105! " Damn somethings never change, black radio still ain't playing him but his game is deeper than any other mc! :werd:
  15. I ain't a big baseball fan but let's go Mets! :ridepony:
  16. That was hilarious! :hilarious: It's sad how much of a fool this rapper could make of himself seriously though.
  17. :werd: Too much gimmicks now, I feel that message there, you got heart to fight back, we need more mcs out there like that! :ali: Like KRS once said: "Hip-hop is not a product like pants and sweaters"
  18. Yeah when you make songs about things that matters to you it becomes more than just a song, it's sort of a reflection of your soul, that's why I like reading your songs 'cause I can understand what you're thinking too. :peace:
  19. If Common dissed Nas he's sellin' out 'cause you don't diss somebody you said you respect! :speechless:
  20. I can't figure out why would Common diss Nas 'cause they were hangin' out together with Chuck D a couple weeks ago in the UK! :confused3:
  21. I was thinkin' maybe it was an italian word 'cause sometimes rappers put other languages in their songs, my bad, I did hear about Mirage and Taj Mahal being casinos though.
  22. That's another way of sayin' big willie, being the top man in charge. :afro:
