That's a wonderful idea AJ, maybe Tim could relay the message for you. :thumb:

You gotta be kiddin' me, FP bitin' Eminem's style? This writer must be smokin' too much crack, FP has originated his style and raps about his life, I haven't heard the album yet, but I wouldn't imagine FP tryin' to sound like somebody that he's not.

Aight I was over my head when I posted those comments but that was my reaction when I saw Jazzy Jeff credited for one track, of course though Will could hold his own too as a solo artist but I think he's even more phenominal when he teams up with Jazzy Jeff, this is hip-hop's version of Jordan and Pippen here, even "Big Willie Style" wouldn't have had that much success if Jazzy Jeff didn't work on nearly half the albums tracks, so with that being said with Jazzy Jeff being on only one track, this album will not be one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made like I was thinkin' it'd be(I personally don't think he'll ever top "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" anyway, that set the standard for the JJFP legacy, it's like Nas with "Illmatic"and KRS' 'Criminal Minded'), but it'll probably be the best album released in recent years, which is good enough for me 'cause I even liked "Born To Reign", Will could never appear wack to me, he's too damn consistant! :peace:

Run-Dmc "It's Tricky", my favorite Run-Dmc song, their "Raising Hell" album is one of the greatest albums ever made in music period

I was just jokin' around there, I'm not seriously going through my collection, I don't think it matters, the wording on all album credits are different though on each album, but if it says written by: the artist's name should come 1st following with the producer and/or co-writers if any, and then the names of any people that they sampled comes finally, sometimes though on album credits it doesn't say written by, so that means it go in any order if you see names in just parenthesis. I'll give a quick example if you don't understand what I just said, let's say I was a producer and I produced a song for Will Smith and we sampled a James Brown song, the order would go like this: Written By Will Smith, Gracia Miller Jr.(that's my real name), James Brown Or it could be like in any order like this(G.Miller Jr., J. Brown, W. Smith)

Or PA could stand for Philly Ace. On the cover of KRS-ONE's "Sneak Attack" album, there's a sticker on it sayin' "Hip-Hop Advisory: Equisitte Lyrics". :ridepony:

Well maybe it doesn't fit 'cause it's the only JJFP track on the album, maybe FP should just leave Jazzy Jeff off the album right? :eek4: -
Hold on let me go through my 200+ album collection real fast and I'll get back to you. :kekeke:

Well Al Sharpton has been pissed about the state of hip-hop ever since that 50/Game publicity stunt: "Sharpton Complains to FCC About Rap Music WASHINGTON - The Rev. Al Sharpton, upset about violence in rap music, asked the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday to punish artists and radio stations connected with violent acts. Artists connected to such acts should be denied airplay on radio and television for 90 days, he told reporters after meeting with FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and two other commissioners. He also urged the agency to fine and review the licenses of radio stations "that encourage a pattern of this, including allowing employees to do on-the-air inciting of violence." "The outrage of the pattern of violence that has occurred at radio stations requires some action," Sharpton said. "What has been absent is some kind of government move to stop these actions happening on federally regulated radio stations." A spokesman for Martin declined to comment. Andrew Jay Schwartzman, president of the Media Access Project, a public interest law firm, said Sharpton's suggestions could trample on free speech protections and may not fall under the regulatory jurisdiction of the FCC. "They pose tremendous First Amendment problems," he said. "It's very hard to come up with a standard that works. The bottom line is this is not something the FCC was created or equipped to handle." Sharpton has been especially vocal since a bitter feud broke out between artists 50 Cent and The Game last month. A member of The Game's crew was wounded during a shooting outside a New York hip-hop radio station while 50 Cent was on air criticizing The Game. Grammy-winning hip-hop star Lil' Kim could face years in prison when she is sentenced in June after being convicted last week for lying about a shootout outside the same New York radio station. Sharpton also met with Democratic FCC members Michael Copps and Jonathan Adelstein. "We welcomed the opportunity to discuss media violence," Copps said. "The issue of violence in the media was one the commission ought to take more seriously." -
I think Will already has the status of legendary, don't you? :werd: Of course I do and I always will, he's one of my inspirations, but I'm just a lil' dissappointed after reading that there's only gonna be one track that Jazzy Jeff produced on this album 'cause I thought that the delay of the album meant that they were gonna do more tracks on it, but I guess not, I'm just talkin' a lil' bit over my head right now 'cause I'm surprised, oh well quality's better than quanity and at least they're still performing together.
-
That's unfortunate, my condolences. :tear:

Well I told a couple of peeps around my way who like ol' school hip-hop about "Lost and Found" and there being some JJFP tracks on it, but they're gonna be dissapointed when they find out it's only one track now like I am. I don't even think I'm as excited as I was about the album now that there's only one JJFP track but I'm surely more excited about it than anything else comin' out, FP will never be placed on a legendary level in hip-hop though if he doesn't go back to do more tracks with Jazzy Jeff 'cause their chemistry is flawless than what anyone else in hip-hop's doing.
-
"Here He Comes" should've been called "Here They Come" referring to both JJFP, did Will at least even mention Jazzy Jeff in the song at all? This sucks, the kids still won't even know who Jazzy Jeff is now! :mad8: Well there better be a JJFP tour still 'cause if he released this album and went straight back to movies, I would lose some respect for him 'cause that ain't keepin' it real to the JJFP fans.
-
Well Beanie Siegal's in jail, so he might get more sales since controversey sells records, he's also from Philly too, and there's quite a buzz for his album too, so it's gonna be a battle of Philly mcs next week, but of course the king of Philly, Will Smith is gonna come out on top! :ali:
-
There's only one JJFP track? That's dissapointing, I was hoping there'd be at least 5 JJFP tracks, I can't understand how all those songs they worked on to make the album didn't make the cut, I would rather have the Ludacris song miss the cut, I hope that the bounus tracks are JJFP tracks. :toetap: I don't wanna see Will do another movie now until a JJFP album comes out. :poke:

How could the intro be weak? I thought it was a JJFP track, anything that JJFP does is classic, I loved hearing that rhyme on Tim Westwood's show and I'm sure I'll love it even more with a Jazzy Jeff beat backing the rhyme up 'cause I'm sure he could come up with a better beat than "How We Do", I can't wait until I hear it. -
Thanks for the news but I don't think it's fair to talk 'bout Will doing a new movie yet 'cause the "Lost and Found" CD hasn't even released yet, he needs to take some time off of filming to do a tour/promotion of the album 1st, hip-hop needs Will more than ever right now
-
Yo man that's foul, we don't wanna see FP get shot, it'd be nice to see one mc grow old with us for real. Anyway on the topic now, I think that FP should hook up the diehard fans like us with these left over songs in the future on his website he could sell mixtapes to the fans, I'm sure they're better than the best songs that most mcs make.
-
I doubt it was a bigger classic than "Boom Shake The Room!", I never heard the track so I wouldn't know. :cwm: I personally think people throw around that word classic too much these days, but that's another discussion we should have. Yeah I don't think there's nothin' wrong with giving props, I do that too when I write rhymes, I'll give props to all my favorites like JJFP, Nas, 2Pac, Chuck D, LL Cool J, and Rakim, but I doubt FP would bite, he said it himself before on "My Buddy": "Please stop biting, please don't immitate", so why would he bite then? I'm sure the "Lost and Found" song sounds nothin' like Royce 5'9's "Boom"
-
:werd: Run-Dmc's "Crown Royal" had a PA label on it but it was still the same positive Run-Dmc hip-hop as usual, I don't think JJFP would ever make songs about killing people and raping women, they'll keep the music positive still. :peace: Now if they did negative music about killing and raping, then I'd be dissapointed. :mad8:

I thought Eminem said a line similar 1st in a song if I'm not mistaken, maybe not, someone could've said that before, well everyone says "Yes Yes Y'all" and "Somethin' Like Dis" too, there's millions of songs out there that we don't know, a lot of lines in hip-hop get repeated over without even realising, I write a lot of rhymes myself but I could've of wrote some rhymes that somebody else I never listen to might've said before and I wouldn't know.

My real name is Gracia(pronounced Gra-cha) Miller Jr, my nickname is Teddy(the same as my father), and my hip-hop name is Big Ted.

I wasn't gonna respond anymore in this debate but I personally find it hard to believe that if you knew the history of hip-hop you'd still rank Em anywhere near FP, what did Em originate? lyricism exsisted way before him and even before FP, but FP has kept it more real to the essence of having fun and positive and being a good role model for hip-hop and that's keepin' it real and help take hip-hop to a multi-billion buisiness that existed when Em came in the game, this is why Afrika Bambataa's created of hip-hop(read your history y'all) to clean up the streets, while Em just raps about killing people and is the reason why hip-hop gets criticized by the media. I have to ask y'all Em fans, have you ever heard of Busy Bee, Run-Dmc, Melle Mel, and Kurtis Blow? These cats originated the essence of lyricism even before FP, KRS, and Rakim came along, sure their rhymes are ol' school and simple, but it was all original and you have to respect the pioneers the most 'cause if wasn't for them Em would still be living in his trailer park and flipping burgers right now, he wouldn't know what hip-hop is, and that's real. :poke: I respect everyone's opinion, just learn your hip-hop history! :peace:

I would keep it real and still buy it, I understand that he has to be more aggressive to get more street heads to feel him, I think this album "Lost and Found" could do it already though so I don't think that'd happen, but I ain't gonna be mad at that if it happened, as long as he puts KRS-ONE, Chuck D, and LL with him on the JJFP reunion album.
