  1. Agreed! There could be other tracks on the album that are better suited to be released as videos! All I hope is that out of the songs he decides to release as videos, I hope that there is one serious song amongst it! Yeah I think a serious song should definately be released as a single to show a different side to Will that the public doesn't always see so they assume that he's just a party rapper, but it'd dope if there was another party track released for the summer like "Pump Ya Brakes" as well. :kool: Well the better this album does, the more dope singles we'll get.
  2. :werd: This a great that the single's doing so well without radio play, which shows that radio doesn't dominate as much as they claim to do. :wiggle:
  3. Hey I ain't no wimp, why you talking like that? There's a lot of great posts here in this forum compared to other hip-hop forums, but on occasion we might have some idiotic posts, but don't diss me 'cause of what another fan says, that ain't my opinion. I got no beef with Ludacris on the track. This topic here is being filled with a lot of meaningless posts now and should be locked. :nono:
  4. Even though I like JJFP that doesn't mean that I'm gonna feel every clean-cut rapper 'cause I don't like every gangsta rapper either even though I think 2Pac was one of the greatest mcs ever. Talent/skills are more than just about cursing or not cursing in your songs, you either got it or you don't. I'll be open to give Nitty a listen though and see what he sounds like.
  5. We should vote for it to go on 106 & Park too between now and 5:30 PM EST tomorrow, I watch once in a while to see if they show "Switch", so far they ain't playin' it, we gotta get it on there at #1 also! :ridepony:
  6. Kurtis Blow "Hard Times", one of hip-hop's 1st conscious songs
  7. I gotta admit that's better than the rumored version of "Mr. Nice Guy" that was garbage, I wouldn't mind if this one was true though, that looks like somethin' I'd write except I wouldn't say the n word that much, that has better punchlines than Fat Joe's and Jadakiss' confirmed disses, a lot of peeps are actually hopin' those lyrics are legit, if y'all want I could post the audio for Jadakiss' "Checkmate Freestyle" and Fat Joe's "F*** 50", it's roaming around on some of these hip-hop forums anyway though. The more I think about it 50 Cent reminds me of this guy I knew from high school a couple years ago that always thought he was better than everyone, but he was the oldest guy in my graduating class, I wrote somethin' about him, this could sorta be dedicated to 50 too 'cause he's always runnin' his mouth like that punk: "Let's get on the subject How many girls wanna f*** with Guys like you that just diss All you talk about is f****n' them Bringin' disrespect towards them And the amount of girls I have sex with Is something now that's none of your damn business We're not puttin' it in the aftermath of discussing I'm not down with something that's quick and fast Recognize how I'm a thug wit class You want someone to give it up I want someone to give me love Teddy isn't a scrub Don't get mad at me just 'cause I don't rap like I need a slut And when you're lame and broke How is it that you'll pay for a hoe? Everything you say is a joke Which is slaid from a flow Comin' straight off the dome You got jealously from my rappin' You won't stop me from slidin' cash in Which will fill my needs of buying mansions And then models will be offering me lap dances Compared to you, I'll be the one that's mackin' My system is at a constant runnin' Your's is at a malfuction You'll attract nothin' I'm getting' education, while you're sittin' and waitin' It ain't about who looks better You should remember In this world, it's all about cheddar Talkin' like you got more hype than everybody Right now just 'cause you're old enough to buy Bacardi Without an I.D. Is not enough to fry anybody This is how I complete the end of this song at ya With a point of how you're not a comedian or a rapper And I speak more facts than ya"
  8. It's been a great year for us here as fans, this comin' year is gonna be even better. :peace:
  9. Well a lot of the big home run hitters in major league baseball over the last 15 years have been using steroids, I'd call that actin' fake too, check this article I found at espn.com: "Steroid allegations overshadow achievements By Buster Olney, ESPN The Magazine A newspaper report linking Mark McGwire to steroid use in the early 1990s all but guarantees that steroids will be as much a part of the former St. Louis Cardinals slugger's legacy as home runs, and adds more bulk to the evidence that -- from 1988 to 2004 -- baseball was thick with artificially enhanced stars. Mark McGwire hasn't announced his decision on whether he'll appear at the March 17 hearing on steroids. McGwire was known only for the home runs in the marvelous season of 1998, a year in which he wrecked Roger Maris' single-season record of 61 and finished with an incredible 70. Even an Associated Press story that summer about how he used Andro -- a steroid precursor -- did not dampen the enthusiasm. McGwire repeatedly denied using steroids, well into his retirement. Now the New York Daily News has records that allegedly detail McGwire's steroid use, with the newspaper report coming on the heels of Jose Canseco's published assertions of steroid use by Major League Baseball players. Dating to 1988, the American League and National League have distributed a total of 34 MVP awards. Of those, the winners of 13 -- almost 40 percent -- have been linked in some way to the steroid controversy, either through personal admissions, grand jury testimony, published accusations or congressional subpoenas. In the same way, the six greatest single-season home run performances in baseball history -- three seasons of 63 or more by Sammy Sosa; two seasons of 65 and 70 by McGwire; and the 73 homers Barry Bonds clubbed in 2001 -- have been linked in some way to the steroid controversy. There may be many more revelations to come -- and, ironically, probably for the same reason that some of the steroid users injected themselves: Money. The best-selling success of Canseco's book has demonstrated that anybody who claims to have inside knowledge and is willing to speak out -- and perhaps tell stories about former teammates -- can make some money. As the Daily News story demonstrates, we may be hearing more from personal trainers and steroid suppliers. All indications are that this controversy won't deter most fans from paying to see games. Even as steroid suspicions swirled around Bonds last summer, the San Francisco Giants led the NL in road attendance as fans presumably flocked to see the player who will probably finish his career as the game's most prolific home run-hitter. But the achievements of Bonds, Giambi, Caminiti and now McGwire will always be viewed through a clouded prism, instead of through the pure crystal that we remember Aaron, Mays, Robinson and Ruth. Standing among the living members of 500-home run club before the All-Star Game last summer, commissioner Bud Selig proclaimed this was a golden age of baseball. Since then, two sluggers with him that day have been directly implicated with steroid use and another has been called to testify about steroids. And history is destined to recall this period as baseball's Steroid Era."
  10. If it's got the video I might get the single though I'm hoping that the album might have the video with it as well, if it doesn't I might buy the single, but I'm kinda low on cash myself right now, I got the money for the "Lost and Found" stashed away already so I don't think about spendin' it right now on somethin' else. :kekeke:
  11. 50 Cent called out Nas too but I don't think that he'll respond, Nas said that he needs a better opponent and is working on his new album so I don't think he's gonna waste his time on 50 Cent and stoop to his level, he don't need to 'cause he's one of the most respected mcs out now, even LL and JJFP gives Nas props, although I heard rumors about him doing a song called "Affirmative Action" as a 50 Cent diss but it hasn't been confirmed yet(it can't be true though 'cause he did a song called "Affirmative Action' already on "It Was Written") I don't understand how lambert could be a JJFP fan if he's only making posts recently about defending 50 Cent, considering that "Lost and Found"'s coming out in 2 weeks, but he hasn't mentioned one thing about being excited about that.
  12. Yeah that's good that he finally got caught, you just don't know why some people act the way they do, you gotta constantly watch ya back. :speechless:
  13. Naughty By Nature "Family Tree", this is such a deep song.
  14. Yeah it is, but it's gonna backfire on 50 if he actually thinks he could beat anybody, he can't even beat Ja Rule, Ja Rule actually keeps it more real than 50 does it seems. There ain't no real good battles out there anymore 'cause there's too much jealousy and :blabla: by so many mainstream rappers. If Jadakiss and Fat Joe were battlin' a real mc with those lines they wouldn't stand a chance but they're burnin' 50 easily. On that note, I can't wait till I hear Will's "Mr. Nice Guy" where there'll be strong punchlines at all the haters, I wish they could leak that out to the public early, that'd set all these cats straight! :ali:
  15. :werd: 50's actually making rappers like Fat Joe and Jadakiss more bearable to listen to, he really is turnin' into a disgrace. :poke:
  16. :werd: Family comes 1st, my prayers go out to him as well.
  17. I found this over at cnn.com Atlanta manhunt moves beyond carjacked Honda Officials fear suspect in three killings may have taken a hostage Saturday, March 12, 2005 Posted: 9:38 AM EST (1438 GMT) Suspect Brian Nichols appears in this surveillance video taken Friday morning at an Atlanta parking garage. CHARGES IN NICHOLS TRIAL • Rape • False imprisonment • Aggravated sodomy • Burglary • Aggravated assault with intent to rape • Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Security camera images from inside a parking garage have given investigators their latest lead in the hunt for a man wanted in the courthouse killings of a judge, a court reporter and a sheriff's deputy. But the photos failed to show how he made his getaway. The suspect, 33-year-old Brian Nichols, is wanted in the shooting deaths of Judge Rowland W. Barnes, court reporter Julie Ann Brandau and deputy sheriff Hoyt Teasley. The nationwide manhunt for Nichols shifted focus late Friday with the discovery that the 1997 Honda Accord police had earlier thought was used for the getaway, was still in the garage where he carjacked it from a newspaper reporter after the courthouse shootings. The garage's lower level exit gate, used only by parkers with monthly passes, was broken and detectives told CNN they believe Nichols crashed through it after taking another car on that level. But they have not ruled out the possibility that he may have walked out of the garage. A series of photos taken by two stairwell cameras show a shirtless Nichols putting on a jacket apparently taken from the reporter as he walked to a lower level and disappeared. No camera was in position to capture what happened when Nichols exited the stairwell. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan says the fear now is Nichols may have taken another vehicle, and its owner as hostage, soon after abandoning the Honda. "That is of concern to us," Keenan said. "We know that in the previous carjacking he had ordered the driver of the vehicle to get in the automobile that he was carjacking. We are very concerned that is a possibility that has happened." There have been no missing person reports, Keenan said. "We do not know what type of vehicle he is now operating," Keenan said. "We do not know how he left from here." Keenan described the manhunt for Nichols as the largest in Georgian history. But it was a private citizen who realized Friday night the 1997 Honda they were looking for was still in the Centennial garage, just blocks from the Fulton County Courthouse where the shootings occurred. It apparently had never been moved. That garage was where a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said the Honda was taken from him following the shootings. The shootings occurred about 9 a.m., as Nichols was being led into an eighth-floor courtroom, Dreher said. Nichols was being retried on rape, false imprisonment and other charges after a first trial last week ended in a hung jury. The second trial began Monday. Nichols apparently overpowered a deputy in an elevator on their way to the courtroom, police said. Jeffrey Salamone, attending trauma surgeon at Grady Memorial Hospital, said the deputy escorting Nichols suffered a graze wound from a gunshot. Salamone said Cynthia Hall has a small bruise on her brain and some fractures around her face. She was in critical condition, but was expected to survive. Once inside the courtroom, police said, Nichols held people in the room at bay briefly, then shot Judge Barnes and Brandau -- both of whom died at the scene. Nichols then fled the building, where outside he shot Sgt. Teasley in the abdomen, officials said. The sheriff's deputy was pronounced dead at the hospital, Salamone said. A witness told CNN Nichols took his tow truck at gunpoint near the courthouse. The gunman "told me to get out of the truck. I told him he can have the truck. And I walked away," Deronta Franklin said. Atlanta police said they have set up a tip line at 404-730-7983 and 404-730-7984. Law enforcement officials are offering rewards totaling $60,000 in the case. Courthouse security Some said the shooting was predictable given the security lapses at the courthouse. "The security in the Fulton County Courthouse, the way they deal with prisoners, is absolutely atrocious," attorney Dennis Scheib told CNN. "I said this was going to happen." Scheib said deputies outside the courthouse told him that a knife-like weapon was discovered in Nichols' boot last week. Fulton County State Court Judge Craig Schwall, however, described security at the courthouse as "phenomenal." Judges have their own private elevator, accessible only by key card, he said. Their chambers are heavily secured, he said, and they and other court officials have their own secure parking garage. "I think that, as public servants, we all have to be mindful of these risks," Schwall said. "The only thing I can imagine is that someone would have had to have moved very quickly and suddenly to catch one of the deputies off guard in order to remove his weapon," said attorney B. J. Bernstein. Well-respected judge Bernstein told CNN that Judge Barnes, who presided over civil and criminal cases, was "extremely highly thought of in the legal community." Last month, Barnes made headlines when he ordered a 34-year-old woman, who had seven children and pleaded guilty to killing the eighth, a newborn, to undergo sterilization. He was a vocal advocate of Fulton County's supervised rehabilitation clinics, an alternative for jail for repeat offenders with drug addictions. Barnes touted the program for its cost-effectiveness. A juror in Nichols' trial told CNN that Barnes was kind, and said Nichols always seemed to be respectful to him."
  18. Well of course a bunch of lil' kids are postin' over at emptyv.com's board, they probably never heard of any of the JJFP, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, or Big Daddy Kane music if they're gonna call G Unit hip-hop legends. On another note, Jadakiss dissed 50 Cent hard in "Checkmate Freestyle", I ain't a big fan of his but I gotta give him props here, check this out: "You did it baby! Congratulations homie! You made history. 1.1 million in a short week. [laughs] Screw a press conference, press this on your conscience. It's gonna be a real ugly summer, man."
  19. I think JJFP sampled the instrumentals of "As We Go" from an older song.
  20. FP has different opinions on hip-hop then we do, but of course he'd have a lot of respect for the cats that he grew up listenin' to and toured with in the late '80s, he ain't gonna diss them, maybe those younger mcs out now that we think are snakes in the industry might actually be nice people, but of course though with this negativity criticism of hip-hop's image, I'm sure FP's frustrated from it, we don't know them personally but FP does and as far as the WS message board is concerned, it needs a miracle, women have the right to say Will's hot lookin' though 'cause us guys like to talk about how fine Beyonce and J-Lo are, there ain't nothin' wrong with that, just don't take it to the extreme, I ain't gonna lose any sleep over that board though, I tried postin there yesterday but I see that there's too much bull**** there and I won't post there anymore unless major progress is made. Ol' school legends like JJFP, Chuck D, LL Cool J, and KRS just care about seein' hip-hop move forward and are really open minded individuals that give everyone a chance to shine 'cause they love the game.
  21. I wanted to post the lyrics to this KRS-ONE song called "Hot" where he breaks down the sucker mcs in the hip-hop game: Yeah Who will be standing when the smoke clears? (KRS-One) --> Redman Word up! What's up with this? We're coming through Boogie Down style, kid What's up This is KRS-One The light at the end of the tunnel Yo, they not HOT, all they do is talk a lot That's not HOT, where's your respect on the block? That's HOT, not cause you're friends with the cops That's not HOT, a real MC you're not I'm HOT, been hot, repeatedly heated Don't call the teacher, hah, you best be seated You got these kids gased up like you own the inventory Fake muthaf****s ain't tellin the whole story Tell em how you borrow from everyone you knew And now that you're on top, they can't borrow from you That's not hot, tell em how you love bein pop Cause you was so broke before, sleepin cold on a cot You don't rock, you grab money Your crocks rock the spot and you grab them honeys It's about to get ugly I don't even go to these bull**** kiddie-ass clubs You wanna be a thug? Let's thug First of all, soldiers speak to soldiers Captains speak to captains Lieutenant/lieutenant, cool? But your first mistake is: he's steppin to me, rookie Like you a O.G. and you just a run-up, fool Who really got these streets on lock? Whose name really holds high respect on the block? Who opened up these clubs and taught you how to mix? Who opened up these thugs from Compton to the Bricks? I don't even sound like the rest of you kiddies I study the ways of God, you studyin t*****s And ass, I pity your class Cause you come out with a blast But you're trash, so you really don't last They not HOT, all they do is talk a lot That's not HOT, where's your respect on the block? That's HOT, not cause you're friends with the cops That's not HOT, a real MC you're not They not HOT, all they do is talk a lot That's not HOT, where's your respect on the block? That's HOT, not cause you're friends with the cops That's not HOT, a real MC you're not This is hotter than heat, too deep, I'm on top of the streets You weak, you ain't really rockin these beats You ?????, you dress straight, eat straight But you're a slave, and yo, you can't come up in a heat tank G-o-d we thank, we watch what we sell You better hope these Christians are wrong cause you goin to hell Think about that when you're spittin your raps And you call out KRS, I'll put you flat on your back You're not HOT, all you do is talk a lot That's not HOT, where's your respect on the block? That's HOT, not cause you're friends with the cops That's not HOT, a real MC you're not What's HOT? (KRS-One) That's HOT! What's HOT? (KRS-One) That's HOT! Who's HOT? (KRS-One) That's HOT! Where's your respect on the block? [ *scratching of* ] (KRS-One need to be runnin for office So Butta-Pican Rican, tell em to get off it) --> Redman
