I think that the 60s/70s was the best time period in soul music, that music laid the foundation for hip-hop to be originated, my parents love the soul from that time and I do too, it was ahead of its time, unlike a lot of the disposable r&b out now, the r&b game is about as bad as the hip-hop game is now, a lot of the soul is gone now, everything seems flashy now/uncreative and most of the songs have no meaning to them.

Great news! :thumb:

Most great hip-hop albums don't go platinum or gold, so I don't really give a f*** how much "Lost and Found" sells as long as he keeps his hip-hop credability and is a classic hip-hop album, I think the rappers that top the charts have no credability in hip-hop anymore, only suburban cats that ain't hip-hop fans listen to them now, they only like pimp and hoe crap, they're pop rappers, not mcs. FP should focus on making Overbrook a bigger independant force in the music industry and he won't need a major label ever again. :ditto:

Keep the countdown rolling! :switch:

I think a lot of trades being made actually benefitted the Eastern Conference teams the most, people saying the East is a weak conference won't be saying that anymore. I figured that the Hawks would release Payton 'cause they got about 5 point guards already, their team's too small now, that's why they lose a lot of games.

Yeah a lot of r&b is watered down these days, I think that the late '80s through mid '90s r&b was better than it is now, I still like Keith Sweat, New Edition, Guy, Toni Braxton, and Boyz II Men, if they get better production and promotion on their albums they could still be dominating the r&b charts. The one r&b album I really wanna buy is that Brian Mcknight album, Omarion hasn't really impress me too much, but maybe I'll give this album a listen though eventually.

Thanks for the feedback, I could've rhymed it a lil' better but I wasn't really that concerned with the rhyme structure there I just wanted to get my point across and build a strong song what's the point in having multiple syllables if the song doesn't mean anything? I'll record this in due time like in due time I'll find my soul mate, this would probably be one of the 1st songs I'd record, I think it's that good, every word in that song I wrote came straight from my heart. That Chuck D line was used in the '87 PE song called "Sophisticated Bitch" off their debut album "Yo! Bum Rush The Show", that song has a lil' different concept, it refers to girls that sleep around with rich guys but then turn around to act all sweet and innocent, it still happens today. Basically in that song I sum up my experiences in my life, my father gives me a lot of advice when it comes to the opposite sex, he basically tells me that I should just focus on my talent and build up my knowledge and gradually I'll find the one for me, love shouldn't be forced. I see the reason why it's so hard to find love is from peeps actin' harder than they really are, this pimp and hoe game that men and women play is a major reason why, going around like this doesn't help. I think we need to take hip-hop back to the soul point of view where the songs we make have impact on people's lives rather than making songs so pointless just to have sales.

I think Chris Webber could help if he's healthy but he's been having a lot of back problems lately it'd be interesting to see how he holds up, they got the best player in the league in Iverson already so they might have a shot to beat the Heat in the East Finals, I think that the Bulls, Cavaliers, and Pistons will have a shot too to going to the Finals, the playoffs will be fun this year.

What up y'all this is one of the most personal rhymes I ever wrote a few weeks ago, enjoy, feedback appreciated! :thumb: ”She'll Remember”(“Now It's Too late”) Written By Big Ted Chorus: She'll remember I knew she would She thought that going with him was better She had me all misunderstood She does remember And now she wants to come and take all my goods But one thing she didn't remember Is that I know her fate would bring back the hate I don't need that, so I leave her behind in the 'hood I always been a real cat It's too late to remember 'Cause I don't need that kind of drama in my life 'cause I've been doing better Without her Verse One: I remember those times as a young man There was a lot of fun I had Hanging out at the school dances Playing the attack real cool and I wanted a chance But I didn't realise that you had another plan You started to act all grown up but you weren't a woman But then you ended up getting pregnant from another dumb youngeon Before you got out of junior high That had me just buggin' You were actin' out of your mind 'Cause then you moved and I never heard from you again And 'till this day I wonder why Oh my word, you were the 1st girl I seriously had a crush on but you never knew it You ignored when I tried to prove it Well times have changed since that was before 2000 And as I've gotten older I met other girls but they were also actin' foul Now that I'm on top of my game, I see you're tryin' to come around Maybe if you were able to apply your brain, things for me and u might've worked out Waiting longer has proved that I'm mature Now you're probably wishing that I was in your life for sure As a young girl having a child was something that has left you hurt 'Cause forgetting about your friend has proved that you were immature The reason why I consider you a fool is from acting older than what you were I wish your parents would've took a moment to raise your ass better I can no longer hold it in Since you weren't no good friend You're just tryin' more gold diggin' But you're comin' up empty For showin' no love for Teddy In the late '90s You neer came around the way to find me You decided to start a lame life without me But now since I'm chargin' to flame mics, suddenly you're comin' around me After almost a decade Do you really think I'd want you to share my cake? [Repeat Chorus] Verse Two: The years move on, but some things never get old When it comes to meetin' golddiggers that want your doe Now I never thought of you as a hoe And I still don't, but when it comes to leavin' me alone when I was broke That type of label would show And I put this on record to be continually on the flow Of how I know that comin' up with my thoughts will give me success Because in a battle that how a got strong Hip-hop battles represent life's battles, I try not to stay in the same position too long After doing that I would feel lost By takin' things that I vision all in one charge It's better when I take time and patience, that's something I'm working on But it always felt like you were ignoring Me like that other did and it made me wonder if I was doing something wrong Or I would get the impression that you thought I was boring I didn't understand what was it that you'd want? To hear from me so that you'd feel amusement Sometimes I notice how that theones who front are the ones who get ahead Rather than the intelligent ones, I still don't get it I didn't seem to get love from you until I dropped a hit disc I thought before then you wanted love And someone that'll give you respect Rather than just someone that could buy you over with a a check I wonder now if you'd treat me nice now 'cause I'm making large sums You're comin' after me like a chickenhead By acting like I'm gonna throw you back some bucks And back then I felt dumb By sayin' that you weren't like the rest of them 'Cause if you really care for someone You'd care about that person whether they're poor or rich One day you'll realise that it ain't love When you're after the money and don't care about the person That thought will leave you shivering cold on the curb 'Cause there are better women than you in this world You're another immature girl Hook: I could see the way it gets Like Chuck D already said “It's plain to see how you're a sophisticated bitch” You used to treat me foul and penetrate the diss Now you wanna lay in my bed And then take my chips There ain't no way I'm going for this Verse Three: Hey now, like I said we all know it gets When I'm winning the bouts y'all come out again To claim to the crowd how we're friends But how 'bout when I didn't surround attention? I couldn't see you then And I needed advice I've been learning on my own how to succeed in life So don't even take credit when you didn't even apply Yourself towards supplying words of wisdom to my mind The influence was concerned withing the rhythm of my vibe I found that peace in my soul that was legit to apply I realise how the hating exists all the time And it doesn't ride the emotion that persists when I rhyme This will exist beyond the flwing that kicks in 2005 or even 2025 'Cause this isn't somethin' that'll go out of track like those chicks I had who just make love and then hide In other words I'm never going out of style Just to make you remember that I don't make trends I rather flow to rake ends Since I gather the motion this game spins You have to master some emotion to make decisions I can penetrate the show when the play begins So much hate thrown my way again I thought yesterday that you were my main circuit But then you'd break on me to look like a lame circus Another round's gone Another one I couldn't count on Needin' a moment so I could pound strong Seein' that i was going that route was wrong I learn to deal with the consequences Even when you appeal of questioning Keepin' it real will keep this thought persisting So baby, just keep on wishing [Repeat Chorus]

You got a nice flow in that song, I can picture myself crusin' to this in my ride, keep it up! :thumb:

Congradulations, I'm happy for you! :thumb:

:werd: I give it a 4/5 now, it's clearer to understand now, 'nuff props for being bilingual too, I know a lot of French from takin' 6 years of it in high school but it ain't that easy for me to write a rhyme in French it's hard for me to do that and have it make sense, I give you credit to do that. :thumb:

Oh yeah I remember now, it's "If My Homie Calls", I now remember seeing that video on MTV a couple times before. btw, I'm listening to LL Cool J "Take It Off", "The G.O.A.T." was one of the best albums in hip-hop during 2000.

That punchline is rude but yet it's pointless, a high schooler could make a better diss than that, Will's worst punchlines are smarter than that, I think if Eminem opens his mouth to respond it'll be all a publicity stunt and the entire hip-hop community will diss him, he'd better off retiring than doing that 'cause he'd only be bringing humilition to him, Dr.Dre, and the whole Aftermath, that label could fall faster than Death Row. :ditto:
-
I lost all respect for Eminem after readin' that, he just doesn't know what's comin' does he?! :bang: :nhawong: Will helped hip-hop get on the map, even if Eminem doesn't like Will's songs he should show more gratitude than that! :werd:
-
I think leaving Columbia was the best thing for FP to get his hip-hop credability back, that's all he had to do, get a label to back what he wants to do, FP's gonna take the throne again! :ali:
-
Wow, ur so lucky, that's dope how Will signed your "Homebase" CD, not many people could say that! :thumb: Just his presence alone gets people hyped, he don't have to rap or say anything and people are excited, only few entertainers are like that, I hope I could meet him sometime in my life.
-
There ain't nothin' wrong with having dope album covers I think that the album covers for Public Enemy's albums are a definite work of art but so is their music too, backing up the hype is the most important thing, if the album is wack the cover is meaningless to me, that's the problem with a lot of commercial rappers, they have flashy videos/album covers, but the songs on their albums are boring as hell and have no substance so that makes the videos/album covers irrelevant in my mind. I think that this FP album will back up the hype once again. btw, I think if they used the cover of Bad Boys II as an album cover for an FP album they'd think he's a gangsta rapper, these "Kids Just Don't Understand". Hey FP should make a song called that! :lolsign:
-
:werd: Well BET shows more love to Michael Jackson, they didn't play Eminem's "Losin' It" where he was dissin' MJ, but MTV played it, they're sellouts! emptyv! :bang:

BBD "Word To The Mutha!", fresh r&b/hip-hop of '90, a piece of this beat sounds like a beat 2Pac used before, I forget the name of 2Pac used it for, was it a song on "2Pacalypse Now"?(do you know FUQ or AJ?) he probably sampled it from this song.
-
:werd: People are startin' to realise that a lot of that gangsta crap now is fake and are startin' to thirst for something intelligent, creative, and fun, hopefully this FP could open doors up with this album for other intelligent mcs who have important things to say. Obviously though only 15 yr. olds get attracted by album covers, but if it takes that for them to get into FP I'm all for it 'cause that cover does show how he's been keepin' it real, but all the true fans already knew that.

BDP(KRS-ONE)"MY Philosophy", this song sounds like it was just made now in the '05 even though it was made in '88 "you gotta have style, learn to be original or everybody's gonna wanna diss you" could be said to all the commercial rapers out now that're faking btw, I saw that "Number One Spot" Ludacris video and it does have an 'Austin Powers' concept to it, it's funny, Quincy Jones, the guy that plays 'mini me', and Slick Rick are cameos.

:werd: It came out around the same time that "Switch" did, I remember watching them premiere it on 106&Park, it's one of my favorites on the "Street's Disciple", anybody out there that wants an alternative to that commercial crap out should go out and buy this album to support a true mc. "Just A Moment" is one of my favorite hip-hop songs out now besies "Switch", but they ain't getting airplay, like most of my favorites don't. :ditto: btw, check out the lyrics to "Just A Moment" that I got from ohhla.com: [Verse 1: Quan] Can we please have a moment of silence? That's for my n****z doin' years in confinement And for my soldiers who passed over, no longer living That couldn't run whenever the reaper came to get 'em Can we please pour out some liquor? Symobolizin', let's take in time to consider that Though our thugs ain't here, the love is here And we gon' rep 'til slugs kill us here This for my dawgs stuck in the struggle tryin' to gain Smokin' trauma, sniffin' Ra while sellin' cocaine Trapped in the game, not knowin' how to stop and get by To live it alive, so instead they live it to die Can we please have a moment of peace? For every G that fell for his flag in the streets Bloodin' and thuggin', folkin' and lokin' Crypin' and creepin', Latin and kingin' Or just for poor righteous teachin' [Chorus: Quan sings] As days goes and nights fall For the rest of our life we'll miss y'all And even though life must go on, we'll still mourn While wishin' y'all were home [Verse 2: Nas] Yeah, and can we have another moment of silence? For brothers who died from black-on-black violence From here to the Dark Continent were rebels sell diamonds To clients allover the world, got little Black girls dyin' And can we please pour some more liquors? For Will, Bokeem, Bar, Pappy -- my n**** Here's another Warrior Song from Nasty and Quan It's to him I pass the baton to carry this on Street's Disciple, salute to those who's gone with bullets And I promise through rhymin' Quan gon' rep his life to the fullest And can we please have a moment of truth? For soldiers and troops away with helmets and boots And families back home who pray they make it home safe Hopin' that they don't get hit with a stray or missiles This is just a moment to let you all know that we miss you Mommy I'm still here, wishin' I was there with you Let's take 'em home [Chorus] [Verse 3: Quan] And can we please have a moment to mourn? For Pac, Biggie and Pun 'cause through us they live on Jam Master Jay, Freaky Ty and Alliyah Big L and Left Eye, when we die we wish to see ya Can we please have a moment for children? Who got raped or murdered, or trapped in the system Who never knew their father, never learned to dream But was guided by drug dealers, killers and crack fiends For single mothers that's forced to play mom and dad Bustin' her ass to give her kids s*** she never had For my n****z in the pen hopin' rhymes'll get 'em signed So when released, they can say bye to a life of crime For very mother that held a son in the street bleedin' Cryin' a song of sorow to dark and deep for speakin' Just a moment outside the day to day struggle To let the ones we really care about know that we love 'em [Chorus]
