Will, RedMan & Elephant Man on remix track
bigted replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Redman's been slept on for the past couple years, but he's one of the best lyricists in the game and reppin 'Jersey strong, I can't wait to hear this collabo! :dj: -
I already know how G Unit and D12 are the kings of hip-hop popularity, but that doesn't mean that they're the most respected in the hip-hop game and I think having repect is worth more than anything, I don't understand why anyone would wanna go after Will Smith, he's the most peaceful cat in the hip-hop industry and tries to get along with everybody, but it seems when you're nice people try to walk on you, so it's time for him to set these haters straight, btw, this isn't about winning over ignorant fans, it's 'bout waking them up and giving them intelligence to know that there's a whole bunch of artists that have more skills and talent than those ignorant fools they worship do and if that can't happen so be it, at least at the end of the day Will would have more respect for dissing Eminem like KRS-ONE has by hardcore hip-hop heads for dissing Nelly. Like KRS-ONE said before: "Mcs are just hopeless, thinking record sales make them the dopest" If G Unit and D12 all gang up to diss FP please believe that legends like Chuck D, KRS-ONE, and LL will have his back if necessary, it's time for the real legends to shine again! :ali:
-
Yeah, the legends of hip-hop(including 2Pac when he was alive) respect FP, if they battled it'd be for fun at a hip-hop show, he's been in the game for too many years for someone to come along and just knock him out, that's a joke, it's also messed up that hip-hop radio stations don't play any of the classic JJFP tracks, if it wasn't for them, there wouldn't be any hip-hop radio stations, but instead they play Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 Cent like they're rap gods! :nhawong:

Nas "You Know My Style"

BDP(KRS-ONE)"You Must Learn", another relevant song from the minister of hip-hop kulture! :dj:

I'm Lookin For The One To Be With Me
bigted replied to cataboy3's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I think JJFP should collaborate wit Teddy Riley again one day, he's a legendary producer, I don't think his production really fell off, his popularity just did, but he produced "I Got To Get Her" which is my favorite song on LL's "The Definition" album(too bad LL's not releasing another single) I'd still choose him over Kanye West anyday, "I'm Looking For The One" is one of the best JJFP songs, you could never get tired of it! -
I personally never heard them say one nice thing about Will, I personally don't think Will should be afraid of dissin' Eminem, all Eminem would do is prove how immature he is by making a diss song cursin' every 5 seconds, and Will would have too many punchlines for Eminem to come back with a relevant diss, I think it'd be great if Will could knock Eminem out of popularity for many reasons, the main one would be that true mcs like Talib Kweli could start getting some better sales, KRS-ONE dissed Nelly bad a couple years ago but KRS-ONE's not a popular mc so Nelly's still survivin' but if Will dissed Eminem as bad, Eminem's popularity won't be standing anymore 'cause Will's power of being a household name would help. :ali: Eminem thinks he could go around and diss everyone like he's some sort of musical god that can't be stopped, he's egotistical, what gives him the right to diss legends like Will Smith and Michael Jackson? :nhawong: Somebody has to put Eminem in his place 'cause he doesn't deserve to be so popular acting so disrespectful, you gotta respect the cats that paved the way for you!

Switch music video Feb 7th BET/8th TRL/
bigted replied to MooseKnuckles's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm gonna check 106& Park that day then if I could, hopefully he's there and is interviewed. -
I didn't forget 2Pac, but he and Will can't battle 'cause 2Pac's dead, that'd been another tight battle too, I was talking about mcs that're living right now, back in the days hip-hop battles were more fun where the mcs respected each other, these days there's too much hate involved in most of them(except for the Nas/Jay-Z battle, they both always respected each other). Eminem shouldn't diss Will but respect him 'cause Eminem wouldn't be out there if Will didn't help hip-hop crossover.

Hell yeah, the hip-hop legends are comin' back again to claim their throne again! :ali:
-
So what does everyone else think of the song? I know more peeps besides FUQ were looking at this!
-
Come on man, anybody could beat Benzino and Ja Rule, they're the worst mcs to ever step on the mic, but I don't think anybody could beat Will Smith except maybe LL, Rakim,Chuck D, or KRS-ONE(even those battles would be tight), they don't wanna beef with Will, he may have a clean cut image and hasn't beefed, but with his intelligence and his skills, he could destroy any mainstream rapper out now, they're a bunch of phonies! :ali: Will Smith sets the trends, everyone else is just following trends!
-
Will Smith is also one of the greatest mcs to ever step on the mic not just an actor, he's an mc before he is an actor, it's time for him to prove it now, he could call Eminem out all he wants 'cause Eminem wasn't even rapping yet when JJFP came out and Eminem might've been releasing more material over the past 5 years, but he's been saying the same things over and over again, he's washed up, like all commercial mcs are, Eminem's a sell out, there are 100s of mcs that're better than him, don't even put Eminem and Will Smith in the same sentence 'cause Will Smith has done more for the hip-hop game than Eminem ever could, in fact hip-hop would be better if Eminem never came out!

Brian Mcknight has a new album? I'm gonna have to look into getting that! btw, right now I'm listening to A Tribe Called Quest "Jazz" :dj:
-
I always wondered about that too when an album is certified platinum on the Billboard charts, does that mean it's platinum worldwide or just platinum in the US? :dunno:
-
Will doesn't need to be a pimp, he got Jada, the dime of all dimes! :thumb: btw, it's 'bout damn time that FP disses Eminem, Eminem is washed up and it's time for FP to finish him off so the true veterans could get respect! :ali:

Thanks for letting us know! :thumb: Speaking of the super bowl, I wrote a song about the super bowl that y'all could see in the Numero Uno forum!

Well I bought my computer for studies too basically, I don't wanna make songs on it, I wanna try to make it the ol' fashioned way by workin' hard and I'll gradually have my own studio to make songs in, it's only a matter of time, we really don't know how lucky we have it compared to the ol' school cats that pioneered hip-hop, I already have fans from all over without even recording a song just from posting some of my lyrics on this forum.
-
Those are nice quotes from FP, here's a couple more "I was born to reign Point blank my name To be etched in stone My destiny pre-ordained Trying to live righteous Fighting for life this is my life And That's why I go light on my vices" "i found gold in my heart, put my ice away nicer day, live foul homie it's a price to pay"

:werd: Elephant Man is one of the most popular cats in reggae right now, he brings a lot of energy to his music, this is a dope collabo.
-
I was able to understand FuQ's lyrics listening to the song, but that's good point that you made Da Brakes, there's a reason why the pros spend all the money they do to make a song either in the studio or from a high-priced laptop to for it to be quality audio, but this is a good way for FUQ to promote himself for now.

Jeff's Album should be about finished
bigted replied to KevTastic's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I think mostly everyone that made suggestions(including me) wanted Will on the album, so I think he probably is gonna be one the album. -
New Jersey, USA btw, it's nice to see that you're not another "switch whore" scyhigh99, welcome to the board! :kekeke: :thumb:
