The Eagles finally won the NFC Championship, I know Jazzy Jeff's happy about that, they lost 3 straight NFC Championship games! On the other hand the Steelers exceeded expectations this year and did great, I feel bad for Bettis though, but he's still going to the hall of fame anyway. I can't wait for the Super Bowl! Go Eagles!

FP "It's All Good", well it is 'cause the Eagles won 2day! :thumb:

I wouldn't label it as 'ghetto'...i'd label it as 'life.' :werd: Anyone from the 'hood or the suburbs could relate to that track "Black, white, rich, poor, it's the same ol' drum"

I bring up this point that Chuck D made in November's terrordome about how rappers that are showing bad examples are getting all the glory: "DRE who i've known for years is a nice guy who has co signed so much niggitive on the black race, how can he not expect that karma to somehow circle around? Theres never peace if you never loved it from jump. And we can't blame SUGE for everything can we? What was going around in YOUNG BUCKs mind stabbing a cat in front of national cameras? Being that hes signed from 50, whos from EMINEM ,whos from DRE, shouldnt head whiteman JIMMY IOVINE train these people since he stands to profit whether the artist is dead, alive, jailed, or roaming in the so called streets? iles... I've commented on the SHYNe debacle of someone who gets a bidding war and a fat contract while doing time as if he absorbed Millennium Robert Johnson twisted blessings. Beenie Siegal does 5 videos on his way in, to keep the streets hot so he can be celebrated when he gets out. 1.8 million folks in jail, but should the have nots support rappers or celebrities that do short bids, when many dont have the opportunity or clarity to see it for what it is? Like who gives a f*ck really....? The entourages become bigger as times become harder, cats show off their excesses more, and bodyguard security gets more massive. Cats are saying all the worst sh*t about each other in the press, tv, magazines, recordings, while never doing eye to eye anything because theyre buffered by their well paid personal armies. You will never see JA RULE, 50,or JD in your local supermarket picking up some milk for the family, yet they supposed to represent the increasing havenots, while showing off what they got?"

Who has worked with Will on the new album?
bigted replied to SEALK's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Out of all the collabos besides Jeff, I think the Mary J. Blidge one would be the dopest 'cause she keeps it true to her artistry even though she's had a lot of success, she stays humble like FP and LL do. Kwame is a great hip-hop artist too, he's been underrated like a lot of ol' school cats are. :ditto: -
I tried that for a while last night until Tim told me that I wouldn't find anything doing that! :kekeke:

is it just me or did bigted not post in this topic yet? lol

I think we only have about 4 inches here in Seaside, NJ, it's more like old man winter 2 years later(remember the blizzard of 2003?) I remember we got over 10 inches of snow in February 2003, they closed school for a whole week, that's why I graduated towards the end of June of 2003 instead of the middle, hopefully this storm ain't that bad 'cause I don't wanna lose money from not going to work, they closed where I worked yesterday early so I didn't have to go in, it's good for one day, but I don't wanna lose a whole week without pay! :bang:
-
:dunno: I liked that self-titled album he released in '98, has he released anything since? btw right now I'm listening to Mary J. Blidge feat. FP "Got To Be Real"
-
Let's no forget that Jazzy Jeff's gonna have his album out too by then probably, it'd be a nice way to promote that too! :dj: :thumb: This would be a once in a lifetime event, all these hall of fame hip-hop artists in one show!
-
I saw the trailer on TV a lot over the past couple of weeks, it looks like it's gonna hilarious, I can't wait to see it either, I usually don't watch movies when they come out, but I always make an exception when it comes to Will's movies 'cause they're all enjoyable, he's a great entertainer.

I'm usually working around the time Oprah is on at 4PM on the East Coast, I think it's still on the same time, I remember it was on the same time when I was little and same channel too.

:werd: The NBA champs should just be NBA champs now 'cause we lost to Argentina in the semi-finals of the Olympics and only won bronze, the WNBA champs could be called world champs 'cause they delivered the gold. I think the Eagles-Steelers'll play in the Super Bowl, they've been the 2 best teams this year, "The Bus" has proved that his tank is still full when critics were sayin' it has gone empty! :kekeke: Mcnabb has had a career year and is in the best shape of his career, there's no exuse this year for the Eagles! :ali:

It seems that you have to be in a gang and shot to get on a major label, it shouldn't be like that, it's not setting a good example for the youth, 'cause they think that if they go in a gang they'll go platinum like 50 Cent and Jay-Z. :nhawong: This song "2nd Quarter: Free Throws" by KRS-ONE explains why things are the way they are: "These are poems circulating throughout the nation everybody's bad and everybody's tough but how many people are intelligent enough to open up their eyes and see through the lies discipline themselves, yourself to stay alive? not many That's why the universe sent me today on this stage with this to to say the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer and in the final hour many heads will lose power what does the rich versus the poor really mean? psychologically it means you got to pick your team when someone says the rich gets richer visualize wealth and put yourselves in the picture the rich get richer, cause they work towards rich the poor get poorer, cause their minds can't switch from the ghetto let go, it's not a novelty you could love your neighborhood without loving poverty follow me, every mother, father, son, daughter there's no reason to fear the New World Order we must order the whole new world to pay us the New World Order and the old state chaos the Big Brother watching over you, is a lie you see Hip-Hop could build it's own secret society but first you and I got to unify stop the negativity and control our creativity the rich is getting richer, so why we ain't richer? could it be we still thinking like niggas? educate yourselves, make your world view bigger visualize wealth and put yourselves in the picture!" :werd: Rappers can't act like gangsters forever, KRS-ONE grew up homeless but he still keeps his music positive! Hip-hop is not going forward 'cause rappers refuse to grow up, the commercialism of hip-hop is great in one sense in it's popularity but in another it's rewarding those who follow trends now rather than those who try to set their own.

Happy Birthday Jazzy Jeff! :dj: :dj:

LL Cool J feat. Boyz II Men "Hey Lover", a nice chill track
-
:werd: I would really like to see that! JJFP are most likely gonna be part of it 'cause they're down wit all them legends, this topic should be pinned 'cause this is big news!

This came from Chuck D's terrordome at publicenemy.com that he posted yesterday, the whole article is interesting, but this part excited me: "Spoke to Charlie( first out the limo) Mack and PE will play during All Star Weekend in Denver..at this time we are close to agreement on being a part of the Charlie Mack Hip Hop Legend Show Tour ..the tour would like to run in May ..3 weeks about 20 shows featuring Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte, Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick and integrating other acts as well." Maybe one of those integrating acts are JJFP, I sure hope so! :thumb: If JJFP went on that tour wit them, it'd probably attract more fans and bring all these legends back on the scene again! :ali:

Hip-hop has a globabl and diverse fan base, mainstream/underground/gangsta/gospel/or whatever other category rappers get put in all different kinds of people listen to them. btw, I'd say that Nick Cannon does have more talent than The Game does, he's a funny guy, I might not like be into all of his songs but I'll admit that he does have some skills, Will would even tell u so, but then again The Game works with Dr. Dre, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to every cat that's down with FP and Dr.Dre, I have my own preferences, if you put Dr. Dre, FP, KRS-ONE, LL, and Rakim all in the same room at the same time to discuss hip-hop they'd all have different opinions about how hip-hop is right now but they're all in the same game.
-
Everyone has their different opinions on what's real and what's not, I'm reading this book I got from the library called "Hip-Hop America" By Nelson George and it talks about the history of hip-hop, I know a lot about hip-hop already but I try to keep on learning more and more about the history 'cause its important to understand about the hip-hop culture, you can't just be biased to one part of hip-hop, every mc expresses themselves differently, you might like it or you might not but that's who they are. :ditto:
-
KRS-ONE feat. Tekitha "Survivin'"
-
:werd: I think you could probably top it Fuq 'cause you got a lot of skills! You gotta understand that's the reason why I like underground hip-hop 'cause they rap with a lot of heart and emotion like me and you do, it makes no sense to listen to music if it can't inspire you 'cause that's what I wanna do for the future cats, I also agree that top producers should give these beats to legends like KRS-ONE, Chuck D, and Rakim instead of 50 Cent, Ja Rule, and Nelly.
-
I just got that Chuck D CD from the library yesterday and it was my 1st time hearing it, I'm gonna look around for somewhere that I could buy it, I never saw the "No" video, maybe it might be on the Public Enemy "Power To The People DVD" that's supposed to drop soon, it was supposed to drop last September but it got delayed, I read at their website that all the Public Enemy CDs are gonna be remastered/remixed over the next couple of years to celebrate their 20th anniversary. BTW right now I'm listening to Eric B.& Rakim "Eric B. For President" :dj:
-
I been listening to Chuck D's 'AutoBiography Of Mistachuck" CD for the last hour, this is so damn ill!
-
:werd: I don't give a damn about the album title as long as the album's dope, if people only buy the music based on an album cover or title, there's something wrong wit them! :nhawong:
