  1. “MLK's Message” Poem Written on January 20, 2003(MLK Day '03) How many of our peeps Take some time To open our eyes and see A way of non-violence? Which is MLK's message The answer to that must be few Because in 2003 the major issue's not racism It's members of gang crews killing other gang crews Which means that there's still a lot of hatred Don't let the violent ways influence you To act out and do the same thing There's more of an attraction In this society To pick up a gun Instead of choosing passion Against fighting And giving love The truth exists That many of us think that love Makes you look soft with cowardness The real truth is When you love Your heart will only strengthen We'll survive longer if we apply MLK's message: which is non-violence He died fighting for us to have a better life!
  2. Well since today's MLK day, the song of day should be "Stop The Violence" by BDP "Worldwide BDP are the freshest! Worldwide! Worldwide! Worldwide! One two three, the crew is called BDP and if you want to go to the tip top stop the violence in hip-hop, Y-O Time and time again, as I pick up the pen as my thoughts emerge, these are those words I glance at the paper to know what's going on someone's doing wrong, the story goes on Mary Lue's had a baby someone else decapitated the drama of the world shouldn't keep us so frustrated I look, but it doesn't coincide with my books social studies when I speak upon political crooks It's just the presidents, and all the money they spent all the things they invent and how the house is so immaculate They paid missiles, my family's eating gristle then they get upset when the press blows the whistle Of course the main profiles are kept low you temper with some jobs, now the press is controlled Not only newspapers, but every single station you only get to hear the president is on vacation But ehrm, stay calm, there's no need for alarm You say "go back" to your mom, and you're off to Vietnam You shoot to kill, come back and you're a veteran but how many veterans are out there pedaling? There's no telling, 'cause they continue selling As quiet as it's kept, I won't go into depth You can talk about Nigeria, people used to laugh at ya. Now I take a look, I say "USA for Africa?!" Huh. What's the solution, to stop all this confusion? Rewrite the constitution, change the drug which you're using Rewrite the constitution or the emancipation proclamation we fight inflation, yet the president's still on vacation BDP posse! I say: one two three, the crew is called BDP And if you wanna go to the tip top stop the violence in the hip-hop, Y-O This might sound a little strange to you well here's the reason I came to you We gotta put our heads together, and stop the violence Cause real bad boys move in silence When you're in a club, you come to chill out not watch someones blood just spill out That's what these other people want to see another race fight endlessly You know we're being watched, you know we're being seen Some wish to destroy this scene called hip-hop But I won't drop not I or Scott LaRock Now here is the message that we bring today: hip-hop will surely decay if we as a people don't stand up and say: "Stop the violence!" "Stop the violence!" "Stop the violence!" "Stop the violence!" "Stop the violence!" I say: one two three, the crew is called BDP And if you wanna go to the tip top stop the violence in the hip-hop, Y-O BDP and me we step into the party top celebrity Say when we're coming to dance, we never have to pay a fee Cause that's where we got R-E-S-P-E-C-T I have this one wife, her name is Miss Melody I know I'm from the Bronx, she from the Brooklyn posse I tell ya look a little like this, then I tell you some that I Sometimes I got my gear on, sometimes I wear a hat Sometimes I'm in a Mercedes and sometimes I'm in a plain Sometimes I find myself upon the number two train Some people look at me and see negativity some people look at me and see positivity But when I see myself I see creativity So if I can create, well then I make some money Sha man, just put your hands up if you're out here gettin' paid Sha man, just put your hands up if you're out here gettin' paid One two three, the crew is called BDP And if you wanna go to the tip top stop the violence in the hip-hop, Y-O"
  3. When people look back on 2005 hip-hop in 2050 they'll say that the best mcs weren't on major labels and didn't get airplay, sooner or later the underground will get it's due! :ditto: If Will became the 1st black president the world'll be a better place.
  4. That battle was off the hook, nice job Da Brakes and Hero!
  5. I would have JJFP feat. Slick Rick on the "You Saw My Blinker" re-make
  6. :werd: Dr. Dre's "Aftermath" didn't sell that much so he went back to remaking "The Chronic" again, whjch is something that he shouldn't have done and has proved that he's ran out of creativity, personally I think it'd be better 4 him to retire rather than making his legacy look even worse.
  7. JJFP "Parents Just Don't Understand" :dj:
  8. I haven't really heard too much from either besides his single out now, which I ain't feeling that much 'cause the only impression I got from that song is that he raps about cash, drugs, and hoes like every other commercial rapper, that's why I don't like that many mainstream artists out there, maybe if he drops a single with more relevance I'll be interested in buying his album if not I won't waste my money when I could buy a Public Enemy album with that money, it takes more than a dope beat to make a hot song, the lyrics have to be relevant too. btw, I notice that he ain't giving any props to JJFP on his album, but shout-outs Dr. Dre 35 times, who hasn't released an album since '99, if y'all think waiting for Will's new album is a long wait, imagine waiting for Dr. Dre's "Detox" album that was supposed to drop more than 2 years ago now, I think Dr. Dre's a hip-hop legend, but he's been slacking off lately! :ditto:
  9. I hope it ain't 2050 yet 'cause if it was we'd all be senior citizens! :kekeke:
  10. LL Cool J "I Shot Ya" Happy Birthday Shout-Outs to LL Cool J and Slick Rick, 2 of the greatest mcs of all time! :birthday: :ali:
  11. I like Tyreese too, is he working on anything new? I like that Enhanced bonus stuff on "2000 Watts" where he talks about growing up in Watts and giving back now that he's successful, he seems like a real down to earth guy. Tyreese and Snoop collabed on a song called "Baby Boy" for the movie soundtrack, it's a dope song!
  12. I haven't heard it, I haven't been paying much attention to mainstream hip-hop lately! :dunno:
  13. Big Daddy Kane "Ain't No Half Steppin'"! :dj: It's one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever! :ali:
  14. That's an impressive list right there! :thumb: Dana Barros made a rap song? :dunno:
  15. "Flava In Ya Ear"and "Drop It Like It's Hot" should've been replaced by "T.R.O.Y." by Pete Rock&CL Smooth and "Dear Mama" by 2Pac, those were more fitting family songs! :ditto: I think "Just The Two Of Us" is probably the deepest song Will has ever made and anyone who thinks that he's corny obviously don't remember that this was released as a single. It'd be great if he'd release another deep song like this in the short future!
  16. Hey I never saw the video for "Bridgin' The Gap" but I love the song though 'cause Nas shows that he has a lot of respect for ol' school soul and blues, we gotta keep the ol' school alive 'cause those cats paved the way for hip-hop to be created! :thumb: Hey why didn't they show 2Pac's "Dear Mama", that was such a great song that he wrote about his mama.
  17. I wazn't saying that Nas' music waz igorant. I don't listen 2 much of his stuff The Firm started turning me off 2 him, but i try 2 stay a lil' current on his stuff. I'm just saying that he is an artist who often gets 2 the top of the charts, and reguardless of what the music is, alot of commercial rap fans like everything that gets 2 the top of the charts. But looking at that post, many of them look like fans of commercial rap and not die-hard Nas fans. Commercial rap is often ignorant songs and lyrics which appeal 2 igorant people. Nas is going 2 get some of those fans...and that's why a post like that exists over there. I'm not worried about educating those fools. I'll admire anyone who stands up 4 FP, but i'm not gonna take time out of my busy day 2 talk 2 stupid people who will just go listen 2 G-Unit after dissing my post. :werd: I feel u on that, everyone has their opinions, they're ignorant bandwagon fans that try to s*** on veteran mcs 'cause they don't respect the ol' school but they're so ignorant they don't realise that Nas gives props to ol' school hip-hop, I bet those ignorant asses never even heard a Rakim song before. Watch and see there'll be a lot fans too jumping on the bandwagon when FP's album goes number #1 soon, I don't feel **** riders and playa haters, you should respect an artist for beyond sales and awards and you shouldn't hate on them when they do well too, that's plain ignorance.
  18. Nas makes intelligent music though, his music ain't flashy, listen to "Street's Disciple" and you'll see that's intelligent hip-hop! I don't get why Nas fans would diss FP though, that's messed up, Nas don't have no beef with FP and FP respects Nas, I guess some people have too much time on their hands to come up with corny disses like that. :nhawong:
