  1. :werd: Dr. Dre's "Aftermath" didn't sell that much so he went back to remaking "The Chronic" again, whjch is something that he shouldn't have done and has proved that he's ran out of creativity, personally I think it'd be better 4 him to retire rather than making his legacy look even worse.
  2. JJFP "Parents Just Don't Understand" :dj:
  3. I haven't really heard too much from either besides his single out now, which I ain't feeling that much 'cause the only impression I got from that song is that he raps about cash, drugs, and hoes like every other commercial rapper, that's why I don't like that many mainstream artists out there, maybe if he drops a single with more relevance I'll be interested in buying his album if not I won't waste my money when I could buy a Public Enemy album with that money, it takes more than a dope beat to make a hot song, the lyrics have to be relevant too. btw, I notice that he ain't giving any props to JJFP on his album, but shout-outs Dr. Dre 35 times, who hasn't released an album since '99, if y'all think waiting for Will's new album is a long wait, imagine waiting for Dr. Dre's "Detox" album that was supposed to drop more than 2 years ago now, I think Dr. Dre's a hip-hop legend, but he's been slacking off lately! :ditto:
  4. I hope it ain't 2050 yet 'cause if it was we'd all be senior citizens! :kekeke:
  5. LL Cool J "I Shot Ya" Happy Birthday Shout-Outs to LL Cool J and Slick Rick, 2 of the greatest mcs of all time! :birthday: :ali:
  6. I like Tyreese too, is he working on anything new? I like that Enhanced bonus stuff on "2000 Watts" where he talks about growing up in Watts and giving back now that he's successful, he seems like a real down to earth guy. Tyreese and Snoop collabed on a song called "Baby Boy" for the movie soundtrack, it's a dope song!
  7. I haven't heard it, I haven't been paying much attention to mainstream hip-hop lately! :dunno:
  8. Big Daddy Kane "Ain't No Half Steppin'"! :dj: It's one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever! :ali:
  9. That's an impressive list right there! :thumb: Dana Barros made a rap song? :dunno:
  10. "Flava In Ya Ear"and "Drop It Like It's Hot" should've been replaced by "T.R.O.Y." by Pete Rock&CL Smooth and "Dear Mama" by 2Pac, those were more fitting family songs! :ditto: I think "Just The Two Of Us" is probably the deepest song Will has ever made and anyone who thinks that he's corny obviously don't remember that this was released as a single. It'd be great if he'd release another deep song like this in the short future!
  11. Hey I never saw the video for "Bridgin' The Gap" but I love the song though 'cause Nas shows that he has a lot of respect for ol' school soul and blues, we gotta keep the ol' school alive 'cause those cats paved the way for hip-hop to be created! :thumb: Hey why didn't they show 2Pac's "Dear Mama", that was such a great song that he wrote about his mama.
  12. I wazn't saying that Nas' music waz igorant. I don't listen 2 much of his stuff The Firm started turning me off 2 him, but i try 2 stay a lil' current on his stuff. I'm just saying that he is an artist who often gets 2 the top of the charts, and reguardless of what the music is, alot of commercial rap fans like everything that gets 2 the top of the charts. But looking at that post, many of them look like fans of commercial rap and not die-hard Nas fans. Commercial rap is often ignorant songs and lyrics which appeal 2 igorant people. Nas is going 2 get some of those fans...and that's why a post like that exists over there. I'm not worried about educating those fools. I'll admire anyone who stands up 4 FP, but i'm not gonna take time out of my busy day 2 talk 2 stupid people who will just go listen 2 G-Unit after dissing my post. :werd: I feel u on that, everyone has their opinions, they're ignorant bandwagon fans that try to s*** on veteran mcs 'cause they don't respect the ol' school but they're so ignorant they don't realise that Nas gives props to ol' school hip-hop, I bet those ignorant asses never even heard a Rakim song before. Watch and see there'll be a lot fans too jumping on the bandwagon when FP's album goes number #1 soon, I don't feel **** riders and playa haters, you should respect an artist for beyond sales and awards and you shouldn't hate on them when they do well too, that's plain ignorance.
  13. Nas makes intelligent music though, his music ain't flashy, listen to "Street's Disciple" and you'll see that's intelligent hip-hop! I don't get why Nas fans would diss FP though, that's messed up, Nas don't have no beef with FP and FP respects Nas, I guess some people have too much time on their hands to come up with corny disses like that. :nhawong:
  14. :werd: It'd be easier to make a top 10 list of the top mainstream mcs and albums out in '96 that u could actually listen to, u couldn't do that in '04, check this out: 1996 1-2Pac ("All Eyez On Me" was probably the best hip-hop album released since '96, unfortunately though he was murdered that year and hip-hop's been goin' down ever since then) 2-Nas ("It Was Written" put him on the mainstream scene, "Illmatic" was an underground release) 3-LL Cool J("Mr. Smith" went triple platinum) 4-Fugees("The Score" sold almost 10 million) 5-Foxy Brown(What female in '04 actually could spit with the fire that she did then on "Ill Na Na"? :dunno: ) 6-De La Soul(They were actually getting some airplay with "Stakes Is High") 7-Busta Rhymes(He was bringin' humor and comedy to hip-hop when he released "The Coming") 8-Coolio(He was a west coast mc that wasn't a gangsta wannabe when he released "Gangsta Paradise") 9-Tribe Called Quest (another ol' school hip-hop group that got some airplay when they released "Beats, Rhymes, and Life") 10-Warren G(he was bringin' that refreshing "G" Funk Style when he released "Take a Look Over Your Shoulder") Don't get me wrong it wasn't the golden year in hip-hop, but compared to now it is, to say '04 was better than '96 would be like saying the '04 Pistons would beat the '96 Bulls, it wouldn't happen. You could actually listen to a hip-hop radio station back then which you can't really now. The only mcs in '04 that were worth listening to on a mainstream level were LL Cool J("The Definition"), Kanye West("College Dropout"), Twista ("Kamakaze"), and Nas ("Street's Disciple") but they didn't get as much airplay as though artists above did.
  15. Wow damn AJ, you're collection bigger than all of ours put together! :cya: I'm surprised that I'm the only one here that has a James Brown album in my collection, they're hard to find though man, he put out 38 albums in over 50 years now, I wanna try and get more of them 'cause his songs are amazing, you can't love hip-hop and not love James Brown, the Godfather of Soul!
  16. Public Enemy doesn't have guest appearances on their albums either, they collaborated with KRS-ONE on the "He Got Game" soundtrack and they collaborated with Moby on the '04 Olympic Soundtrack, on their last album "Revolvolution" they actually had a contest over the internet where some fans remixed some of their songs and it sounded dope, that would be a great idea if JJFP did that with this album!
  17. Andre 3000 also had a different sound on "The Love Below" that we wouldn't expect on an Outkast album. I don't think that there's anything wrong with mcs experimenting with their music instead of doing the same ol' thing all the time, when you're creative with your music that's what makes you a hip-hop artist rather than just a rapper. :werd:
  18. Hey AJ u should seriously look into being a writer for a hip-hop magazine, that's a nice article there! :thumb:
  19. I agree with Will too, that's why I ain't rushing for a record deal like a lot of ignorant young cats my age are doing 'cause I ain't tryin' to be pimped by the record company and alot of mcs that're getting fame are following the same trends like everyone else, I admire Will a lot too 'cause no matter what anyone else does he keeps it positive, other than him there's only really LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Naughty By Nature, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef, and Nas that've had some mainstream success for being themselves in these recent years, I look more to the underground mcs like Talib Kweli and KRS-ONE these days for inspiration to keep rhymin' or else I'd quit being an mc myself.
  20. The mcs that're signed to ATOJ would destroy Ludacris and his DTP crew if they battled, why couldn't some of them get on the album with Will? I have nothing against Ludacris though 'cause some of his videos are hilarious and he has some talent but a lot of his songs on his albums are inconsistant compared to the singles, he ain't the worst mc in the game and I wouldn't diss him but he ain't nowhere near the best either, I don't think when we're old they're gonna rank Ludacris as an all-time mc, he ain't on the same level as Will is, if JJFP did a whole album together with no guest appearances, it'd be a classic album, just like "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" is without guest appearances, most of the great albums released in that golden age of hip-hop in the mid-late '80s had no guest appearances, I think that there's too many guest appearances now, there should be no more than 3 guest appearances on an album, if I wanted to listen to Ludacris I would buy his album and when I buy a JJFP album, I wanna listen to JJFP.
