:werd: I actually agree with you that it ain't Snoop's best song, but I don't think that any of his singles could top "Gin and Juice", that's the difficult thing about being a veteran artist, you have to live up to what you did earlier, you gotta give him credit though for not trying to redo "Gin and Juice" over and over unlike Eminem who always wants to recyle "My Name Is", that's what make Snoop a great mc, he doesn't repeat himself, he always comes with something fresh all the time, I'm feeling it, I would rather listen to this than any other song out right now, until Will eventually drops his single! :werd:

I was especially happy to see KRS-ONE get honors this year rather than LL or FP 'cause he ain't a household name like they're but his career has been just as consistant as theirs and some of my friends didn't know anything about KRS-ONE until I told 'em about him finally saw him on TV! :kekeke:

Hey don't diss Fat Joe, he represented for KRS-ONE last night, I was kinda upset that KRS-ONE didn't perform though 'cause he still performs a lot and I wanted to see him rock the house! Chuck D did a great performance last night, I can't wait to hear the new PE albums when they come out next year, I didn't like though how they talked about Public Enemy and KRS-ONE about how great they were, they're still great today but nobody pays attention to them on mainstream! :werd: I loved that Nas performance with his father who's a blue's singer, music runs in Nas' family. :switch: Next year should be JJ+FP, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, and Slick Rick getting hip-hop honors. :rock: I hope they show more hip-hop on VH1 over the next year, having this once a year is not enough, they should show hip-hop everyday! :ditto:

I love listening to Sean Paul, reggae music is dope, I bought a reggae mixtape the other day called "Reggae Seduction Pt.3" at a flee market and it has about 5 Sean Paul tracks on it, I got a quite a bit of regaee mixtapes in my collection, I like it 'cause it's always upbeat and brings a lot of energy like hip-hop! :rock:

A Luv song doesn't always gotta be slow or just about a boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, "Time To Chill" is passion for hip-hop art and how people feel about it(LL Cool J's "Hip-Hop" and KRS-ONE's "Step Into a World" are also prime examples) and "Walk This Way" was a hip-hop/rock luv song, if u know the lyrics u'd agree wit me on that one like this one line in it said: "Just Give Me A Kiss!" :kiss: U can't tell me that ain't a luv song! My talent is writing rap songs, writing poetry, freestyling, and dancing, friends in my high school said I got moves like MC Hammer, I'm pretty good at playing basketball too, but I'd rather make it as an mc 1st than try to make the NBA, maybe if I make it as an mc before I'm 40, I might consider trying out for an NBA team even if it's just 1 year if I decide to do that, sky's the limit right? :switch:

Public Enemy made a song dissin' the Bush administration 2 years ago called "Son Of A Bush" and yet nobody paid attention to it and they made a song last summer with Moby on the '04 Olympic soundtrack called "MkLvFkWr"(Which Stands For "Make Love, F**K war!") and nobody cared about that either! :bang: Why doesn't Public Enemy still go multiplatinum, they never really fell off as far as consistancy is concerned! :dunno: Ja Rule put out that wack album and it failed to go platinum last year, but even if Eminem puts out a wack album it'll at least go platinum, if it's average it'll sell 5 million! :nhawong: LL Cool J put out 11 phenominal CDs but none of them sold 5 million! It sounds like Eminem's trying to keep his black audience by doing "Mosh", but I don't buy into it, it sounds like when Jadakiss did "Why?" it's just for popularity, like Public Enemy says "Don't Believe the Hype"! And another thing that pisses me off about Eminem is that he's allowed to diss homosexuals on "The Marshall Mathers LP" but Allen Iverson's CD that year was shelved when he dissed homosexuals, now tell me that racism doesn't still exist, a white rapper can diss homosexuals but a black rapper can't?! :what:

Off the field is where it got him in trouble. The 1996 National League MVP, who later admitted using steroids during his major league career, died Sunday. He was 41. Ken Caminiti spent 10 of his 15 seasons in a Houston Astros uniform, but he won the 1996 NL MVP Award while with the San Diego Padres. Caminiti died of a heart attack in the Bronx, said his agent-lawyer Rick Licht. The city medical examiner's office said an autopsy would be performed Monday, spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said. "What we all loved about Cammy was his devotion to the game and his desire for the game. But it went into uncontrollable levels with no discipline," said one of his former coaches, Houston manager Phil Garner. Caminiti's 15-year big league career ended in 2001, five seasons after he led the San Diego Padres to a division title and was a unanimous pick for MVP. But the three-time All-Star third baseman often was in trouble the last few years. "I'm shocked. This was devastating. Even though he was divorced, he had a beautiful wife and daughters," said Diamondbacks outfielder Luis Gonzalez, who played with Caminiti on the Astros between 1990 and 1994. "He was one of the most intense players I've ever seen. I'm worried for [Craig] Biggio and [Jeff] Bagwell because those guys are playing in the biggest game of their lives [Monday]." Just last Tuesday, Caminiti admitted in a Houston court that he violated his probation by testing positive for cocaine last month. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but State District Judge William Harmon gave him credit for the 189 days he already had served in jail and a treatment facility since he was sentenced to three years' probation for a cocaine arrest in March 2001. He estimated half the players in the big leagues were also using them. "I'm still in shock," Padres general manager Kevin Towers said. "He was one of my favorite all-time players." Caminiti did return to baseball this year, serving as a spring training instructor with San Diego. "He didn't look good," Towers said. "The best way to describe him is that he was a warrior in every sense of the word. I can't tell you how many times I remember him hobbling into the manager's office, barely able to walk, and saying, 'Put me in the lineup.' Battling dehydration and an upset stomach, Caminiti took two liters of intravenous fluid, ate a candy bar, then hit two homers and drove in four runs in an 8-0 victory. "Becky and I are grief stricken at the premature death of one of the bravest athletes that we have known," Padres owner John Moores said. "We admired Ken tremendously and remained optimistic that he would conquer the personal challenges that he was dealing with." Caminiti teamed with Tony Gwynn and Greg Vaughn in the middle of the Padres' 1998 lineup, leading them to the World Series, where they were swept by the New York Yankees. "He was one of those guys that generated a lot of respect because he competed so hard," Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said. "This is really tragic." Towers and Licht both recalled the enormous ovation Caminiti received during a 2003 ceremony marking the Padres' farewell at Qualcomm Stadium. The team moved into a new ballpark this season. Licht said he had to go to Houston to persuade Caminiti to make an appearance, and Towers remembered the former star was nervous. "He didn't know what kind of reaction he would get," Towers said. After being showered with cheers, Caminiti told Licht it was his greatest day in baseball. "It's a shame for his family as much as it is for his friends," former Padres teammate Andy Ashby said. "He's got three daughters who are going to miss having Dad around. It's a shame. It's a terrible thing."

Why we gotta talk about Eminem so much, if he's wack, we shouldn't even mention him when there's mcs like Mos Def, KRS-ONE, and Talib Kweli that deserve more shine 'cause they have a lot more talent than Eminem, I don't wanna sound racist when I say this but the reason why mainstream embraces Eminem so much is 'cause he's a white rapper that has some skill, that's a fact now, he wouldn't have sold all those CDs if he was black and VH1 and MTV call him a hip-hop legend, but I think that DMX has been more consistant over the past 5 years than Eminem has been but none of DMX' albums sold 7 million copies! :daedulus: VH1 should've done a special on Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" or a 100 other ol' school hip-hop albums as an ultimate album instead of Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP"! :nhawong:
