1. Wow, 400 posts already, damn, pretty soon you'll be passing me, thanks for the shout out, mcs like us bring hope to the future of hip-hop, keep on dropping knowledge! :thumb:
2.
UP!! btw, didn't U say U wanted 2 record ya old tracks, b4 U do the 5-star. U gotta a lotta work 4 ya-self. As far as ya stuff being better than what'z out now, I believe it. What 2 jobs do U have?
Yeah I got a lot of work to do as far as my music is concerned, I haven't even put 100% effort into it like rappin' being my full time job yet(that's scary news for the rappers in the game now), I'm planning on going to a technical school one day to learn how to professionally record my tracks. My 2 jobs I have right now are at 2 retail stores in New Jersey that are right by each other, just a lil' money to help me get by and pay for a home college course I'm taking for computer programming, as you can see I'm a busy man! Thanks for the support! :thumb:
3. I used to write songs like crazy too when I was in high school and didn't have a job, but now that I work 2 jobs I don't have much time to write but I don't have to write that much anymore 'cause I have more than 200 songs written already and I could say that each and every one of them are better than what's out now so watch out for me too I'm gonna be making moves too!
4.
I think BEP should have Jazzy Jeff on their next album. I've seen Jazzy Jeff perform live and spin 4 a block party...and i've also seen Black Eyed Peas perform live and i just think their talents and energy would compliment each others. BEP is huge now so Jeff would get good exposer if he worked with them on an album.
That would be bangin'!
5. When I get a chance I'll check it out!
6. "The Real Slim Shady" was a comical song that Eminem did, he even dissed himself a few times in that song too! I'm sure Eminem respects Will, 'cause he said he grew up listening to Run-Dmc, he probably listened to JJFP too.
7. I think that the song is more similiar to Nas' "I Can", very strong points, the youth needs more positive messages out there! Keep it up!
8. Damn where you get all the time to write so much? I like to write a lot too but I've been busy lately. It seems like everytime I come to the board these days there's a new mfuqua rhyme, I'm feeling your hustle! :thumb:
9.
I just think you cant say one emcee is better than another when you've only heard a handful of their songs
Yeah man ur right about that, I think I heard more songs by you over the internet than I ever did of Kel Spencer and at least you now have a website, I tried to get to the Kel Spencer website and I can't get to it either but I can get to the Da Brakes website. So who's really lookin' for a record deal here? Hey does anyone even know what Kel Spencer even looks like? :eek4:
10. Damn that's dope, sounds like a club banger to me, you're doing your thing!
11. It took a lil' while for it to load for me but it was worth the wait! I could tell that Will's your inspiration 'cause you're doing a lot of big things acting and rapping, I look forward to seein' you on MTV one day and if you do a world tour and come to New Jersey I'll go see u! Peace!
12.
I'm sure the young talented Allen Iverson can rap an olympic record...we all kno hes got skill.... (i hope someone knows what im talkin bout becuz im dissin Allen cuz his album I think got cancelled cuz it was too offensive, he dissed a lotta gays and stuff...not quite sure tho if it got cancelled or not)
That was around the time that people were protesting "The Marshall Mathers LP" so that tells you how bad it probably was! Allen Iverson is a very tough and talented basketball player, but he's very selfish and not a good team player, he takes too many shots a game and doesn't pass the ball that much.
13.
Wit that said bigted. Streetball may in fact become Statewide. And they'll have street teams. The SBL? Street Basketball League???
I love that idea! If y'all are fiending for some real good basketball check out the And1 mixtape, I think they sell it on DVDs, but they show it sometimes on ESPN now, and check out the MTV2 show that they have on Sundays about streetball that's hosted by Fat Joe. These players go all out and they don't even get paid much! People pay attention to stats too much but real fans know talent is more than just about scoring average. They should make games cheaper so everyone could see it, there's no reason why athletes should get paid so much, $100 million dollars is ridiculous!
14. Nice verse! :thumb: Hey Daedulus how are you gonna respond to that?
15. Was JJ&FP the only ones in hip-hop that made an olympic song? I'm gonna say that this Dream Team of '04 doesn't deserve one, I would've thought about writing somethin' but they're not that good though!
16. Hey once in a while I'll freestyle in the shower and my parents hear me and tell me "Calm down and rap after the shower"!
17.
Since when is music about getting a messege across?
What do you think hip-hop is? It's a music where people express their lives through their songs, at least it used to be that way until every rapper started to be concerned wit record sales where they have to talk about something that the record company says will sell records. all these mc's who make songs like that are the real sell-outs 'cause they don't express themselves anymore. What happened to creativity, I like many mc's for different reasons, I like JJ&FP for making something for everyone, I like 2Pac for saying everything on his mind it takes a lot of heart to do that, I like Nas 'cause he tells stories about the streetlife, I like KRS-ONE 'cause he's the philosopher, I like Public Enemy 'cause they're political, and I like LL Cool J 'cause of his consistantcy, so on and so on, you get my point! Tupac shouldn't sound the same as Will 'cause he didn't live the same life as Will and vice versa. Everyone's different and it's always cool to hear a point from another MC that's different from another 'cause everyone is an individual. Nuff said! I respect everyone's opinions here, you can't force someone to like somethin' if they don't like it!
18. This was one of my favorites on this album, Kel Spencer held his own on this track, he was also on a couple tracks for the Wild Wild West soundtrack, did he make any other songs in the last 5 years? From the songs I heard him in he would be one of the top mcs in the game if were making more albums. What happened to him? :dunno:
19.
the problem was that no one passed it to marbury he is mad good and they did nothing with him he only tried about 1 3-pointer and missed
People are crying, "Oh, why didn't J. Kidd go instead of Marbury?" but I think that they would've still lost even if that was the case. I think Marbury is a better player than people think he is(he could win MVP if he had the right teammates) and if he does get more shots, they could win, but it's also not about that though either 'cause he is a point guard, he should bring the ball up the court, and the big guys box out the lane so Marbury could pass it to the open guy or take a shot if it's there, but they didn't play very organized! The reason why I bring up Richard Jefferson is 'cause he signed a $78 Million contract before the game and he can't hit a shot? Lebron James is making over $100 million in endorsements and he isn't steppin' up either! You hear on ESPN they're sayin' "these guys can't hit a shot" but you have to wonder why they're paid all this money then! :bang: They're not playing wit much pride, they're worried about $$$$ so I think that it would've been better if we brought a streetball team instead 'cause at least they would show heart.
20. After seeing that disasterous loss last night by the US basketaball team to Puerto Rico, I was thinkin' "When is the US team gonna call up Jordan, Ewing, and Barkley out of retirement to stop this disaster?" :dunno: I think even if Larry Bird was limping up and down the court, he would hit more shots than Richard Jefferson did. It was such an embarassment! :eek4:
21. Hey man dope rhyme! Me, you, and mfuqua23 all made summertime songs, we should all combine 'em into one phat mix, East Coast style!
22. Hey now cursing is just like using slang there's a time and a place for it, like when you're chillin' wit your friends at a party you say different things than you would if you were at a church or a buisiness meeting, and I couldn't imagine the president sayin' "It's off the hizzle, fo shizzle"! And another thing if anyone wants to hear some good Gospel rap, pick up KRS-ONE's "Spiritual Minded" CD, nobody bought this album when it came out in 2002 'cause they rather listen to songs about pimps and hoes! :tear: He said a great line in one of his songs called "The Struggle Continues": God created all music including rap! In another song "Take Ya Time" he said a line that's also pretty intriguing: "When you meet a man take some time to learn him/Yes it's still sacred to be a virgin", that's another thing that's not a good potray by the media, they make sex seem so cool, so a song like this one wouldn't get airplay, I was really shocked that "Jesus Walks" would actually get popular! I remember in high school some punks would make fun of any kid that said that he or she was a virgin, it's like you're not "cool" if u don't do drugs or have sex! :cussing: I could tell y'all I'm not gonna have sex wit anyone anymore until I really care about that person 'cause it just doesn't feel right!
23. Yeah AJ you're right about LL Cool J, but the only album that was really explicit was "The G.O.A.T.", but even though he cursed a lot on the album though he had songs like "I Can't Think", "You and Me", and "Homicide" where he was very creative with, I thought that the Cannibus battle might have influenced the more frequent cursing in that album 'cause many people were considering LL soft for doing songs like "I Need Love" and "Hey Lover", but I think he realised that doing an album like the G.O.A.T. was not him so he released "10" without curses and it was a solid album but not his best work, I like "Mama Said Knock You Out" the best from him. The truth is that today's hip-hop is garbage, it doesn't matter if there's cursing in it or not it just doesn't make sense, except Kanye West, he's the only creative one in it, Mase's song "Welcome Back" has no curses but I think it sucks regardless. I like listening to Public Enemy, KRS-ONE, LL Cool J, Nas, 2Pac, and Rakim the most besides JJ&FP 'cause even though there might be curse words in between their songs actually make sense. I don't think 2Pac would've released "Hit 'Em Up" if he didn't get shot, he obviously felt a lot of pain and felt betrayed when he was shot. A lot of rappers say "N.I.G.G.A." but 2Pac had a philosophy behind it from the Black Panther Movement that his mother was involved with. For those of you who don't know to 2Pac "N.I.G.G.A" meant "never ignorant getting goals accomplished".
