Wow I thought more people bought Pete Rock's album than 27,763! They rather go out and buy Jay-Z's or Nelly's garbage!

Hey Jim I have a question to ask you, Did your parents let you watch Bad Boys II 'cause if they did then they should have no problem wit letting you listen to any hip-hop song 'cause Will Smith cursed a lot in that movie. I personally don't understand why parents trip so much over cursing 'cause it's not like they never cursed before, this is no different than sex and drugs when you get to be a teenager, you're gonna find out about it, in a way it's good that ur parents get on you about this 'cause they show they care, but once they understand that you have common sense to know that there's a time and place for saying certain things then they should be cool wit that, I think the best thing you could do is quietly sit down and talk to your parents, I talked to my parents about that when I was younger and they understood me. Hey now the world is not edited, you can see and hear things worse than what's in a movie or a song, it's only entertainment that we're talking about here so I don't why we should get all upset about somebody cursing in a song. The only thing that I'm personally not cool wit all the time is when the rappers say the 'n' word so much but that's how they talk on the streets and we shouldn't limit what they say if they want to say it since we have the 1st Amendment in America and for President Bush and Dan Quale to get on 2Pac in '92 was wrong! :cussing:

Hey there's nothin' wrong wit listenin' 2 2Pac even though he curses, but so your parents don't flip on you, get the edited version of the albums. I don't think that there's nothin' wrong wit cursing in rap if there's a point to the song, but if the song is pointless then it's not good.

For example I don't like President Bush that much anymore and he's a Republican, last year I thought that he was doing a good job in having us fight Iraq but now the way I see it, this is looking like Vietnam all over again, us fighting over there now is a lost cause, and it's not helping that we lost a lot of jobs here in America, it's disheartening to hear that all the new jobs comin' are the jobs in retail like what I'm currently doing, I mean now what would be the point of going to school for this new generation if the only job u could get out of high school and even college is retail jobs where you're making minimum wage, that's why everyone wants to rap and play ball now, we need to have someone like Kerry in office that'll bring us hope, but at the same time I don't like all Democrats 'cause I think that Mcgreevey is a horrible governor regardless of this sex scandal, when he raised our taxes, took away our healthcare, and raised car insurance to a record high, on top of that he's taking away our NBA team to Brooklyn, making people hate to live in NJ, damn I'm glad as hell I could vote now!

[/quote] The line before "Just for some money" I put "In front of the whole country" and the next line I put didn't rhyme but that's ok 'cause not every line in a song has to rhyme and after that you know how government, full of it, and scandelistic all rhyme, so those lines do make sense and it wasn't 5 bars without one rhyme, only 1!

On Nas' album God's Son he has a song on there called "Last Real N Alive" which would have been a great single to release but he cursed too much in the 1st verse and said lines like "I borrowed from both them n----'s/ Jigga started to flow like us but hit wit "ain't no n---" where he rhymed wit the same word twice and it sounded like he forced some of them curses on that song that didn't need to be done, I only curse when I make a specific point 'cause I make all my songs like this one point I made about how rappers have been acting like prostitutes: "Who says it's just Dope for you to get ****ed The wrong way in front Of the whole country Just for some more money?"
