1. Will Smith should still be known as the Fresh Prince, a lot of ol' school m.c.'s kept their rap names so he should keep his as well, since people know Will Smith as an actor, it'll be easier for people to refer to Fresh Prince as a rapper. As long as he starts droppping more albums, I don't care what he calls himself though.
2. Kanye is a very talented artist no question about it, but I don't list him as one of my favorites of all-time yet, it's still too early for that. But when it comes down to longevity and consistancy, these are the 5 MC's that are never gonna be questionable for. I'd put 2Pac on this list but he ain't alive anymore, but there's no doubt that he's a hip-hop immortal. Anyway here it is: 1.Big Ted(Ready to save hip-hop and take over for a new era) 2. KRS-ONE(Even if he never goes platinum again, he'll still be making albums 'till he drops) 3.Will Smith(once he quits acting, he'll prove that rapping is his #1 priority) 4.LL Cool J(he'll still take out any mc that tries to battle him, he could rip any rapper on Def Jam right now) 5.Nas(he's a hip-hop legend that has respect for the game so he won't stop)
3. Hey AJ, How could u put Nas in the same category as Jay-Z, Nelly, 50 Cent, and Eminem when he's miles ahead of them? :dunno: He's a legend and has put out solid LP's, a lot of people say that "Illmatic" was his only great album but I disagree with that, his new single ain't the greatest thing he ever did but it's still solid compared to what else is out right now, his new album is getting solid reviews already, he's gonna be around way longer than those other m.c.'s u mentioned.
4. Hey Hero1 I'm feeling that beat, it has an ol' school feel to it! :thumb:
5.
I just used my rap name as my sign in name!! Its also my nickname as well!
Me too.
6. Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it out!
7. We'll be leavin' them wit scars So they'll remember that we ain't the ones to mess wit
8. I enjoy it, u did very well wit your flow in this one, and it was dope that u added Ashanti on the hook, ur doing ur thing! :thumb:
9. I like that it sends a good message, when i was in high school some kids tried to get me to get high wit them since I'm a rapper they figure that's what I do, but that ain't me, the problem is too many mcs talk about getting high in their songs so that brings a bad influence to the youth, it's nice to see that you're a leader not a follower, do ya thing! :thumb:
10. What's up y'all I posted this verse a while ago but now I'm gonna post the full length song with that verse, the name of the song is "Dark Ages"(Of Hip-Hop) 'cause that's what it seems like right now when the game's at a stand still. Verse One: Uh,Uh,hip-hop lost its head Too much pop **** That's what we gotta stop again Few wanna stop it Many performers are knocked with the gimmick Taken over from them industry heads Who just wanna bust elementary lyrics With more imagery pics Taken the place along wit filthy graphics What kind of great generation are we livin' in? When controversy outsells talent Y'all check the Billboards And where is the ill tour That happened before m.c.'s decided to kill more On record, no one's clever New generation of hip-hop is one dead blur And it's for sure That it's on the pop scene But it's not the dream The pioneers like Scott La Roc, Eaz-e, 2Pac, and Biggie would have like to see If they were still breathin' There are no ill LP's Five mics are all killed or deceased Not like when Jeff and Will were on the scene Now they're a bunch of lies fill C.D's That real cats won't buy Until you go to the camera guy With ya ass showin' for one million C.d's people'll buy Just to look at the picture on the cover But when they pop the disc In their stereos they'll wonder Was payin' this money worth it But they say hey that tight butt seems to be worth it Music is just hideously worthless Where is the reality of the sense When... Chorus: We're in the dark age Sure there's a spotlight But we're still in a dark age Where no performer can rock the mic Until the skills are displayed Nobody will pay attention what you got to rhyme 'Cause in this dark age We get blinded by the spotlight Talentless and by far a shame For me I gotta fight 'Cause I'm not tryin' to be a member of the dark age Verse Two: I can't believe how many peopele have been affected by this wreckless emotion But I got a restless devotion When I rep to mention a token Of grattitude that I have for the ol' school Sure u might say they've slipped up In your eyes they're not livin' up When comparin' them to this generation Sure they're not all flashy, but there wasn't a limitation For comin' up and creatin' These moves blueprinted for the new school But then we go abuse And use them in the wrong use For our own selfish means Not for a benefit of the team They talk about dynasty But it's just foul hype to see For them to collect what you've been workin' for And actually the fans are workin' more To get stuck on the short end To go forfeit It's just unfortunate These pros aren't idols to worship When they have no morals in them Losin' respect for themselves By selling-out is like prostitution when you're selling yourself To what everyone says and does Who says it's just Dope for you to get ****ed The wrong way in front Of the whole country Just for some more money? Where is your mind The government is also full of it Because all scandelistic Views come from there So they better not just dare Say that it's only entertainers That are out without a care None of that's true There's a limitation for what you can or can't do And sure we all go there sometimes Watchin' where you're at before you lose your mind Will show your character And I don't go to bother rappers That are tryin' hard to come with their own style I'm just bustin' at y'all that act so highly profiled That they forget that they represent The success that Grand Master Flash, LL, and Russell Simmons Started for you to get that ice on your neck 'Cause without them You wouldn't have bling-bling And if Run-Dmc wasn't hittin' “Down Wit The King” Or “Sucka M.C.'s” There wouldn't be platinum C.D's So it's better to remember where you are before you proceed 'Cause being a performer, the downfall comes with the territory And you'll get yours if you're just schemin' for fame off of controversy That's not what keepin' it real should mean [Repeat Chorus 'Til End]
11. Hey you made some good points in that verse, it could have been lyrically better but it was still a solid verse! :thumb: P.S.-Check out the verse that I posted a lil' while ago here on the board about the state of hip-hop, I'm gonna bring it back to the top so y'all newer members could read it.
12. Great job Jim, I wouldn't think that it was your 1st song you wrote if you didn't mention that! It's off the hook to see another cat represent for 'Jersey here, you're doing your thing! :thumb:
13. What does everyone else think of it? Keep the feedbacks comin', this song stands out as one of the more unique songs I ever wrote, so I'd really like to know what people think about it.
14. It's a great song, I like it when people tell a story about their lives in their songs, it just makes it have more feeling to it! :thumb:
15.
At this site, I think they consider me the best from the states rite now
How about me? I'm doing my thing too on this board holdin' it down 4 the U.S.! You got a lot of skills too though, if there were more rappers like us here, hip-hop would be so much better. Welcome Loco, I'm feeling that song, you got a lot of talent too. Damn we got a lot of talent on this board, we really are forming a dream team here! :thumb:
16. What is the pace of this song gonna be?
17.
THANX!! ...but why in the world dose Will have a bra in his hand? :eek4: 1 things 4 sure...that ain't Jada's! :speechless:
Probably some horny chick threw it at him!
18. Like Shaq when I step in the lane competion wants to foul me 'Cause they know I can't be stopped once I got the ball
19.
in the sources 100 greatest hip hop albums of all time.. hes the dj got mentioned.. girls was in the top 100 singles.. and ready rock c was in the top 3 best beat box's
Hey when did that issue come out? I don't really read the Source that much anymore.
20. Busta Rhymes is never mediocre, he's a hip-hop legend that represents his own style in the music, I've been looking forward to a Busta Rhymes and FP collabo for years!
21. Hey whatever happened to Chris Tucker? He hasn't released any movies since "Rush Hour 2" I believe and that was 3 years ago! :dunno:
22.
the way things are going at the moment.. i think he'll be in it...
It would be shock if he wasn't in it 'cause they've been hanging out during the I Robot promotion tour right?
23. In my opinion I think "Wild Wild West" is better than "Men In Black" as a soundtrack song and the video was a classic, one of the best he's ever done, Stevie Wonder's playing the piano in it, the dances are cool, and Kool Moe Dee with Dru Hill held it down as well. :thumb:
24. Like Chuck D I make sure "my oozie weighs a ton" So in this game I'll have longevity
