1. I'll switch places with Joe and post my freestyle first if Joe doesn't put his freestyle down soon if that'll make the battle move faster, I don't wanna get penalized if my potna doesn't respond! The other battle is also in the same position as our battle 'cause nobody's posted there for 2 days either, maybe it's 'cause of the holiday weekend. :dunno:
2. None of us are perfect, we shouldn't judge one person's character off of one misfortunate incident, Nas was a drug dealer that dropped out of high school but he cleaned up his life by writing rap songs and becoming a respected m.c., Queen Latifah was caught carrying a gun but she has a done many other positive things for women getting respect in hip-hop, and 2Pac went to jail but he's known as the greatest rapper of all time by many, so the positiveness kills the negativeness everytime! That song "Only God Can Judge Me" by 2Pac applies to all of us, so we shouldn't start pointin' fingers at those that are trying to make a difference, even if they come up short sometimes of what we consider who a true role model is, but a lot of rappers today don't worry about an image and that's terrible! :tear: 50 Cent should use his talent and popularity to make music that will bring more positive out instead of always talkin' arrogant without a care for anyone but "G-G-G-G-Unit!" that he's always promoting!
3. I think that Will was mockin' Eminem's delivery in that song.
4. You don't have to change anything 'cause you spoke from your heart and I feel that since it takes a lot of heart to speak how you really feel!
5. It doesn't matter if you're a mainstream artist or not, if you have true fans they'll find your album, I bought KRS-ONE's last three albums wit no problem even though he's on an underground label and I bought Jazzy Jeff's last CD wit no problem either, if you care enough about the artist, you'll find a way to buy the album, as long as it's released to music stores as well as internet. That's wack that most of the things you buy on the internet has to be bought wit only a credit card. I'm gonna be real, I don't have a credit card either and even if I did I wouldn't feel confortable releasing the number over the internet 'cause there's a lot of schemers out there! :cussing: I agree wit that point Jazzy Julie made too 'cause a lot of cats don't have computers so it'll be hard to reach all the fans that way. I only got a computer around the time I started posting here but I checked out this dope site for years when I was on a computer in high school and I now enjoy comin' here and chattin' wit y'all real fans! :thumb:
6. Hell no, they are the coolest white rappers of all time, Eminem will never get to their level! :thumb: Ultimately though, they're more talented than a lot of rappers all time(white or black).
7. Word up it's the veteran's turn up, y'all menaces are gettin' burned up I'm far from a lame m.c. 'cause my charge to the play constantly Resemble how I'm a star in the state of 'Jersey, ain't no way gettin' me I'm great like Treach and Vinnie and Queen La, so you better step to me propa Don't step to Big Ted, you're goin' to an early death bed j-o-e got my back as I go exceed the plot of my rap Prince's reign is over, step off the stage before you get told so 'Cause I'm a trained soldier when I comes to the way I rip flows I'm not about to give that up, my plot is now the move to blast chumps It's too tough to duplicate my cadence, since you hesitate to find basics I don't have to try in this I go rap true life, never scripted I provoke craft, you lie, witness my flow track the grind towards the win I'll blow past your lies 'cause when I'm sleepin' I can make a rhyme better than Your out of line trash on the design when you can easily give in 'Cause even Eraka Badu said "Maybe Next Lifetime" I'll be losin' to Prince and Jim I'm far from finished, my charge to bust lyrics, will keep me just tense When I do this for a livin', so I'm not losin' to a bunch of freshman I mean no offense, I was there before, but I put my time in, and I've matured As a lyricist, I got a high desire to perform and the light on me is shinin', for sure Whenever I rap it's a blessin', so there's no need for y'all to say no more
8. :thumb: Happy Birthday, have fun this weekend!
9. I tried it for the 1st time today and it's cool, so I'm cool wit it, I think I'll go there more often when i get a chance! :thumb:
10. In those episodes, it showed that Will's acting skills were starting to evolve, in comparison to the earlier episodes when it looked like he was just messin' around and being himself.
11. I was reffering the "No Diggity" video in comparison to the average flashy hip-hop video that are out now, but nevertheless that video was dope!
12. Sometimes videos that ain't flashy become hits, look at Teddy Riley's group Blackstreet, they made a big hit out of "No Diggity" and I don't think that the video was that flashy. I wished that song was a big hit as well 'cause Teddy Riley is one of the more underrated producers in hip-hop history. Alot of today's hip-hop fans might only refer to Kanye West, Timbaland, and The Neptunes, but Tedddy Riley paved the way for the type of producing they do in mixing the hip-hop and r&b together(in fact he discovered The Neptunes). Michael Bivans is a legend too and a lot of cats sleep on him as well but you can see how much of an impact their work to the game has been, but a lot of younger don't try anything new that's why these guys could still make great music over the crap that the young cats are doing! It would be dope to see Will collaborate again with Teddy Riley in the future!
13. Hey j-o-e, I'll team up wit you if you need a potna. Holla!
14. Happy Birthday, I hope you have nothin' but fun today! :peace:
15. That would be a great idea to see Will do stand-up comedy, I think he and Martin should do a stand-up comedy show at a club or a arena, film it, and release as a movie! Either that or an all hip-hop stand-up comedy show with Will Smith, Biz Markie, Redman, and Method Man, that would be dope!
16. I'll even listen to hip-hop from the early '80s that came out when I wasn't even born yet 'cause it was so dope, the music was original and so was the lyrics from cats like Sugar Hill Gang, Kurtis Blow,AfiKa Bambatta and The Zulu Nation, and Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. "The Message" is probably the deepest rap song of all time, all y'all youngeons gotta check that out! I didn't start listening to hip-hop and watching music videos until late '96/early '97, so I had a lot of catching up to do over these recent years and I noticed that current stuff has gotten weaker and weaker, so I became an ol' school hip-hop fanatic! Cats like Nelly and Eminem wouldn't survive against MC Shan, Kool Moe Dee, JJFP, LL Cool J, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Public Enemy, Run-Dmc, etc..., if they came out in that era(many say 1988 was the best year in hip-hop history and I was only 3, so I don't remember anything from then :tear: ). I sometimes wish that I was a little older so I could have witness the greatness as it was happenin'. Y'all older cats who were teens back then were the lucky ones!
17. What was that? It kept on skipping when I tried to play it! :dunno:
18. That song's really deep, that really sounds similar to "Afro Angel"! Thanks!
19. Enough props to both Jazzy Julie and Hero1 who posted great freestyles in a tight battle!
20.
they said wills career was dead after and in this corner..they said wills career was dead after code red.. you are saying his career is dead after born to reign..discount will at your own peril :eek4:
Look at how many comebacks Jordan made in the NBA(he won 3 rings after he retired in nine-trey and was still one of the best before he finally retired last year for the last time, we think) and how many times LL Cool J revitalized his rap career after sub-par albums(his career's the closest mirror image to FP), so "don't call it a comeback" Big Will's also been here for years!
21. I like listening to a lot of JJFP but I could say that as I've gotten older, my favorites have changed. Back in '97(when I was 12), when I bought Big Willie Style on cassette(I bought it on CD last year when the volume on my cassette was getting low) I was in love wit "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It","Miami", and "Yes, Yes, Y'all", but when it was '99 I got "JJFP Greatest Hits" I loved "Boom Shake The Room" and in 2000 when I heard Willenium I loved listening to "Will 2K", but now I think that song's one of the weakest on Willenium and I like listening to "The Rain" and "Potnas" the most on there. I got "Code Red" last year and I love listening to "Can't Wait To Be With You" and "There's No Place Like Home", but my all-time favorite JJFP song since I turned 15 has been "I'm Lookin' For The One"(To Be Wit Me) wit Teddy Riley on the hook(a legendary producer and r&b performer). When I bought "Born To Reign" in 2002 when it came out, I loved "Block Party"(it brings back great memories of that summer) and I related to that song "Give Me Tonite" when I was trying to get with girls my senior year that already had boyfriends.(I also related "Let's Get busy, Baby" to that as well). I also bought Homebase and He's The DJ,I'm The Rapper last year and I enjoy a lotof that ****. Now that I turned 19 a few months ago I find myself listening to "Just The Two Of Us" and "Chasin' Forever" and I see that I'm more serious than I've ever been(maybe 'cause I'm not a kid anymore), but it's cool though how music could affect your life!
22.
Wills career is dead now actually..
His career is not dead, In 1997 Will released his best selling album after mediocre sales from "Code Red" so that is a foolish statement to make! You'll be right though if this album coming out does poorly from a sales standpoint but I couldn't see that happen 'cause he has too big of a fanbase(but a majority of them will probably download it like they did on "Born To Reign"). Wait and see though, after Will releases this album and goes multiplatinum, you'll look like a big dumbass, why you gotta be so negative? :cussing:
23. I remember this punk from my high school who claimed to know everythin' about hip-hop but when I mentioned in my freestyle to him"I'm gonna be a legend like Russel Simmons", he didn't know who he was, some people are just dumb and they just are too scared to admit it, I couldn't believe that though!
24. KRS-ONE's more of a street rapper but the one thing that they have in common is that they have longevity in the music game regardless of sales or not. I like them both 'cause they both have different styles than each other and I'm not dissin' KRS-ONE 'cause he's great too and so is LL(they're alsomy favorite rappers), but I'm just sayin' that Will's record sales have been more consistant over the time span the 3 have been in the game and that Will should get props for that like LL and KRS-ONE get for street credability in their longevity. And another point, I doubt that anyone will listen to Eminem in 2020(he won't even go gold), so he won't ever get to Will's level! You sound like a Will Smith hater to me :cussing: !
