I wrote this right after I bought the Lost and Found CD almost 7 years ago, the happiest moment of my life so far!! “Big Ted's JJFP Anthem For Lost and Found” (JJFP 1985-2005 and beyond) Hook(Big Ted Chantin'): Even when I get signed JJFP will still be the greatest of all time Nothing will ever change my mind 'Cause if it wasn't for them my hip-hop knowledge would be blind Unique individuals continually shine Black/white/rich/poor peeps all relate to their vibe Their creativity represent the ways of life Verse One: Now in this year of 2005 Once again Jazzy Jeff's on the wheels and The Fresh Prince is on the mic To burn all competitors since they're the top duo of all time “Y'all know” what happens when Jeff's cuts back up The Prince's rhymes It's a moment of monogomy like “Summertime” But let's go back to year 1985 Which was the 1st year of my life And the moment when these two forces combined Then a year later in '86 The release of “Girls Ain't Nothin' But Trouble” would hit The b-boy circles and block parties formed a moment of bliss They'd rock the house as the freshest Then in '88 they released a classic disc “He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper” They'd reign as hip-hop masters Winnin' the 1st grammy in the music's history for “Parents Just Don't Understand” So all those hip-hop non-believers were slammed 'Cause like FP said: “I told my mother I could never make a wack jam” And the duo took even further command When Quincy Jones offered them a plan Of turnin' their hip-hop dominance into a TV show that was seen across the lands Starting in '90, “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” Took hip-hop to a place that nobody else could compare Of sayin' they did 'cause this cross-over of hip-hop opened a lot of doors for hip-hop artists Now the industry's a billion-dollar industry in the stock market With mcs on the red carpet [Repeat Hook] Verse Two: “And In This Corner” they vetoed fake crews like the supreme court Cuttin' no slack in the music There was haters talkin' foolish Sayin' that their style was soft since other rappers started rhymin' about bustin' bullets Too many started going on that gangsta tip talkin' stupid So they'd set 'em straight on “Code Red” Showin' those haters they never lost their street sense Yet they still kept the music positive A lil' “Somethin' Like Dis” would remind that they never forgot about their “Homebase” Even though you'd see them on your TVs on Monday And now it's actually shown everyday But anyways we'd then see FP doin' blockbuster classic movies like “Bad Boys” and “Independance Day” While Jazzy Jeff was on the low still rockin' crowds with turntable displays It still wasn't the same feelin' until they decided to concentrate workin' on “Big Willie Style” Which would be released in '97 That's when I started to get into their music I only knew them from watchin' them on my TV set when I was 10 I didn't know that the Fresh Prince was a lyricist until I heard “Just Crusin'” And a year later I was blown away when I heard the transformer scratches from Jazzy Jeff When I bought their “Greatest Hits” We've been “So Fresh” throughout this “Willenium” [Repeat Hook] Verse Two: They worked together on 7 of the 8 Fresh Prince discs Up to this point, even though FP has been “Born To Reign” The diehearts like myself that he wasn't gonna be supreme without Jeff's scratches So now once again it's about to happen Don't sleep on Jeff 'cause he got his “A Touch Of Jazz” label established We're preparing for “The Return Of The Magnificent” turntable assassin Just when everyone has thought Fresh Prince was gonna just stay acting The critics will see the sustaining passion Once again they'll be lost 'cause Philly's finest has found the interaction To bring us more anthems The critics will once again be sayin' “I Wish I Made That” Who knows what the future holds for them The White House might be the future home of Fresh Prince And they'll be a party thrown by “The Magnificent” with fellow hip-hop heads in attendance This might sound a bit of a stretch Or a “shadow dream” for some But who would've thought that 2 kids from West Philly Would be having 2 decades of longevity So anythin' that comes their way from this point on as “potnas”, they'll always stay “Numero Uno” on the scene Their “Love For The Game” and fighting through “The Rain” is an inspiration for you and me “Tell Me Why” you'd doubt their legacy [Repeat Hook]

I wrote this rhyme back in the day, the true heads that were on the forum back in 2005 probably remember this, back when we were all waiting for "Lost and Found" to drop, I was hoping the Eagles would win so JJFP would make their own song as well just like how LL Cool J has done this year with the Giants winning: “ '05 PE Super Bowl Anthem” Chorus: A dynasty in the making PE's “Fightin' The Power” and breaking Other teams who're cowards that start shaking When they see PE on the schedule they just hate it They'll all taste defeat, so face it PE's got the true dynasty now and'll dominate the Patriots To get known in NFL history as the greatest Verse One: April '99 marked the start of this dynasty Before then there were hard times for PE Back in '98, they were only 3-13 On the other end of history Only the die-hard fans were down with the team And many have jumped on this bandwagon now 'cause of victories But that day in '99 was when they drafted a QB After hiring head coach Andy Reid Who has lead playoff pushes since the Y2K Mcnabb has been the one to lead the way When he retires he'll be compared to Marino and Elway As one of the greatest QB's that have ever played Of course he wouldn't be nothin' if the offensive line didn't dominate Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan have had his back They're lineman beasts who don't give up the sacks They're the type of lineman who'll lead Mcnabb's longevity to last As the opposing 'D' falls flat To build a dynasty is a tall task 4 Straight titles in the NFC East exhibits the raw craft Has been designed and chemistry has always clawed to attract The best players to perform with 100% effort stacked In the NFL there's never a moment to slack 'Nuff props to the ownership and coaching staff Who put time in to focus making game plans Westbrook has become a stable running back Look at the total yardage from scrimabe he has A jack of all trades is what he's known as If you need big yardage call Fredex He made that clutch catch last year on 4th and 26 And also stepped up this year in the playoffs when PE lost Terrell Owens I'll get more into giving props to Owens in a minute But when you're looking for top tight ends Look no further and you'll find Chad Lewis and L.J. Smith They've made opposing defenders look mad foolish As for the 'D', PE's got a lot of weapons charging Brian Dawkins' leadership go the secondary sparkling He's been on PE since '96, being through the dark and bright moments Jerimiah Trotter, Hollis Thomas, and Corey Simon also take no garbage I can't forget about Mark Simoneau and Hugh Douglas That 'D's delivering hard hits PE's “Shuttin' Down” them haters The cheering crowd of tailgators Know all about the winning field goals from David Akers [Repeat Chorus] Verse Two: There's a lot of jealousy that occurs Opponents plottin' for PE to go backwards Week after week they had to learn That there's no relief when their plans don't work They can't match the schemes that we interacted to burn Competition who thought that plan would reverse From 3 years of not getting over the hump They wanted PE to self-destruct Sayin' that the winning days would be outnumbered When the media wanted PE and their fans to feel cursed So nobody would wanna play for the birds But then before last summer PE landed both Terrell Owens and Jevon Kearse Now all them punks felt remorse For those words they spoke The offense has been able to explode Thanks to the plays of TO Mcnabb has eclerated with the extra option that came to show Silencin' critics thoughts of how team chemistry would unfold By adding another marquee player to the mold But it only benefitted adding more weapons to the arsenal All the drama and controversy never overshadowed the master goal Kearse has lived up to the hype as well Giving opposing quarterbacks all types of hell The Lombardi trophy's up for grabs, so it's time to excell Let's kick back and check the scene This moment will last long in our memories As we're able to witness true power of this destiny The master coach Andy Reid will charge PE 'Cause they'll prove to have more heart Than Bill Bellicheck and company Once again like I mentioned in the chorus, this is history in the making The Lombardi trophy's what PE'll be taking [Repeat Chorus]

Turbo - Just The Two Of Us (with Will Smith) Korean Version
bigted replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I've been playing "Just The Two Of Us" a lot lately reminscing on all the good times me and papa have shared over the years and playing this song every father's day and jamming with papa to it has always been a treasure -
JJFP, Dru Hill, Kool Moe Dee "Wild Wild West", the production for the video is better than the production of the film even though I don't really hate the movie as much as others do, it's better than a lot of these garbage films out these days, the soundtrack's classic too giving us the first taste of the mc'in of the great warrior poet Kel Spencer, this takes me back to a fun time in my life, around the time I first started rapping back in 2000 my freshman year of high school, I wish I could rewind time and go back to some of those good times again but looking at this DVD makes me feel good!!!
-
Fresh Prince "Miami", I'm watching the video on my playstation 2 from the music videos DVD, like my man AJ I wouldn't really rank this among his greatest tracks but this track seems timely for me right now with how I could use a vacation after the longest month of my life with my papa's health issues, I'm thinkin' that there's gonna be better days where me and the fam could just chill and enjoy life like that video!!
-
like i said it just feels to me that even though this has been a long and dark month of my life that this is one of the signs that god's turning things around for me, it's real that you gotta focus on how big god is not how big your problems are

btw I emailed Keith Sweat this morning as well and here's what I said: "what's up keith sweat???!!! hey man thanks for that autograph cd, "high as the sun" makes me think about the fun i have working as a cashier at the beach in seaside heights and watching the sunrise from the boardwalk, your music has such uplifting and positive messages to them, it always helps me to relax, especially in the longest month of my life recently with my papa being in a rehab center with dementia and a lump in his lung, i've been playing "til the mornin" and the lsg albums nonstop during that time period, i remember gerald levert died around the time i was having some health issues myself but once again y'all music helped me live on man... that cd i received yesterday in the mail felt like a gift from heaven, god bless you, you've been my favorite r&b singer since i was 11 years old back in '96, there's "nobody" doing like you brother, and ll cool's been my favorite rapper since that time too, both of y'all should do a best of both worlds joint, it'd be the greatest thing ever made, anyway enjoy the super bowl since i know you a giants fan, peace....
-
It's something wonderful how god works, me and my mama were coming home from the church with our food packages and i found a package at my door and it was an autographed copy of keith sweat's new cd "til the mornin" who's my favorite r&b singer, the letter I got with the cd said this: "January 30, 2012: The Sweat Hotel and Premiere Radio Networks would like to congratulate you on being selected as a prize winnter in Keith Sweat's Pick My Single Sweepstakes. As a prize winner, you have won the enclosed autographed copy of Keith Sweat's CD 'Til The Morning. Once again, The Sweat Hotel and Premire Radio Networks would like to congratulate you and thank you for participating in the sweepsstakes! Best regards, Jessica Kastlunger Integrated Marketing & Promotions Assistant" i'm a believer something big is happening right now, it feels great to know that his new single is influenced by me, it's gonna be "High As The Sun" since that's the track I was feeling among the choices they had, some of them made the album some of them didn't, tough choice 'cause this is his best CD in a long time, it has rarely left my CD player since I got it in December, check it out on youtube and buy the album 'cause real music should be supported, i'm so happy right now i could cry but i don't want to see my mama get too overemotional, tears of joy baby, lol....

i woke up this morning and i was thinking about don cornelius that died because my family loves "Soul Train" like i said in my post and i was thinking about this song by Guy "Long Gone" which one of the members Teddy Riley(another Teddy like me and papa who shares the same birthday like my papa which is October 8th, that's something how god works)sings on that track and dedicates to all of friends, family, and entertainers that died, i sang that song on my voice recorder this morning, here's the song from youtube if you never heard it, I always think of this when somebody I care about leaves us:
-
Lately I've been reminiscing on all the great things that me and my parents have enjoyed together over the years since my papa's been sick to keep a positive feeling going and "Soul Train" definately comes to mind, it bridged the gap between soul, funk, and hip hop, music is the bond for my family, when I was growing up papa would play his James Brown and Kool and the Gang, mama would play Marvin Gaye and Barry White, and I'd play LL Cool J and JJFP, and we all enjoyed each other's music, I told my parents many times when I first started writing rhymes in the early 2000s that I wanted to perform on "Soul Train" one day but with the state of the music industry and the way internet killed the TV star a lot of that quality programming died off, Rest In Peace Don Cornelius, peace love and soul baby!!! On another note "Soul Train" first came on the air in the early 1970s around the time my papa first came to America from Haiti

on a lighter note of everything that's been going on lately my mama had a dream recently that my papa tried to escape the rehab center but queen latifah was the security guard that saved him from leaving, my mama usually got a strong sense when she dreams about things so i told her that probably means that I'm going to meet Queen Latifah and record a song with her and papa will be healed, i feel in my heart that something positive is going to happen....

Staying On Meditation: -as i take a walk on the boardwalk and glance at the ocean i think about my lifelong best friend reminiscing on all the time well spent james brown sang about how papa don't take no mess and that represents gracia to the fullest in french i always tell him "papa je t'aime" 6 years of french class tutoring before we go to bed we always say "bon nuit" even on the days when things aren't so sweet the bond we got was there even when we disagree the generational gap got bridged constantly word to will smith "just the two of us", you and me on that note no matter what happens we won't go in defeat like eddie and gerald levert, gracia sr. and jr. are the wind beneath the wings it hurts family and friends that you have this terrible disease you've come a long way from the days you spent over in haiti and you always worked hard to make a living for your family so now as them nurses and doctors take care of you all of us are doing our best to remain cool like luther sang in "dance with my father" through this i pray for my mama even more than me you taught me to always thank god for another day whether it's pouring or it's nice and sunny and as the tears come down pouring in my heart i know the lessons will build for sure again i know no matter what happens with this dementia you won't ever forget that nothing will come between us as best friends i'll always remember to mind my own business to say my grace before i eat my breakfast and that i should take nothing for granted you paved a foundation that i'll always cherish

i copied and pasted my thoughts i wrote on my facebook page about seeing my papa yesterday at the rehab center just in case y'all didn't see it, thanks for the support tim, i'm keeping it moving: it was bittersweet to see papa yesterday for at the rehab for a few reasons *the good thing is that he still knows who me, mama, the family and friends are *another good thing is that he knows to still talk to god about life's situations and that i told him i've been reading my french bible once again and said "Je t'aime papa" to him once again, he helped me learn my french *it's definately sad ...to see that he's confused about things around him and that he doesn't fully understand what's going on with his body because he'd always have a sense about that during his life, he'd always meditate and listen to his body *the nurse told me to look over mama while she takes care of papa -i took a walk on the boardwalk today and got an idea to write some lyrics about all this
-
i'd like to share a few of my thoughts to my friends out there about how i've been feeling lately with the situation i've been going through with my father, i appreciate all the support y'all give, i keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers as well: my mother has been having a head cold over the last week or so so i've been doing more things for her around the house trying to take the load off of her feet, things have been up and down for us but we're thankful that we're making it through and we've been calling the rehabilitation center and my father's hanging in there as well, we haven't got to see him for the past week since my mother hasn't been feeling well but we're hopeful to see him tomorrow since it's been a good weekend for us, we've been able to relax and watch some funny dvds together like "dr. dolittle" and "big momma's house" and i felt good watching some of the chicago bulls-miami heat game on tv this afternoon, i was even having a problem with the soundcard of my computer that i fixed the settings to today so i'm able to listen to some music on youtube.com again, listened to some of the new krs-one album on there which felt great since he's one great inspirational rapper that makes me feel good about life, music always been a therapy for me as well, i'm staying working on my lyrics as well, i feel i have a lot to say and on that note i close out this note by saying peace to my peeps good bless and good night... -i also came to the realisation that the first rhyme I wrote on New Year's 2012 was "The power of God lives in Gracia/A proclamation of hip hop's love", I feel god's been trying to tell me something, I'm gonna keep in moving 'cause bright days are ahead....

Need Help With Playing Audio On My Computer
bigted replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
thanks defcem, i just checked my soundcard settings and i'm playing songs on my media library and youtube again! -
What's up y'all, I was mentioned this in turntable's thread but I wanted to go into more details in this thread, my computer's been having problems playing audio off the internet for the last couple weeks and since I've been thinking so much about how my father's been sick I haven't had much time to focus on what the problem is but whenever I try going on youtube to listen to a song it doesn't play anything, when I try playing a video the video comes in but I can't hear the sound on my speakers, this is really tripping me out... To top it off, hundreds of songs I got saved to my windows media player's library haven't worked either for some reason, the only audio I've been able to play on my computer lately has been from my CDs I put in the CD-ROM drive, any help would be appreciated...
-
There are times where it's hard to agree with everything KRS says and does but I admire the fact that he's willing to keep on the grind despite the fact that the music industry is in the gutter these days, it's really sad that so few people appreciate quality albums when they just look for the disposable pop crap jingles`
-
Hey Turntable I'm gonna check out those beats soon but right now my computer's been having problems playing audio off the internet for the last couple weeks, songs I got saved to my windows media player haven't worked either for some reason, the only audio I've been able to play on my computer lately has been CDs, does anyone know what the problem might be?
-
This was a refreshing read, the 76ers have been the surprise team so far this season in the shortened year, it's nice to know Will's spending some time in Philly so the hope for another JJFP project is there, and that Common-Drake battle is one of the biggest mismatches in hip hop since we know how much of a legend Common is
-
Well thank god somebody's still putting out classic hip hop, the recent KRS albums have been my hip hop fix while we've been waiting for Fresh Prince to drop some classics after the 2005 "Lost and Found", "Hip Hop Lives" is probably one of the better albums in hip hop since "Lost and Found" and all the other ones are quality music as well, don't get it twisted Turntable I've been trying to get into the new school mcs you mention in your threads but there's no way they put it down like the legends do, KRS-ONE on his 25th album is better than J. Cole on his 1st album, he ain't slowing down one bit
-
With all the drama in my life lately with my father getting sick I haven't really been thinking much about new music but I decided to do a search for new music and was surprised to noticed that KRS dropped a new one, y'all know how much KRS is one of my favorite mcs ever so this is exciting for me to look forward to, check out the review: http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/album-reviews/id.1827/title.krs-one-the-bdp-album
