  1. I`m for shure that they both will go another 10 years anyway..
  2. Same here, except that my Mum is 56. see this is the thing, some parents have it in their head that because an artist talks about guns, sex and drugs that their kids will do it. this is why the whole PA sticker came out, because some Washington wives were concerned about it. however, studies show that most kids arent influenced by that stuff and if they are its because they come from a broken home and or have some mental instability. i know confronting your dad right now might not be the best thing, but try to show him that you listen to Will Smith and Run-DMC and try and show him how those are good lyrics and try to show him that you are mature enough to not act on other lyrics that dont fit your values and that he's raised you well enough for that not to affect you. just be glad u got some good music out of it like Run DMC cuz thats a great album and ATCQ is always dope too. TED: responding to Ted's quote about PE, you might be surprised at the controversy surrounding PE in the late 80's. altho they were no NWA, Ice Cube, 2 Live Crew, or Ice-T, they still had some controversy on their albums for "voilence, anti-Semitic thems (racism basically) and militantly black separatist" and that's a direct quote from the book i have about music censorship. Chuck D's response was long as usual, but he said that he is trying to make the next generation responsible and get out the mess they're in to lead a better life. Professor Griff's albums were also banned from many record stores and considered "obscene" for the same reasons mentioned above, although there was hardly any profanity. also, "Hazy Shade of a Criminal" was banned from MTV for a riot scene back in the day. in addition in 1996, a Jewish advocacy group called for boycotts on PE's single "Swindlers List" saying once again that it is anti-semitic (racist) because it alludes to Jews in controlling the banking industry and the words "six" and "millions" referring to the Holocaust. Chuck D responded saying no harm was intended, that "six" referred to the six major record companies and "millions" referred to the million man march. I know a lot about the controversey that Public Enemy faced since that's one of my favorite hip-hop groups, they don't hold back their feelings on social issues, some people could be offended by that if they have different views and that's the reason why they ain't as popular 'cause what they talk about might not be popular opinion, butI think people should respect them for putting thought into music even if they don't agree with everything that they say 'cause a lot of rappers don't put thoughts into the music they make, I find it hypocritical that people put down rap for not making music that could educate our youth when they ignore artists like Public Enemy and KRS-ONE, their music is edutainment as KRS would say, music that educates, and I think the reason why the older generation has been resistant to hip-hop is that the media don't give shine to positive artists and they only promote thug images with rappers, black radio plays 50 Cent all day and don't play Will Smith,I mean they give Three Six Mafia an Oscar and they shove intelligent groups like Public Enemy to the side, a lot of what Chuck talked about in "Swindler's Lust" is true, labels treat real artists badly and they promote negativity... I often dont agree with the views of Pubkic Enemy, and someties I fo feel ofended. But I`okay with that, caus I respcet theyr views. They are realy into something whne they talk about it. And they do it in a very good way, they can write. Thats why I like to lkisten to them. They dont just talk ****, they have strong opinions. Even tho mines are often diffrent, I like to listen to theyrs. Whats wrong with that? Believ it or not, there are kids in the suburbs that might actauly have probelsm. Porblmes dont have to the based on beeing poor. For example probelsm in your family life, big time problems. You can be a ritch lil bitch, and you can still suffer under that. I dont see whats the diffrence between a Rapper teling us about how he had so sell drugs for money, and between a Punk singer telling us about how his Dady abused him for a long time. Myself, I prefer listening to Hip Hop caus I like that style of music more. But as a person I mostly cant identefy with the, with theyr problems. But with for example Good Charlotte I can identefy. I feel that they represent me, even tho I like to listen to Hip Hop allot more.
  3. I guess its easyer for LL to go on with music, but ist easyer for Will to go on with the acting. I would say its about the same.
  4. I`m glad you are better now. It sounds like a terrible thing. I wish you good luck with getting even better.
  5. It`s realy the chorus of Nelly`s "Die For You", right?
  6. Jadakiss Feat. Mariah Carey-You Make Wanna
  7. Ovr here the edited versions dont even get released, lol
  8. Thats nbot a problem in my family, and it never was. Maybe partly caus my mmum doesnt understand very much enghlsih. But even if she would, she wouldnt care. She akso doesnt with the german Mc`s. She understands that liberla thinking, and she understand that people use swears to express themsels stronger. She likes allot of Hip Hop oo because of me. She also understands that some of them just say **** to entertain and that they dont mean it. I would say its like this in most european familys, parents dont realy care about that. Over here I never heard a story like that.
  9. Yes, I guess he did. Whats Keft Of Me seemss to be about her. Anyway, I like this album allot. This is just a nice Pop album, and thats rare these days.
  10. I`ll get this anyway, no doubt. And I`m hoping for some new stuff.
  11. Javier-The Answer Is Yes This is the best R&B album this year, fo sho.
  12. Yeah, thats a cool Track. The Album is full of stuff like that. I love this reggae with a lil pop melodies type of stuff.
  13. Mariah Carey Feat. Bone Thugs N Harmony-Breakdown
  14. Ofcourse its legit. He said it himself in one of the biggest european magazins for ecletronic music.
  15. Giant Panda! You should check that out AJ!
  16. Hoodstock, Little Brother, Masta Aces new crew....lol. I hate it when people tend to say things without actalyly looking for it first.
  17. If its not to much to ask, what are you suffering under?
  18. I got this out of a new german interview, from the magazine "Raveline". Its a DJ Magazine, mostly about electronic music. In the Interview they talk about what he has done for Djing, and what kind of stuff he`s into. They call him "The Beset DJ Ever". They talk about him going into Houe a bit more, and they talk with him aobut Hip Hop a lil. They also talk about Touch Of Jazz. Nothing about anything from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, but there is this about a House Album. And he also says`s h`s`going to release 2 more albums, a Hip Hop one & a Soul one. I`ll write a translated version of that part: Raveline: Since you play House, did you ever considered producing House? Allot of DJ`s that are from Hip Hop do that, like Spinna. Jeff: I`m producing House for a couple of years now. I think I have about 30 Tracks now. Kenny and Louie know that, and they talked me over that I`m gonna release it. In 2006, this year, its gonna be released. With help from Kenny Dope, I`m gonna relase a House album. Ravline: On A Touch Of Jazz? Jeff I thik its gonna be a colaboration with Keny`s Label "Dopewax". Keny`s probably gonna mix some tracks and Barbara Tucker is probably gonna sing the vocals for it. Raveline: In 2003 you Remixed a Jazzanova Track. Is that gonna be on the album? Jeff:There is a big chance, yes. I like Jazanova, and I mixed theyr track. Its gonna be ready for my House Album. In 2006 I`m also gonna release 2 more Albums. A Hip Hop Album and a more Soulfull Album.
  19. You cant blame music for crazy kids. Chris Rock said it before, I say it now. I grew up listening to Ja Rule, Biggie etc. I dont think I went wrong. The kids who do bad stuff have other problems, that dont have to do with the music. What Oprah did with Luda was redicoulus to me. But well, I still respect her. This whole issue is redicioulus, let it die.
  20. The thumbnail description of Matisyahu: File under Hasidic Beatbox Reggae. Despite having markings of novelty, it's really nothing of the sort. Fronted by a man named Matisyahu (born Matthew Miller), they are truly a band. Two independently released CDs brought them a rapid and well-deserved ascent, making their signing with a major label a logical step. Youth benefits from a more expansive sound and production by the fantastic Bill Laswell (Golden Palominos, Laurie Anderson, the Last Poets). Matisyahu's singing and the substance of his songs (spiritual living, self-awareness, the value of knowledge and learning, kindness to others) are presented with a loving sincerity, and buoyed by tremendous musicianship. In particular, drummer Jonah David and guitarist Aaron Dugan bring a wider set of influences and interests to their playing than the reggae tag the band often gets. Free of any proselytizing, this melding of Talmudic teachings and Jamaican rhythms flows so naturally that it underscores the shared roots of the two cultures. Tracklist: Fire Of Heaven / Altar Of Earth Youth Time of Your Song Dispatch the Troops Indestructible What I'm Fighting For Jerusalem WP Shalom/Saalam Late Night in Zion Unique is My Dove Ancient Lullaby King Without A Crown ------- I checked out this album, and I gotta say its to damn amazing. It has a great Reggae vibe, like I didnt hear for a long time. The melodys often have a kind of pop appeal with it, but in a positive way. Its has motsly very deep lirycs, and a great production. Sometimes even wth a lil south amerikan flavour. This is the true new Reggea masterpiece, and not Damian Marleys album. Everyone that likes that style of music should definitly check it out. Its worth it.
