  1. I just think that Statik Selektah (both solo and with Term), Skyzoo, Rah Digga, Refelction Eternal and others released much better albums. I agre on How I Got Over tho, maybe my favorite Roots album. Nas & Marley was average, they did not take enough time I think, it ended up sounding like a blender to me. Cee-Lo did not release a Hip Hop album as far as I know, I dont hear him rapping anyway. And Big Boi was good, but not as good as others, maybe thats because I do not realy appreciate electronic sounds that much. One of the best release this year, probably my second or third favorite was Fashawn's Ode To Ilmatic mixtape. That was incredibly dope and once again proved how timeless Illmatic is.
  2. Jay still is one of the most respected Mcs of all time, Nas too ofcourse
  3. That is all true. Overall I would say Nas is the better MC, but Jigga is a better track-maker. Illmatic is a long time ago, The Black Album is not.
  4. The Roots, yes.. the rest should not be on that list. Thats the nonselloutyetstillcpopishlist right there, It Was Written and Illmatic are masterpieces.. Thats it tho. The rest of his albums were good, just good. Jigga made three classics, not as good as Illmatic, but as good as It Was Written.
  5. I liked Rihannas first album, because the way she mixed "modern-day -Ahanti-like-R&B" with island sounds was fresh. After that she fell off hard in my opinion. Most did tho. Beyonce and Kelly Rowland for example. Only MJB and Mariah did their thing. Ashantis last album was nice too, but thats a while ago, it was her best album in my opinion.
  6. DMX would not kick it with you, he would just kick you because you do theather, unlike Kanye.
  7. Bluprint 3 is not that mainstream, its a fresh sound. Blueprint 1 remains untouched tho. 2 sucked.
  8. Ether was a whole track against Jigga tho, Takeover was about a few people. I cant remember Jiggas second track.
  9. Invicible actualy is my second favorite album (solo albums that is) after Off The Wall
  10. Invicible is actulay my second favorite Michael Jackson (solo that is) album after Off The Wall
  11. Yeah they aint, they got slaughtered the last time they tried
  12. Jigga is a legend. His best albums are on the same level as Nas' best albums. That being said.. Nas killed Hove.
  13. It's not so much his ego as it is his inteligence realy. 50 is a pretty smart dude, he alwas kept his bussines on point (especaly when dealing with the IRS), unlike Buck and Game. How can 50 be in the same group with an ididot like Buck, especaly when the idiot believes that 50 Cent and the IRS have a demon plan to sabbotage his career?
  14. A reunited G-Unit (without Yayo though) could make a great record. It's not gonna happen tho. Eeven if 50 and Game make up, which I doubt, they wont get Buck back on board.
  15. Kanze is not how you think he is, everything that ya'll hear about him is part of an image, he is way to avantgarde for the hip hop crowd these days, they just dont get him. Kanye is a smart man.
  16. Haha yeah exactly AJ, thats all I need.
  17. The vocoder, as far as I know, is a tool to realy change your voice into this roboter/alien voice. Autotune is a tool used to make it seem like you can sing. For example: If you sing bad, they put the right amount of autotune on your voice and you will sound like a boy band singer. They are the ones that use autotune the most. If you turn up the autotune too hard, you will sound like T-Pain, which is close to the vococoder, but not the same if you listen a little more closely.
  18. But there is a lot of very good hip hop out there coming from young cats, its time to support them too. @ BigTed & AJ: I understand wht you are saying and I respect that. It is a mather of taste I gues, up to a certian point. I grew up listening to Mobb Deep and I rather listen to Hell On Earth than Tougher Than Leather. But both are classics. I mean, at the end of the day we all love Hip Hop, we all live Hip Hop. Who cares if you dont like Jigga and I dont like Hammer (not saying it always is like that). We all agree on the fact that D4L and Wakka Flokka Flame are wack, so it's all good. I just think sometimes we should be a little more open minded to each other, I mean just because somebody likes to listen to gangsta rap or nonsense rap, as I like to call it, sometimes does not mean he does not know or supoort real Hip Hop. Same goes for the artists who make nonsense rap. If they have skills, if they know theyr history and if they make it clear that what they do is nonsense rap, they can be just as real as Common to me, if you know what I mean. I'm just saying, if somebody got skills like Pusha-T, there are times that I can enjoy raps strictly about coke and diamons just as much as a song about the beauty of marriage. Cam'ron is a good example too. One of the biggest **** talkers, but a very special Mc, so I dig it (not mentioning that suddeny he comes around the corner with one of the realest songs in the last 10 years, I hate my Job. Same with swearing, I respect that you dont like it, but thats real nothng more than a opinion based on religion (most likely) or something like that. Just because people think difrently about that does not mean they are wrong and swearing does not make an Mc less real.
  19. Rick Ross has something a lot of other popular rappers have not, meaning very good in house producers behind him. I woudl kill to hear more good mc's on some justice league beats.
  20. I dont realy do not see the point of this. The rhymes you posted are supposed to convince me of what? That Hammer is a lyricist? Those rhyes are not bad, not at all, but they are simple and thats that. Just look at too legit to quit. Rhyming new to true and so on is simple, not wack, but simple. Like you said, a good Hammer song is good because of the energy. Hammer is not a lyricist, Big Pun is a lyricist, Talib Kweli is a lyricist, Hammer isn't. Thats okay, he can still make good records, I mean Talib Kweli can also make bad records.
