fan 4ever
Thanx 4 posting! It's sad to see that some good albums are doing so bad on the charts! But then again...do sales even matter?
Frenetic
It' pretty obvious it's because of the holidays are over and people just don't buy as much albums at this period. And a 71% drop is still pretty good comparing it with Jay droppng 79% after his first week and now Bow Wow dropping 78%. I actually think Nas will do plat in a couple of months. Let there be light and Black Republicans should be released as singles. I think JT will do triple plat. Maybe even more. He's got alot of smash hits in that album. Jay will probably do 2x plat. He's releasing Kingdom Come as a third single and then probably Hollywood or Anything as fourth singles. That should push it to double plat. Robin Thicke is doing really good. Staying consistent and didn't do a big drop compared to the other artists.
DaAce
ha ive only bought two albums from that list Ghostface - More Fish Mos Def - Tru3 Magic im not a fan of lupe(most over-rated IMO), clipse(their content isnt much appealing to me), jay-z(never was a fan) and even nas(just his last cd)
ash trey
im not a fan of lupe(most over-rated IMO) Really? Why is that?
Turntable
His album is great when it comes to lyrics, flow, and sometimes also production.. But here is something about it that doesnt grab me at all.
fan 4ever
How can y'all say that? Lupe is the truth man! Songs like "The Instrumental", "Sunshine", "Kick, Push II" are among the best Hip Hop songs i've ever heard!
Turntable
Yeah, "Kick Push", "The Cool" and others are amazing tracks. You could say all tracks are good. But he doesnt seem to be able to entertain me during his whole album, even tho I like every track seperate.
DaAce
when youve heard and listened to what ive listened to and taken hiphop further than the average hiphoppa, your level of whats good, whats average and whats bad are redefined... im not saying he's bad, just average... he has good presence, decent lyrics and overall i dont think he deserves half the spotlight he's recieved, YET. i like that he's himself but like i said, he's a bit over-rated because people hear an artist who doesnt speak on violence and negativity 24/7 and put him as hiphops future and saviour... im not knocking him, i hope he does good for hiphop but when i rank people and decide whats good or not, im doing it not amongst whats out now, but over a span of 30+ years of hiphop
WesSyde
but would you admit that hes one of todays best artists releasing music hip hop wise? i know theres tons of underground artists releasing albums today, but would you put Lupe in a category as one of the best artists releasing music today? TopDawg14
I have always liked Lupe. I think his Food & Liquour album was the hip-hop album of the year. I just think people have different opinions about it. I try to listen to the lyrics real close nowadays and Lupe's lyrics are on point. Warriors), filled with potential, can make great highlights but is still very young (to the game), wont shine now but if he stays consistant, will shine soon. thats the best way i can describe him

rcpbball30
I can't believe that last week Bow Wow sold 260K, that is outrageous. Ciara's album is doing very well, but it does seem that there is a post holiday sales slump.
