TopDawg14
2.22.07 - Fresh from the post-Grammy buzz, sales picked up for a number of artists including Mary J. Blige(with 2 albums in the top 25), Justin Timberlake, Corinne Bailey Rae and Gnarls Barkley. Perhaps the biggest story is the continuing success story of Robin Thicke. His sales jumped 90% from last week and now has platinum in his sight when most analysts didn't think he would go Gold. The Evolution of Robin Thicke continues to get great word of mouth and increased airplay... on urban radio stations. The late Gerald Levert debuts at #2 while Norah Jones continues her strangle hold on the #1 spot. ash trey
Nice to see John Legend holding it down there...too bad there's no hip hop artists enjoying as much success as their pop/Rock counterparts.

mfuqua23
I was scanning these sales, and I'm wondering what are the record labels thinking? We're all complaining about what's promoted on mainstream hip hop. And it's not working?!? Where are the "Lil"s and "Yung"s. Yeah, I seen Yung Jeezy. If labels main goal are to sell records and this "gangsta, hustler, poor message, awful party music" is not working, why do they stay with it? Hmm. JumpinJack AJ
I waz thinkin' the same thing. It's lookin' like all the money-chasing cRap acts are just getting radio play without the album sales now.
J-o-e
The only thing I'm dissapointed is that "Eminem: Presents the re-up" is actually above Jay z and Nas's albums which are about 10 times better than that peice of garbage, on the eminem album I like two songs, "No Apologyies" and "Cry Now Remix" and on Nas and Jay z's albums I like pretty much every song on both of there albums, I cant see how that works, nobody sees the truth in the industry these days, AJ why don't you take Jay Z serouisly? "Kingdom Come" is one of his greatest albums so far, he says so much truth on it. but we have our own opinoins and I respect yours:)
