TopDawg14
Weekend Update: I Am Legend is coming toward the end of its U.S. run at the box office. It finished #16 on the weekend box office chart with $2.1 million. However, the movie has now grossed over $250 million in the U.S. and it has become Will's 2nd highest grossing movie(domestic) of his career surpassing 1997's Men In Black and now sits $55 million behind 1996's Independence Day. Its international total by all accounts is supposed to surpass $300 million before its run ends. The movie is expected to surpass $550 million worldwide when its run comes to an end making it Will's 3rd highest grossing international movie of his career. Domestic: $251.6 million Overseas: $262.5 million Worldwide: $514.1 million Edited January 28, 2008 by TopDawg14
TopDawg14
The actual weekend numbers have been released and I.A.L. fell from #9 to #17 in the U.S. finishing with $2.2 million. Still it was good enough to surpass $250 million and become the the 2nd highest grossing movie of Will Smith's career. The U.S. box office is now being outdistanced by its international counterpart. It snared another $27.5 million overseas and now it looks as though $300 million is not only going to happen but it may finish around $325 million. Domestic: $251.6 million Overseas: $290.0 million Worldwide: $541.6 million All-Time U.S. Rank: #41 All-Time Worldwide Rank: #

VIsqo
The thing that surprises me is that this is not a typical movie, its kinda strange, and it gets a lot of money though...
Da Brakes
Thats the draw of Will Smith. It wouldn't have made as much money if just any actor did this
Guest Guest_TopDawg14_*
Will Smith's U.S. run at the box office appears to be at end but the international box office still appears to have legs. I Am Legend chalked up another $13.4 million over the week. Should I.A.L. rack up another $18.5 million before the end of its international run, it will surpass Men In Black's $589 million total. Domestic: $254.1 million Overseas: $317.4 million Worldwide: $571.5 million All-time U.S. rank: 41 All-time Worldwide rank:
