bigted
LL Cool J Readies First-Ever Mixtape May 20th, 2008 | Author: Slava KupersteinWith over 20 years in the Hip Hop game, LL Cool J has managed to remain successful without the aid of mixtapes - something that many artists use to build a buzz for their upcoming albums. According to MTV, that's all going to change, as LL is readying his first-ever mixtape, The Return of the G.O.A.T. Hosted by DJ Kay Slay, the mixtape will feature guests such as Busta Rhymes. "Anybody that's featured on the mixtape has to be on a classic LL beat," Kay Slay said. "LL's got an album coming out," he continued. "I think he's just aware that he has to have that street presence and make people aware he still is the G.O.A.T. and he can still spit. A lot of people are under the misconception that LL is making those grown-and-sexy records, that he ain't with the street vibe anymore. I think he wanted to step back and let people know he's still the G.O.A.T." The Return of the G.O.A.T. is due in the upcoming weeks.

JumpinJack AJ
I think he's only doing this becuz so many of his new songs are so "common" and right up ally of the people who typically like the boring, unfocused, uncreative mixtapes. Mixtapes are typcially the dumping ground for anything that won't make the album due to many reasons...the main one being that the music is average. Will i get it? Yes. Will i like it? After everything i've heard so far...i'm not sure how 2 answer that one yet.
