Jin
I checked allhiphop.com lately again and there was a thread going on how will never gets credit for his contributions to hip hop. I am an JJ+FP for about more than 10 years and I realized that there has been a shift of thinking in peoples head. Even when Big Willie Style was out, there were not such threads on public hip hop boards and Will has not released an album since 3 years. It seems like that L+F has resurrected his rap career...what do you think about the impact of the album?
Turntable
I dont think thats what it is. It's just the fact that hating on new artists gets bigger, and people start to like people they use to hate on.lol. it's allways that way. i love epmd for dissing hammer on rock the bells tho.lol
TopDawg14
I think it's just a case of people looking over Will's entire career and realizing that he put his stamp on hip-hop. When L&F came out, I was on a bunch of message boards and people were giving Will his props. I also think that rap has become so blah that people start going back & refreshing their memories on cats from the old school. No matter what people say, I defy anybody to say that He's The DJ/I'm The Rapper was not a classic album. I defy anybody to say they weren't blasting Homebase in '91. And as much as people tried to hate on BWS, they were bumping that too. Edited November 19, 2008 by TopDawg14
JumpinJack AJ
I think the fact that FP is sleeping on his music career is the saddest thing. So many people listened 2 that album and loved it. They were surprised by it becuz of Columbia's pop promotion of him. He wasn't being marketed as a rapping movie star anymore. No silly soundtrack songs on the album. FP had some things 2 say and people agreed. The music was good, his passion was there, the lyrics were dope. Jazzy was at his side. Her performances were good and his video found the fine line between classic Fresh Prince and 2005. He promoted the album and carried himself like a Hip-Hop artist since he was being promoted (kinda) like one. He got attention whether people loved the music or not. If he would have dropped an album 2 or 3 years later with that same mindstate and mission, he very well might be at the top of the Hip-Hop game right now. I think the decline of mainstream Hip-Hop and commerical rap has gone so low for so long that some people really are saying "wow, there really is no MUSIC in that artist's production. Wow, people like Lil' Wayne and Plies can't even form a sentence." The average IQ of your average rap star is 5 years...the same amount of years that they are usually popular. U try 2 kill an art for so long and u are gonna get a backlash. It'll get people's head right and say "whoa, FP really does have something good 2 say." I'm hoping he stirs up his passion for Hip-Hop again next year...it just feels right.

sonic1988
Its honestly a little shocking that its already been three years since his last album. Hopefully he'll release something really big again.
Jazzy Julie
Ive lost all hope of music to be honest. The "summer tour" was the nail in the coffin for me.
KevTastic
Everytime we hear something it just never happens. Even from their own mouths. So i will just wait until i hear a new song with my own ears.
analogue
I just think that FP needs to be aware of how much people want new music from him cause i don't think he really knows.
TopDawg14
I just think that FP needs to be aware of how much people want new music from him cause i don't think he really knows. That's the thing. I think he does know but just isn't feeling it right now. I don't want to say he's done with music but it has been 3 years since L&F. I hope I'm wrong but I think L&F was his last album. I just think he wanted to say all needed to say on that album and then leave the game. analogue
Well if it's possible that Lost and Found could be his last album then i'd wish he'd just tell us instead of sending us mixed messages all the time
KevTastic
Yeh L&F would have been a good sign off record if he'd said that it was. But he just wont ever give you a strong answer
