dparrott
Just listening to the CD last weekend, and I wondered if there was any interview, video, or something out there of the making of the album. I'm interested in that stuff, how the songs were written, produced, etc.

dparrott
The album credits say it was recorded in London, so is that a lie?

JumpinJack AJ
If anything, i've always wished they'd release a double disc deluxe edition of this album. Classic albums get this treatment...why not He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper?? Remaster the sound. Put the full length 12" versions on it instead of the shorter CD versions. Throw on those extra interludes. At the end of the 2nd disc, add on the remixes, instrumentals and radio edits from the 12" singles. If Jive has any related audio (live performances, interviews, etc), throw them on their. If FP was doing music in a big way and old school Hip-Hop was getting a general appriciation, this wouldn't be such a hard thing 2 imagin. A DVD with performances, interviews, the music videos, etc would but dope.
dparrott
I don't think the full 12" album will fit on one CD, I tried, it's like a min. or two over. "Another Special Announcement" could go on the second CD, but this is still a great idea. Edited January 22, 2009 by dparrott
Hypestyle
ah... all of the jive albums should be re-released as deluxe versions.. at the very least on Itunes, if not a limited-run hardcopy.. include 12-inch cuts- b-sides, period remixes, some new remixes.. jeff & will could collaborate on books detailing the recording of their seminal work.. bigted
The whole JJFP collection should be re-released, remastered, and have exclusive bonus material with it
DJ ?uest
It would be great but record labels aint trying to make us happy. You never know though......Will puts out an album with decent buzz and you may see something.
Hypestyle
too bad most labels treat their rap catalogs terribly.. one of the lingering issues is lawyers being skittish about sampling-lawsuits and not wanting to re-release older albums with the upgrades we've mentioned.. Jive falls under the Sony-BMG network, so all their artists need deluxe edition treatments, no doubt..
