The Fox series, which has built itself into a $500 million dollar brand, has featured performances of popular songs like Rihanna's 'Take a Bow,' Cee-Lo's ubiquitious 'F--- You' and several Billy Joel standards, but Slim Shady's music was reportedly too expensive for the show. In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy explained that they had planned to perform Em's '8 Mile' anthem 'Lose Yourself' on the show, but were unable to afford the license, which would have cost them a whopping $200,000. "We couldn't do it because the episode would've been so over budget," Murphy revealed. In the meantime, fans can look forward to an upcoming re-enactment of Michael Jackson's epic 'Thriller' when 'Glee' makes its highly anticipated return on Feb. 6. Eminem released his seventh studio album 'Recovery' in June of 2010. The album sold 741,000 copies in its first week and is up for ten Grammys this year, including Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. My thing is, it's a bunch of corny kids watering down songs and never doing them justice. That annoys my too bad. Why would they need 2 touch an Eminem song. I always watch the last 5 minutes of it because Modern Family is on after it (which is real funny by the way) and it always makes me feel like I have to lay down. Jazzy Julie Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 I love Glee, you might like it AJ, its weird bcoz its really cheesy and normally i hate covers of songs but for some reason it works. I think the show doesnt take itself too seriously so it can pull off cheese. Im so glad they wont feature eminem, i seriously cant stand him still.
