Big Ben
Just curios what it's like. I just got accepted to John Jay for graduate school and am 95% sure that's where i'm going in the fall. The only other choice is Fresno State. I'm just wondering what kind of culture shock I need to be prepared for.

VIsqo
Friendly is not the best way to describe this city, lol. Well, it will all depend on where you get to live. The are really good places here to live, but also some pretty bad like the Bronx or some parts of Brooklyn. Just let me know when u are ready to move in and Ima give u some good pointers to survive The New Yorkers state of mind.
Jazzy Julie
Really Visqo? lol maybe the people where i live are complete asses so NY seemed nice. Seriously the thing i came home with was that people were so nice. Maybe they were nice bcoz they like my accent, Americans are obsessed with the British accent. I nearly pulled 2 guys bcoz of it lol.
Turntable
Yeah the accent is also starting to take over american tv shows. It's a rule now to have one british person in you'r pilot. It's becoming a gimmik
VIsqo
Its that British people just sound smart. I dont know what is it with the accent but when I hear a girl with it, I stop dead on my tracks.

Big Ben
I think I should play the lottery because that 5% seems to have won. I just couldn't swing the living expences of NYC so I'm gonna be heading to Fresno. Just thought I'd update if anyone really cares
VIsqo
Good choice lol, here things can get pretty expensive depending on where u want to live..
Big Ben
Well this should be the last 'update' for this old thread. Unfortunitly my plans fell through, financially I just couldn't swing the cost. I couldn't get a student loan that would give me the money before the school, only way I could get across the country, and Cali just raised tuition and i was already paying out of state rates. Anyway, my parents are gonna let me hang at home, which isn't really cool at my age, until i can get my finances in line for next year. Since my knee hasn't treated me well I'm pretty sure that my goal of law enforcement, in the capacity I wanted, is out. But this is just pushing me to go to graduate school for the only other thing that's driven me, and that's being creative. I may go for Writing, but have been really thinking of switching it up and doing film, behind the camera since I'm no eye candy. Anyway, that's my update, thanks everyone who gave me advice. Silver Tiger
I just got my degree from California and it is literally the best possible thing that can happen to you. I had to get a new phone number because employers would not stop hounding me for my expertise in Mass Communications. It became a bribing game with them. Microsoft sent me a gift basket and then Google sent me a car. Toyota felt stupid that they didn't do the same (they paid for me to go to Hawaii for the summer). I still don't know who to side with. I feel like the prettiest girl at the dance.
