bigted Posted September 8, 2011 Report Share Posted September 8, 2011 it's too early to tell if this game album's on the same level as his previous albums but i think he's putting together enough quality music to consider him one of the greats in hip hop, the only reason why lil' wayne and jay-z/kanye are selling more than game is 'cause they're getting more radio play with songs that appeal to a commercial audience but game knows how to put together quality and his album is getting more praise from the critics than those other albums are it ain't just me saying that, they consider the game album above average, the jay-z/kanye album average, and the lil' wayne album below average... you could say a lot of the best stuff these days are on mixtapes instead of albums and that's 'cause record labels won't release certain stuff unless it's watered down, it's just like how interscope didn't release will's "tell me why", you could say ll cool j's "return of the g.o.a.t." mixtape sounds better than "exit 13" just like game's "r.e.d. room" mixtape sounds better than the "r.e.d. album" 'cause record labels like def jam and interscope want something that appeals to the kids.... Same goes for a lot of Rappers coming from Houston and places with a Hip Hop scene close to the one Houston has. People do not get that there is a diffrence between a East Coast Rapper and a Rapper from those scenes. You can not compare Rakim to Z-Ro or Bun B and then say "oh Z-RO can't spit like Rakim so he is wacker".. Doesn't work like that. Hip Hop is way too diverse to think like that. I would never (well never say never, but at least not one he has released) buy a Young Jeezy Album, but I have to give him his props. He is very good at creating a certain atmosphere and he is more diverse than people think. He is the one that had a Hit with My President Is Black with Nas. He doesn't spit like a good East Coast Rapper, but he doesn't have too, it is not his thing. It is about creating a certain vibe, just like people like UGK and Z-Ro have been doing forever. They still adress a lot of diffrent topics (Z-Ro f.e. has a a few realy deep songs on every album), but they never realy focus on Skilz, it is about the vibe. Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV toppled its competition at No. 1 with 218,800. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Weezy's long-awaited new album has sold 1,184,100 records in just two weeks. Rap stars Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne dropped two slots to No. 6 with 49,300. Headed into their sixth week, the duo's new LP has moved 836,000 records. R&B superstar Beyonce's 4 also fell a couple notches to No. 9 with 25,500. With 11 weeks in the books, her newest solo effort currently stands at 764,800 sold copies. West Coast rapper Game's R.E.D. Album dropped 11 slots from the Top 10 to No. 19 with 18,800. After three weeks, his fourth solo album has pushed out 155,500 units. Grammy-winning rapper Eminem and Royce Da 5'9's Hell: The Sequel slipped one notch to No. 21 with 17,400. With 13 weeks under their belts, Bad Meets Evil's summer EP has sold 515,900 copies. Miami rapper Pitbull's Planet Pit took a huge 20-slot jump to No. 27 with 14,100. With three months in the books, the rapper's new solo effort stands at 205,900 sold records. Pop star Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans slipped three positions to No. 35 with 9,900. After 49 weeks, the singer's album has moved 1,258,500 records. Pop singer Rihanna's Loud fell three slots to No. 40 with 9,100. With 43 weeks in the books, her album has shelled out 1,452,900 pieces. Young Money star Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday dropped ten slots to No. 43 with 8,900.
