In 1989 Jet Magazine released an issue recapping The American Music Awards which were held January 20, 1989. DJ Jazzy Jeff along with Whitney Houston won two awards that night. Remembering a time where talent was pivotal and African Americans where conquering the entertainment industry, its always nice to go back to the roots of those who made musical history.
