Hypestyle
I'm just wondering-- especially after the show became a hit, the song should have just been released as a single, with a full video to it.. I'm not sure why this angle wasn't pursued by Jive..
DevilsJim89
Probably because the theme song video is technically the opening credit video. There was a soundtrack released in 1992 with it on the album but not sure if it made any money.
JumpinJack AJ
Well, while it's done in the tradition of the JJ+FP song, it isn't a song that was promoting an album. Keep in mind that And In This Corner... had relatively lackluster sales. So having them push out a new single right on the heels of that album was probably seen as a dangerous move. That soundtrack and single was released overseas as a remix titled "Yo! Home To Bel-Air." Since the US is probably the most finicky and critical music audience in the world, I'm guess that's why they only released it overseas. KevTastic
Was a top 5 hit in Holland. But only randomly in that country.
JumpinJack AJ
That's where my CD single and my 12" single is from. I'm pretty sure that's the only place it was properly released; which would explain its chart position.
