Ale
In the second episode of Vinyl Destination, Season 2, DJ Jazzy Jeff and his crew make rounds on the West Coast. Their first stop is San Francisco, and the name of the game is gadgets. Jeff pays a visit to DJ Tech Tools where he puts on his designer hat to create something really cool. Then Jeff heads to entertainment technology giant Gracenote where he participates in an intimate interview with his good friend and president of the company, Stephen White. And if you thought it couldn't get better, Jeff and the guys meet up with the legendary Qbert at the Thud Rumble office to talk music and gadgets before a night of a lifetime at The Mighty with DJ ShortKut. In Vegas, the guys discover that Way Too Many, literally means Way Too Many at a 90’s themed party at Ghostbar in The Palms Hotel and Casino. Or was it a furry party? Either way there's plenty of music, dancing and drinking to go around. Jeff closes out his trip in the Big Apple to pay a visit to some other longtime friends. Find out who in this episode of Vinyl Destination.
Admin Hero1 Posted January 28, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted January 28, 2014 I enjoyed the first season more to be honest. The motorboating a booty was pretty funny but I think making fun of people who came to your show..however crazy they are is not really a good look.. Sway is dope so I enjoyed seeing that part of the interview. Also I really like the new credit sequence but why does it only have Steve? Shouldn't it include the whole crew? Just a bit too much on camera interviews for me.. I think it slows the momentum down of the show.. I much prefer riding with them where they go and Jeff talking to camera wherever they are at and explaining whats going on.
DevilsJim89
Steve's opening for this episode was hilarious. I almost just spit my coffee out because of how funny that was. This was pretty funny and my only complaint would be more of the Sway interview - well behind the scenes and some of Jimmy Fallon. Overall, great stuff. BTW - that Dosage track at the beginning is a banger. Where can I grab that?
KevTastic
I am enjoying the new approach. Whether or not it plays out well over a dozen plus episodes or more we will see.
Da Brakes
I actually prefer this format they've got going for season 2. Seems more progressional. This wouldn't sit out of place on a TV channel at all. We also get a lot more camera time on the whole crew and what they have to say! Nic61974
Hello everyone! Thanks so much for tuning in for each episode. Tim, you aren't alone in your feelings for the new approach but we thought it gives the show a fresh feel. We thought it was boring to see plane, car ride, show, hotel, plane, car ride, show, hotel, repeat. Also, keep in mind what you are seeing are the first few shows of last year. So the feel is different then the guys being on a month long tour. Some of the episodes are going to have the commentary and then some aren't, Cris is playing it by ear. Also, the motorboating the booty - I don't think Jeff was so much making fun of him. You know Jeff is one of the most respectful peopleand it's not even in his character to be malicious. So with that said, we thank you guys for the support! And Jim, there will be some highlights from Fallon and the rest of the press he did in NYC last year.
