Fox is developing a half-hour comedy based on the Will Smith feature film Hitch, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The network has handed out a script commitment to the comedy. Inspired by the 2005 movie about a professional date doctor, Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television will exec produce. The single-camera comedy is being written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (Made of Honor).
