TopDawg14
I know we like to have discussions about what we would consider to be classic albums. With hip-hop being 30 years old, that discussion would be endless so here's a different spin on it. We would pretty much agree that the golden age of hip-hop ended around '93(give or take a year) so which albums since 1994 would be a classic album? Here are my submissions: De La Soul - Stakes Is High(1996) Will Smith - Willennium(1999) Nas - Illmatic(1994) The Fugees - The Score(1996) Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill(1998) Outkast - Stankonia(2000)

TopDawg14
I know i'm gonna miss alot, but here are a few of what i consider the best albums of the past 10 years...i dont' know if i'd consider them "classics"...but definitly the best. A Tribe Called Quest "Beats, Rhymes, & Life" Busta Rhymes "The Coming" There's a few of my favs. AJ, I wanted to put a Busta Rhymes album on my list but I couldn't decide. I really liked the coming but if I had to choose one of his albums it would have been When Disaster Strikes. Also, Beats, Rhymes, and Life was good but I don't know if I could put it in the classic category. The Low End Theory & Midnight Marauders were Tribe's classic albums. Just my opinion, though. bigted
Hey bigted. How'd U get 50's "power of a dolla". That wasn't officially sold. Is it any good compare 2 his "Get Rich or Die Tryin"? I actually bought it from one of my friends in high school that downloaded it for me, it's a lot better than "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'", no comparison, him, Jay-Z, and Eminem were a lot better when they were underground than they are now! :ditto:
freshstecki
Well ... I go additionally 2 most of ur stuff with da 2 Artifacts LPs... "Between a rock n a hard place"... and da newer but not as dirty soundin "that's them"... Attack of new Jeruzalem... and I go with another guy from New Jersey... Redman... I really hate all dis newa club Hip Hop stuff... n I don't like da album with MM ...BUT "muddy waterz" is a classic n I still love 2 hear it... Rock da spot... Then I want 2 mention dis 2nd Jazzmatazz Album... Guru masterpiece.. da LP from 1993 was fantastic but da second part of dis triologie is da incredible masterpiece of Jazz Hip Hop fusion.... I think da second second Digable Planets with dis all time bomb "9th wonder" is also a classic... but I don't know more of dis more underground album... Main Ingrediant is already mentioned... additionaly I want 2 mention Pete Rock's 1995 LP with Rob O, Marco Polo, Ras G n da rest of da crew... u know "INI- Center of Attention"... incredible stuff... underground classic, cuz never offical released be4 2002, I think... then without a comment: Krs 1 - I got next...BOOOM BAP 1997 Pete Rock - Petstrumentals Alkaholiks - Coast 2 Coast Madlib - Shades of Blue Hieroglyphics - 3rd eye vision Nas - Illmatic Roots - illadeph halflife n Things fall apart I'm tired... good night..
