SEALK
The Good People He sits at the bar and drinks his life away He’ll solve all his problems got at this bar today Shot after shot he’s been drinking a lot He has no friends, alcohol is all he’s got It’s ten o’clock, now it’s getting late That day he had a bad important business date He decides to go home and sleep the drink off He moves to get off the stool but instead he falls off A man comes over, picks him up and offers a ride But he’s drunk, he just storms off outside He stumbles into people on the sidewalk Now you can’t understand at all when he talks He moves to the car, he just might faint He can’t get the key in the lock, he scratches the paint And before you know it, he got in the car He sped through parking lot and left the bar Chorus: Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? Trials and tribulations can make a good man fall Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? It’s sad when the good is triumphed over all the evil A happy family at home, the perfect evening But in a few minutes the wife was leaving She was off to the store to get some flour She said she’d be back in about a half an hour The husband sat there and would baby-sit the kids A loving father, that’s the man he is The wife grabbed the keys, as she was ready to leave Then she looked down and felt a tug on her sleeve “Mom can I go to, I wanna be with you” The little boy was five and his sister was two The wife said, “we’ll all go, but Dad can stay and take a nap” He winked, cause he had presents to wrap He looked out the window and watched them leave Then he wrapped the last presents to wrap on Christmas Eve In the fireplace, all the logs would burn Than night he learned his family would never return Chorus: Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? Trials and tribulations can make a good man fall Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? It’s sad when the good is triumphed over all the evil That drunk driver in the car wasn’t doing his best Going thirty over, he wont give the engine a rest He’d been speeding the whole time after the bar Left and right weaving between the cars He has blurred vision from drinking a load He swings to the left on the wrong side of the road The wife from the house is on her way back And the kids are as happy as can be, she bought them a snack They turn on the radio and sing Christmas songs Tonight they would do this all night long The tires are wet and the road is slick But the wife is smart so she wont drive quick She missed the street she was gonna turn down So she would take the next right instead of turning around When she got to the next right and turned down the street That’s when her and drunk driver would finally meet She swerved away but he hit her back end She saw light of diesel and that’s where it would end The husband starred at the tree standing tall And was surprised this late at night to get a phone call He picked the phone up and said hello And all his body movement became real slow He slowly sat down as he heard the news Tears rushed down his face, his whole family he’d lose Chorus: Repeat 2x Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? Trials and tribulations can make a good man fall Why do all the bad things happen to the good people? It’s sad when the good is triumphed over all the evil
mfuqua23
This is real good. When I 1st read it, I thought it was gonna be 3 scenarios. But I liked how it all came together. I can see the story as it was being told too.

SEALK
I like to write songs that are lyrical and visual. I was playing with this idea in my head for a long time, one night I just decided to write it. This song took me an hour to write. Writing is my obsession.
