bigted
aj and bigted for the life of me i dont understand why you act like you speak for hip hop when nobody who listens to hip hop thinks like you too Hey once again lambert, what did I say that'd make u believe that I'm speaking for everyone? :dunno: I have the right to say that Dr. Dre has fallen off and I have the right to not like The Game, that's my opinion, your opinion doesn't speak for everybody either. What point are you trying to make here? :dunno: Just 'cause the rappers you listen to sell millions of albums doesn't make your opinion more relevant than mine. mfuqua23
I got the Game's Album and DVD for only $13 from Target. I scanned the cd in the car. It's cool. The DVD is another story. I watched that 1st and it's very sad. He'd end every sentence wit n**** (most times when it made sense). He had his home 4 Bent in the video when he was alive, then had film the funeral. Yeah, it's sad, but it's ridiculous. About 5 different people "kicked" a rap. The DVD is about 51 mins, not including extras. One thing that was funny was if U don't pick an extra to watch, (and the reason I didn't, was cuz I wanted to listen to him go on and on and talk), he's comes up to the screen pointing a gun at it and says something like, "U wasted too much time, u should've pick something." Then the screen goes black and white flickering while U hear shots. Then it goes back to the main menu and about it it says "U Should've Pick Something". That had me laughing. I'm peeping that album right now. Pretty good. Plus u supposedly get a free Game screen and ringtones on your phone if U send the code. but I saw the small print. :thumb:
JumpinJack AJ
Don't get me wrong, i'll still listen 2 the album in a record store cuz i try 2 be open 2 everything....but after what u said about the DVD, he sounds like every other ignorant loser with a record deal. When i like an artist, only some of it is becuz of their talent. The person they are, where the come from, and what they say is the main reason. I like JJ+FP cuz i like where they come from, what they say in their music. It may not be what some people want, but they remind me of myself and say things that i can relate 2. Some fool worshiping jewlery, toting guns, selling drugs, and sexin' every slutty female they meet ain't nothing 2 brag about. First i'll say they are living lies, and if they aren't, they aren't living right. THeir music is poison 2 the young, impressionable minds that hear their rubbish. Why am i gonna support a loser like this?!?!
Guest Kristin
http://www.thebeatla.com/Article.asp?PT=Home&id=61562 it'll only be up 4 a short time but u could listen to the whole album here. 'Dreams' is a HOT song.

Admin Hero1 Posted January 19, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted January 19, 2005 i thought i better give this guy a go so i listened to westside story i cant believe people like this crap :nhawong: if y'all like that kinda music you need to go pick up souls of mischief - trilogy.. the album has a kinda similar sound with the beats n that.. but souls of mischief have real skills they could rip any1 on the mic..they have amazing chemistry on the mic..but they actually use their lyrics 4 sumthin..they dont rap about killing people..instead they actually rap abt everything thats wrong with that whole lifestyle..and try to spread some knowledge to people.. check out tracks like "bad business" + "danglin" + "****ed in the industry" and "that aint life" if you wanna download sum.. okay thats the last time i click on a link from one of these guys..im goin back to listenin 2 my souls of mischief albums :werd:

bigted
The only west coast mc on the mainstream that I really like is Snoop Dogg 'cause he doesn't do every song about killing people, he has fun too with his music and from most of the feedback here about this The Game album it sounds like that this album's most of that fake gangsta s***, now don't me wrong I like some gangsta hip-hop, but most of what I like from that is the late '80s NWA,Ice-T and early '90s Dr. Dre/2Pac/Snoop Dogg 'cause they made songs with a lot of meaning to it but I don't see that anymore, now every mc says they're a gangsta and from the streets but that doesn't mean that they are. :ditto: I also agree with Hero about how there's mcs like Souls of Mischief and Supastition on the underground that would tear most of these mainstreams rappers apart 'cause they make songs with heart and meaning! :werd:
mfuqua23
People have talked about he's got big producers behind the boards. Yeah that's true. A lot of the beats, U'd just love to hear for the fun of it. That's the way I felt when I scanned it in the car. (only reason I didn't let the raps come on was cuz my dad was in the car :kekeke:) I like his lyrical progress for what it was. Nothin' to blow me away. He did mention alot. So that #s list stands true. It's in everyday language, at least in his way of life. Fake or not. But there's a way to answer the questions we're dealin wit. WildWildWillennium
Just my opinion, but I can't really stand how he doesn't do a very good job on these hot beats. I listened 2 some of his stuff...I find it hard 2 listen 2 tho' cuz I feel like he's not very deserving of these beats (4 lack of a better word). There are emcees that could just rip it so much better. I feel like these beats are wasted. Like most of u said above...they put the good production on the album 2 cover up 4 his lack of skills. It's kinda like when Tim posted Pep Love's verse on the "On Fire" beat. It waz so much better than Lloyd Banks and I find that's kinda the case with The Game. It's not easy 2 listen 2 seeing as the lyrics are not at the same level as the beats.
