JumpinJack AJ
Eric B. + Rakim are personification of real Hip-Hop. Their sound wazn't commercial yet wazn't underground. Heavy in DJ's skills and heavy in quality production. Not 2 mention Rakim being the best emcee of all time. FP himself said in an interview that Rakim is the only cat he'd never try 2 battle. Anyways, most Hip-Hop heads know of what they are 2 Hip-Hop, but 4 those of u who don't and love old skool, check out their "Best of..." collection put 2gether thru' 20th Century Masters. The sound is crystal clear and mastered for the 2000's. While it's only 11 trax deep (and missing one of my personal favs, "Me Melody"), it'll give u a taste of their work 2gether from the mid-80's thru' the early 90's. I only bring this up cuz, 4 those of u in the US, and want this album or would be interested in it, it's on sale at CIRCUIT CITY for only $6.99 this week. mfuqua23
I got all the Eric B & Rakim I'll need. It's "The Best of Rakim" 27 tracks I think. Nice blends and stuff. Rakim is truly a talent artist that speaks however he feels it and he (in my opinion) has always done it right.

JumpinJack AJ
At $6.99, this is a steal!! This is one of the best groups Hip-Hop ever had...if not THE best. For those of u interested, this is the chance 2 take up on getting a good taste of them at a really good price (and totally remastered). When u listen 2 an Eric B. + Rakim album, it has u saying stuff like "oh, that's where that rapper stole that line from" or "hey, this artists jacked this beat 4 themselves." For the serious Hip-Hop heads only.
Members trexican
rakim and slick rick need to be the two most sampled emcee's in terms of line scratches-trex
freshstecki
no doubt.. Eric B n Rakim are true hip hop legends.. their sound is representitive 4 the late 80ies Hip Hop era... I really love them.. Most people know Paid in full, but my favourites are "Soul.. u got it!!" n "Follow the leader".. I must get their 1991 LP 4 dis year.. one of dis vinyls, I always wanted 2 have, but always 4 about it.. However, Eric B Rakim make my body movin.. u must dance, if u listen 2 their uptempo stuff... so "any emcee who disagree with me, just wave ur armzz";-) Peace.. Silver Tiger
Yeah, the 20th Centry Masters CD is the only CD I have of them. It's real tight though. You can tell Rakim is great at battle lyrics. He just goes and goes, every line, bang, bang, BANG. Get it. God Blessa!
