WildWildWillennium
The Boston Herald caught up with Dr. Counter who finds the project "flattering." "The film will be based largely on truth and factual things, but they do take a certain license you know," Counter advised the Herald. "What they proposed to me was a film based on the adventures in one of my books on the North Pole. ... They'd use the exciting stories, the difficulties, the problems I ran into trekking over the ice." "And, of course, there were good guys and bad guys," Counter continued. "It makes me laugh when I sit there and listen to them (Will and producer Debbie Allen) recreate my life. They make it seem so exciting." The Herald said Counter "expects filming to take place 'all over,' including Greenland and the Amazon." But Counter added, "Except I understand that they have to make such films in Canada because of costs." Dr. Counter also sang the praises of Will Smith whom he called "a hero of mine" and "extraordinarily bright and fascinated with math."
