TopDawg14
Updated Numbers: Domestic: $177.6 million Overseas: $180.7 million Worldwide: $358.3 million Hitch is close to finally closing out at the theatres. It appears unlikely that Hitch will pass Pretty Woman($178.4 million) as it still a little over $800,000 short. The movie could only muster up $240,000 over the weekend. Hitch is in less than 300 theatres nationally meaning it will soon completely bow out of theatres. On the international front, Hitch could only muster up less than $2 million since the last update. Even though the movie has yet to open up in Japan, it will be very tough for Hitch to pass $200 million overseas. On the upside, this movie has been a phenomenom for Will Smith & Overbrook Entertainment. The movie cost $70 million to make and possibly another $20-25 million to market making it a "big budget" film. With its U.S. gross of nearly $180 million, Hitch has greatly surpassed movie analysts' expectations.

MaxFly
It'll be interesting to see how it closes out. How well do romantic comedies usually perform in Japan incidentally?

TopDawg14
Updated Numbers: Domestic: $177.6 million Overseas: $181.7 million Worldwide: $359.3 million Hitch will probably bow out of all theatres this weekend in the U.S. It is not being tracked by BoxOfficeMojo.com and that happens when a movie is in less than 200 theatres. Overseas numbers are down as well. Hitch pulled in about $1 million and with Revenge Of The Sith opening in many countries this weekend it appears Hitch's great run is finally over. Hitch will end up #4 on the all-time domestic romantic comedy list and #5 on the international romantic comedy list.

TopDawg14
According to MovieCityNews.com, Hitch has now made $177,819,084 as of May 19th. Still in theatres, although on less than 200 screens, Hitch is desperately trying to get to the $180 million mark. It will probably fall short of that by at least $1.5 million but nonetheless it still has been a huge success for Sony/Columbia Pictures. With Hitch as its best movie, Sony/Columbia has the largest percentage of the market share at 15.4%(or $448.1 million). Expect that to change with Star Wars - Episode III being released by Fox. Hopefully we'll get overseas numbers later in the week. :2thumbs: :respect:

TopDawg14
Updated Numbers: Domestic: $177.8 million Overseas: $182.4 million Worldwide: $360.2 million Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith crushed all the competition this past weekend meaning Hitch could only muster $700,000 at the international box office. With Sith opening up in more countries this week, look for Hitch's overseas number to be just about non-exsistent. Don't be too sad. Hitch's international box office just passed Home Alone 2 to #89 on the all-time list. Because of Hitch's incredible numbers, Will Smith now has 4 movies in the top 100 both domestically and internationally. Here are his numbers and ranks: Domestic Box Office/Rank: 19. Independence Day - $306.2 million 33. Men In Black - $250.7 million 63. Men In Black II - $190.4 million 80. Hitch - $177.8 million Worldwide Box Office/Rank: 12. Independence Day - $817.0 million 26. Men In Black - $589.4 million 54. Men In Black II - $441.8 million 89. Hitch - $360.2 million
