bigted
Well I decided to write another song regarding the state of hip-hop and the culture in it, but this time I suggest a couple solutions to make it better, check it out y'all, feedback appreciated! Verse One:You listen to the tracks of hypocrites If you only happen to have your radio tuned in Those rhymes you hear there are all confusion Only a bunch of foolish children Would say that there's skills exhibited Without a display of lil' expression Not enough to claim the will of aggression 'Cause we see these artists boxed in For what the record companies want from them Instead of doin' what's needed for the spirit To make into more a complete vision You can't only do it for the lust of money and b*****s There has to be something done to influence the older heads That we can progress in this movement As well as getting the youngeons into it We need to add more balance to the playlists So the music can appeal to all ages The older folks have swayed away From it 'cause immature games ain't ok with them But they don't even participate in supporting the great artists Without having a care In worry over promoting, these artists just keep bringing the flare Into the performances, but to get airplay is rare We gotta remember that if it wasn't for their impact, the buisiness wouldn't last the wear and tear And it seems when they try to share Their knowledge peeps have been ignoring But instead of making a change, they keep supporting Those lame mcs, like they actually expect them to progress Staying in the same perspective Sounding lame and reptetive These consumers have sold out so they ignore the ones that remain competitive Now I'm not sayin' these pop mcs don't have any talent To get in the business they put their dues in Once they make it, they're only bickering Talkin' about things that're irrelevant Losing the sound form of intelligence Remember you won't make sense If you only flow to make checks That won't make you a legend You won't have a soul if you sell it No control or truth you'll get What u do to diss others will burn you in the end Sure now you might sell a lot of records With a weak shot attempt of an effort But one day you'll get ignored Since these kids will gradually mature When you're continually getting worse They'll begin to thirst for something more pure Which means that your large fan base will fall short And legends will eventually win the war By getting the credit deserved for all the years of effort Hook: I wonder how you could choose to sell out I'm not trying to bring you hell now I don't wanna keep you down But things that come around go around when you choose the wrong route I wish you'd have a change of heart to make better songs now 'Cause it hurts to see God's given talent go drown Verse Two: You don't realise how blessed you are But that success instead has made u sound more hard Headed, instead of being humble you run around immature And people say that you're an ignorant star Who forgot the routes that you worked hard for Like Nas said a lot of people would say “These Are Our Heroes” And 15 years before that Public Enemy was saying “She Watches Channel Zero” Which is now TRL,when these lil' girls watch too much of it they'll grow to be hoes Zero's the percentage of knowledge you'll gain From all the gossipin' which is all lame These days we see the same picture You'll release a song praising the scripture But then you turn to complain about not winning awards I have to ask what are you doing this music for? Personally I'm like Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince “Twinkle Twinkle, I'm not a star” When I started rhyming though, my mind wasn't mature As I am now, once again I realised I saw the light from the passing of my grandmother Before that moment I just wanted to be large But since my grandmother's death I got closer to the love we see from God And then I saw DMX in a video paying homage to his grandmother Which reached so deep in my heart I was able to realise how music is able to influence you no matter who you are That's online towards to the moment hip-hop was origined Now we're online worldwide talking about the movement But it seems more argue over who spits the dopest rhymes and sold the most records And who's got the most street cred I always argue back though that the positive influence makes you an mc legend The rank will always change and we all have different opinions So the most important thing is to recapture the essence The main question I ask is How are we gonna be able to attract positveness if we're arguing over pettyness? The celebrites that go to jail get the most recognition And how are we gonna have unity Between all races if there's still division in the black community? If the slaves from 200 years ago came back, they'd say that we still have slavery! In our minds, treating black queens like hoes ain't ok for society Getting back to the essence while hip-hop pioneers are still wit us is a main mission for me [Repeat Hook 'Til End]
