I bet the ones that voted for Jay-Z probably never heard much of Rakim's stuff, he's one of the most conscious mcs to get on the mic, Jay-Z can't compare to what Rakim has done, btw, LL is as versatile as FP is on the mic I don't think there's a song that LL can't do, he could drop some knowledge on the track, but it's great as it is already.

oh i voted for jay z, and i have heard rakim's stuff, Jay z does the same what every other rapper u name does, talk about his life, clamin he ain't good enough, whats jay z done that rakim hasnt, became a preisednt of def jam/roc a fella, succesfull clothing line, roc a wear, successfull platnuim albums, part owner of a new york sports team,

Jay z is an inspiration to me, and i think a will smith jay z track would be great to hear, just because jay z doesnt spit as much knowledge as LL, Rakim, etc, because he makes his life, all rappers are writing a story to tell us, and hip hop is the greatest forms of story telling ever, whoever u hear in hip hop, somehow and someway they are telling you a story about what happened to them, what happened to a friend, etc,

The real question is whether or not you really think Jay deserves to be on the Lost and Found track more than any of the other emcees in this poll. This isn't just a "who would you like Will to do a song with" poll or a "Will should do a song with your favorite rapper" poll. This is a specific track with a specific message. In all honesty, Jay's credibility on the specific subject matter that the Lost and Found track deals with doesn't measure up to that of either Mos Def or Rakim. They just have more credibility on the issue because it's really their genre of specialty. As a result, they both deserve to sound off on the issue that Will addresses on the Lost and Found track more than Jay does.

And what's more... if we're going to be honest about it, Jay should be replaced by Nas on this poll with the quickness. Really... LL can be replaced as well. Real talk.

I'd use LL for a remix of a song like "Could U Love Me."  His specialty is love songs and this would be perfect.  "Lost and Found" has too dark a tone for LL...

That's just as dumb as sayin' Will's speciality is just party songs, LL's more versatile than love songs, listen to his albums, he's done conscious songs like "Power Of God", "Father", "Big Momma"(Unconditional Love),"Crossroads" and "Can't Think", btw check out these lyrics from "Can't Think":

[LL Cool J]

You ever get to the point where you so frustrated

you ready to give up?

You ready to end it all?

Don't do it dog, word up

I don't care if you black, white, latin, asian, whatever

We all go through pain

When you can't think.. use your soul baby

Preliminary discussions is over with, the verdict is in

I took the rap throne back

I reigned like krills in eighty-seven, my name is on the map

It feels like a razor down the middle of my back

They slept on my lyrical ability to blow

Gave another nigga credit for inventin my flow

I'm a child of God, witness the risin son

From the cradle to the grave, I remain number one

This thing of ours, got competition takin red showers

Grievin mothers callin 1-800-Flowers

My repoitoire burn your ashes in the urn

Is it God or money that really make the world turn?

Grab your gun, seperate the ones from the real funds

Inhale deep and hold it in your lungs

The streets was requestin some original LL

A soundtrack for niggaz that was raised in {hell}

They lookin for a leader that can guide 'em through the maze

Smoke filled rooms, breathin in purple haze

Po' nigga's on the bricks his whole life

He ain't got nuttin to live for, so f****n' livin right

But if you stay in the rain like hurricane

Gold melts down but it don't fear flames

Toxic, lethal, psychologically evil

Genocide was committed on the black people

And the ghetto is a trap with glass walls

Should I sell drugs, be a rap thug, or play ball?

We end up in the grave anyway

The average cat and LL Cool J

It's a never ending cycle, life and death

Until then may my mic stay blessed, to the death

Chorus: LL Cool J

I CAN'T THINK! Why do I feel I'm losin my mind?

I CAN'T THINK! Could it be the ill beats and rhymes?

I CAN'T THINK! Even though I'm a one of a kind

I CAN'T THINK! I want the paper, that's just the bottom line

I CAN'T THINK! Mo' murder every day around the way

I CAN'T THINK! I'd rather get paid and parlay

I CAN'T THINK! It's all about survival God

{*scratched* - "You know the epilogue by James Todd" - Biggie Smalls}

[LL Cool J]

Put your life on the line, you runnin out of time

The coroner's callin, she know she on a nigga mind

Amongst the dogs, real cats is hard to find

Even a nigga MOMS hate it when he start to shine

Get the money and run, dodge the devil and his sons

Spit powerful parables like a sermon has begun

F*** the turntables up, leave the DJ awestruck

Attitude is WHAT, keep the razor blade tucked

Too much flossin'll get your reputation touched

Too much rappin'll get your big mouth shut

Protect your neck nigga, you'll get it in the gut

You wearin a vest? What if you get your throat cut

Sold your soul for a dollar, now you havin bad luck

Used to keep a bad bitch in the crib baggin up

Player here, player there, nigga turned you out

but never told you beware

Never told you that black love supposed to be shared

and you never judge a woman by the texture of her hair

Fancy cars and gold teeth, G-strings and things

The almighty dollar replace the wedding ring

The Ark of the Covenant was held by a king

I ain't tradin my soul in for skins and chrome rims

Chorus

[LL Cool J]

Think about it yo, think about it

Think about it yo, think about it

Think about it yo, think about it

Think about it yo, think about it!

The dawn, of a new millenium, came to pass

The world revolves around sex or cash

The black man's motto, "Kiss my ass!"

Shorties in kindergarten are strapped, ready to blast

All I ever seen was killers and dopefiends

From FEDS Magazine to the heart of killer Queens

Bronx and Brooklyn and everything up in between

No matter what, you always got a Judas on your team

Givin it to the world and I'm tellin it like it is

Tossin lyrical daggers and sendin em in your wig

Know where the body's buried, I ain't sayin where it is

Raised inside the ghetto, but damnit I WANNA LIVE!

The legendary master of lyrical combat

But ain't no competition, ain't nobody to go at

So I'ma take the time and spit a universal verse

Hit the streets with a blessin and erase the curse

Chorus

I still would want Rakim as #1 choice but you can't say LL is one dimensional.

And I'm sorry to anyone that said Jay can't be compared to LL, LL had his time, that time has passed. LL's last two albums, are PRIME EXAMPLE of someone doing WHAT sells blatantly.  The album before that, G.O.A.T also shows that LL is reaching hard as hell to prove that he still has his 'street cred', even though its hard to even take him serious with it.

LL is at peace with himself now, he don't have to battle other rappers now if he don't want to, but if anyone comes after him, he could still end their careers. Did you actually listen to his last 2 albums? Even his worst albums "14 Shots To The Dome" and "10" are above average, he never came out with a garbage album. He still has a lot of skill left, "Feel The Beat" has more punchlines than Jay-Z' whole catalog in my opinion and how the hell could Jay-Z beat LL when he can't even beat Nas? :

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

[VERSE 1]

When Def Jam signed me

They hit the lottery

It wasn't free but don't call it a robbery

They underestimated me quite possibly

It's like that when you a godfather B

I'm the greatest of all time

You heard that before

But now when I say it

It means so much more

Cause It's so true

No hype man, No crew

No reason for ghost writers

Every year I get tighter

Mothers and daughters agree I'm on fire

Check ya T-Mobile it's all over the wire

Cross ya legs baby hide ya desire

You think I'm hot

You preaching to the choir

Smiling and giggling

Thirsting like Gilligan

More flavor than cinnamon

They rush with adrenaline

I make 'em nervous

I do it on purpose

I come back hotter

Every time I resurface

Drop to ya knees baby

Praise the king

Now ask Russell Simmons

Who built the west wing

I ain't gotta be cocky

I do the damn thing

Paint ya girl with strawberry frosting

Internationally known and respected

You talk slick I'm too large to be affected

You crank call my cells disconnected

You keep slipping but my games perfected

[HOOK]

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

[VERSE 2]

I'm a star for real my aura is crazy

Hollywood love me in the streets I'm gravy

Born with a gift to inspire the hood

You wanna out do me and I wish you would

I'm the master separate from all these cats

I'm laughin in '86 I balled like that

Honey catching feeling from sittin in Maybachs

Cause her project hall is smelling like Ajax

That's understandable but everybody relax

Hate when folk get money and don't know how to act

I'm a multi millionaire homey that's a fact

But it's not the ice that makes ya wife react

Been had an entourage and platinum cards

Been getting swedish massage in Boca Raton

What you think all them years I ain't pop no Don

Spend a night in Trump Towers with a blue eyed blonde

I been did it all my Benzes was kitted

When you talk like a baller you tickle me with it

But yeah there's money out there come on lets get it

But I'm a get it in such a way you never forget it

Let's go twenty platinum albums in a row

Sixty thousand fans a three hour show

I could care less who drop and blow

My name is LL baby that's beyond the flow

[HOOK]

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

[VERSE 3]

These rap cats get upset with me

When security clear out the V.I.P

If honey wanna lounge we gone see ID

Ain't no negotiating you gone pay my fee

I'm the boss I call the shots to keep it hot

I don't have competition I'm bigger than the slot

While you waste advances on grey market rocks

I cop municipal bonds and Wal Mart stocks

A family man but hard as a rock

And I die for my kids so stay off my block

They might be impressed with you but I'm not

After all these years I still walk with a bop

Still keep the ink hot

Still scheme like a fox

Still ready to battle

You don't want your career stopped

Industry shocked cause I mapped out a plot

And ran around humble with my joint on cock

[HOOK]

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

Uh yes yes y'all feel the beat y'all

Freak freak y'all

You don't stop

After hearing all the crap on the radio, how could honestly say LL's washed up? :hilarious: I wasn't gonna say anymore, but you gotta respect LL for what's he's done, it's not like Jay-Z' gonna still put out a great album 10 years from now, LL probably still will be putting out more great albums as long as he's still living, stop hating on the legends.

Yepp, LL's cool! I like him alot but Jay-Z is pretty ok man, I think he's aight! :werd:

This is no offense to Jay-Z but even he admits that he looks up to LL Cool J, Jay-Z has some skills but he ain't LL, LL's been out for 20 years ballin' since Jay-Z was a teenager and is still on top, he has 10 platinum albums under his belt, it'd be 11, but he took time off to work on a #1 movie comin' out this weekend and is a family man so raising his kids is most important to him, he's a champion like Will in no matter what he does, he set the standard for entrepeneurisms in hip-hop and still is, like a said before to say Jay-Z is a bigger legend than LL is like sayin' Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan, only time'll tell, LL's still doing his thing and is not retired yet so I don't think it's fair to write him off.

To bigted:

I agree that LL isn't one dimensional ("Father" is one of my favorite tracks of his), I think that someone along the lines of Rakim, Mos Def, or Nas would be suited better. What I meant to say before is that I like LL better when he's rappin a love song ("Hey Lover"), and that I would love to see him on a song like "Could U Love Me". There is just too many other people who could be better on "Lost and Found" than LL.

BTW, LL Cool J IS a legend.

I think LL has the same problem that Will has sometimes, he doesn't release a lot of his great tracks as singles, "Can't Think" would've propelled "G.O.A.T." past "Marshall Mathers LP" if it was released around the same time as "Stan", but unfortunately he released the song with Kelly Price that was possibly the weakest track on the album. :nono:

Yea of course LL is cooler than Jay-Z! I just wanted to say that Jay-Z is pretty ok, nothing more... I thought u don't like him at all, u know! And Lebron isn't betta than Jordan either! But I think he'll be betta some day... :sonny:

with the lost and found track in mind LL would rock that best.

LL was around to start Hip Hop, he is still here and has skillz as diverse as FP (it just happens his best known songs are for the ladies). it is important to remember that because he was there for the beginning of hip hop

LL can tell us all what hip hop is. what it meant back then and how it should be, and is dropping tracks like the 'The Truth' which hits at these sorts of issues.

i say this even though i never was a fan of the real 'old skool' hip, i only got into it because of the songs wen i was growing up in the early 90's, and today mainly listen to LL's new stuff.

mos def is cool and spits knowledge, but rakim would be better than him on this track also, for similar reasons above, but, LL and FP could have real chemistry, it needs energy between them like Dre has with Em on the Encore track. where every few lines the mic is passed round. (i kno i said this before but it needs to be said as this poll is turning into a popularity contest)

but regardless of what the remix should be like, i would be glad for FP to do more remixes and mixtapes!!
