Mike
This is just a rhyme about the pressures of getting good grades and a little bit about america. "Future" Written by WILL IS ILL (Mike) It all started in about sixth grade When C's and B's were the grades i made Thats good to some and bad to others Good enough for me but not for my mother My mom was the good cop and told me to try When iy was my dad that got pissed and made me cry Every new marking period, I'd love but it was bad Another one down, but anothre report for my dad I did all i could to avoid him Hid and made the lights real dim Just to get away so i wouldnt get yelled at But he always lectured while i just sat And thought how i can make this go faster next time Why does he care so much? Its not his life its mine (Chorus) Better Start learning and tryin Insted of sayin i did it when i was just liein This is what matters the most in my life Good thing im strong and impenetrable to the knife I know God helped me through Casue without him i wouldnt know what to do All through my middle school career A talk from my dad was all i would hear Same exact talk i'd hear over and over I wanna get away and find a four leaf clover Cause i need some luck in my life with my grades Im playin life in poker, all i got is a jack, four, eight and a three of spades Which means i lose and life wins I wish i could do it all over and not commit those sins Id be a straight A loser like i was in MD Before i gained some popularity Its funny how desisions can change who you'll be Cause i got to get my life in order and i got to get some money If my futures the sky its not lookin too sunny Chorus Doin all i can to get a good grade Im goin to extra help like every day Casue high school is tuff, thats no lie Sometimes i wonder how i get by In the future causse you cant live off mediocre What would i do if my dad had a stroker'er, Got cancer? Cause i live in the United States of Money Our ways to the world look pretty damn funny Cause its so ridiculas, only savin lives for cash Costs me 60 bucks to have the doc check out a rash Now thats crazy, we gotta get our priorites straight Looks like livin a life of poverty will be my fate The best job ill get will be to clean a pool I better get good at beggin cause im not gonna make it outta high school Chorus (x2) Edited May 12, 2005 by WILL IS ILL
Mike
The last verse has me rhymeing grade with day, its all a matter of how you say grade, almost without the "de" at the end. Just so you can read it how its supposed to be said

mfuqua23
No matter how U read it, that was a good rhyme. U don't have to rhyme every single line. The whole song flowed well. And deep chorus too. Nice idea. :thumb:
