"Wannabe"

What's up y'all, here's a song I wrote a few weeks ago:

”Wannabe”

Written By Big Ted

Chorus:

You're a wannabe, when will you learn(LL Cool J)*Scratched

Verse One:

Yeah critics have their minds into talk

I can hear them already sayin' that I lost

Before the 1st game began you put rumors of me moving soft

See as a creator, a new lesson is in the bowl like broth

Now or later this game will come around a new path to walk

I like to do my moves silent

You always mention how you're so violent

But then you turn around to expire a bit

While I burn the ground through writing a hit

I'm underground but I'm still not limited

I keep an eye out for what you're doin'

Even though I don't go around mimmicking it

I take times out to look at the scripture to win

You look at my pad and could never picture this

Written by your average human being

I put in words of truth not a made up image

This isn't a comic book

And I plot to look

On the opposite spot for the goods

You won't see me havin' Nikes on my foot

But I see you owning plenty, how could you be 'hood?

Walkin' down the street at night sportin' them'll get you shook

I'm smarter than you when it comes to that look

I'm fashionless so I'll manage to win

I'm hip-hop without wearing name brand clothing

You say that you're gangsta but then you can't even stomach a horror flick at the mall

You talkin' like you have it all

You copy all your rappin' from 2Pac and Biggie Smalls

No different than the rest of them

I'm truly one of the few creative heads left

You think I'm takin' a dismissal

When I let you go on the air about pistols

But now I'm back again and now this is the issue

I'll challenge you to a duel

But you won't show, why don't you go home?

And let a real mc spark the microphone

You just started rhymin', but I've been doing this since I was 15 years old

I don't get how you could get signed

Doin' these soft tissue rhymes

The girl that you're wit is one of those sluts that'll give it easily to any guy

So you'll be contracting HIV that'll end your life

You think you're so slick that all your problems will slide

Makin' up your fantasy rhymes

I keep my tales on the reality side

As an mc you fail 'cause you freeze durin' crunch time

One of those wannabes I used to eat durin' lunch time

That I used to battle in high school using supreme punch lines

You thought that I was just jokin but now you could see the tough style

It wasn't a front, I don't have to say I got a gun

To win and I don't have to have a blunt

When I'm already high off of having fun

I don't have to say things I don't mean

I don't have to have bling-bling even when I have luxury

It's not an essential

As long as I'm still plottin' like a rebel

To knock out the devil

Then I think I got on a higher level

Like my man Kris Parker

You didn't think I could jam this harder

I'm more clutch with my slams than Vince Carter

Controllin' end zones like Cris Carter

I don't have to live a “hard knock life” like Sean Carter

And I don't plan on puttin' down my microphone just 'cause I'm smarter

It's the end for your hard headed role

Someone's comin' to take your part, you gotta go,when you only act like you're a street rapper[Repeat Chorus]

Verse Two:

Real gangstas don't boast

They'll just blaze ya full of gun smoke

I see you son, braggin' about smokin' dro

But what happens when you get throat cancer, how will you flow?

See I could sound like the others on the radio

And make a million and hump any girl I want on the road

But what good would that be for our boys and girls to grow?

They'll imitate that, then another generation's crashed

So I'd rather pave a path

I see the intellectual thoughts that KRS-ONE and Chuck D have expressed

Their music is like a class full of knowledge and I wanna help build on that

You wonder why I write so many songs so fast?

I think about life and how I could improve spiritually beyond cash

At the same time earn enough so I don't have to beg

Like you do 'cause what you say, the promises you break

The false move you do, for a clump of cake

I listen to what all you politicans say

And I have some subjects for you to discuss on your debate

Why don't you stop criticizing entertainment

'Cause I see you're also in the limelight entertaining

I don't feel enlightened over what you're saying

That's why I study the bible, 'cause that's the only way I'll make it

[Repeat Chorus]

Verse Three:

In my life it's a constant battle between tryin' to be rich and righteous

Sometimes like Nas I want money to be my bitch

But then I want to bring to life what I'm expressin'

'Cause we all go through the cycle

To makin' moves earnin' piles of doe

Then havin' most of it sniffed up our nose

So much money to go around

The children are dyin' while me and this dime and going down

Who wasn't around me when my moments were down

See I'm now like the rest of them

Wannabe ranked among the best of them

Now she wants to sex me up in the Benz

Is that the life that I really want to live?

Is it worth to wannabe like them?

To get burned out and people'll be askin' “Where is he now?”

Hell no, I'm staying underground forever

When I'm gone you'll see that what I write down is like a letter

I'm leavin' it beyond so the youngeons could find how if could be better

The counterfeits who went platinum during my lifetime will get questioned

When I live and died the words of my poems

Throughout eternity the world will be bumping my spirit

Longer 'cause I ain't doing this for lust

I play the game the truest for love

See I didn't plan to just lay around all day wasting time to just f*** sluts

I did my work and went home and chilled reading scriptures

Then came up to complete the mission through deep words

See go ahead and be a wannabe for 5 years and get kicked to the curb

Sooner or later it'll be my turn

In my afterlife I'll return

Y'all wannabes are gonna get hurt

[Repeat Chorus Till End]

"I think about life and how I could improve spiritually beyond cash" - that was a deep line.

Nice follow ups wit the 2nd and 3rd verse. How exactly is that chorus? R U quotin' LL Cool J, or is his name said in it?

Thanks for the feedback fuq, if I record this song I'd sample LL's voice as the hook, that was a quote from "Rock The Bells"(You're a wannabe when will you learn?/wannabe like cool j gotta wait ya turn!)
