bigted
What up y'all I've been digging through my book of rhymes and came across this song called "Personalities" I wrote about 3 years ago, check it out : "Personalties" Written By Big Ted Verse One: I shouldn't doubt who I am I should be proud of who I am I shouldn't let the world decide how I'm a man 'Cause not out for my benefit If I don't shout out a care in it I need to be showin' how I'm now winnin' When I don't hold myself back Measuring myself against what others done is wack I'm not trying to boast at all I'm just trying to hold on tall That's what my personality is made of I got that energy to stay up My plot is specifically built to play tough Even if I gain victory, others will still say stuff But I have to ignore that I can't hold back I ask myself: why do I keep rappin'? It's a task in itself, but maybe it's also a deep passion It's not about the cash or the wealth, if I had it Or not I'd see myself still keep rappin' I can't get weaker When I nod my head to the speaker I like the hardcore beats When I rhyme, my heart pumps more beats That's how I feel, you n'ah mean For me rap's real, it's my freedom of speech It's in my... Chorus: Personality We all have one Personality Is who we are and where we came from Personality I'm glad I have my own Personality Verse Two: Yo, it's hard 'cause of the propaganda Y'all try to be stars so the world will stand ya You can't see far with the ill demandings It's hard to find the will of understanding That you can't be who that person is You can find that to be hurting 'Cause you can't recognise that you're a unique person You don't have to compete with the other person You ain't gonna win all the time Nobody in the game's gonna win all the time You have to find what you're good at You can't hold your word bac You have to show the world your own stand On how you feel 'bout situations On how you deal around confrontations On how you're real now on demonstrations When you display your creation Represent your way to the nation Don't get afraid to be accepted Give your say and you'll be respected Do somethin' that your people will be proud of Doin' nothin' looks weaker, you got to be found tough We ain't all gonna be famous So it's important to know that there's other ways to get your say in Don't feel that your life is wasted Just be yourself, nobody can replace... [Repeat Chorus] Verse Three: As the years go on It's get more clear to roll on Ain't no time to fear, you gotta flow strong You watch time pass on And you see that you lose loved ones Due to the fact that time don't stand still Remember that time could run out, before all your plans are fullfilled You have to keep the good memories In order to be in the world surviving All the hurt comes rising It's important to hold on to what's positive A lot of nonsense makes everythin' far from positve You gotta make some sense to create some knowledge Even if you have money for college You can't worry 'bout it We ain't gonna all be millionaires It's more important to have the will to share And respect that we won't always agree Let's not bring violence into degree Let's stop the violence when we disagree There's too many people in this world That can be on my nerves Not everyone will like me And my personality I can't let 'em overwhelm me I don't wanna bring drama on my family And act around 'em all pissy That's wack and doesn't represent me Life's too short for me to change Into something that'll make me look strange I need to be myself and I'll be ok That's right, I love my...[Repeat Chorus]
mfuqua23
"It's a task in itself, but maybe it's also a deep passion" - dope line "We ain't all gonna be famous So it's important to know that there's other ways to get your say in" - really sticks out That was a nice song overall. I think with the right beat, it could really uplift people's spirits who aren't sure they like who they are. Your so much like your role models. Making songs, and years from now, they are still relevant in the present day. Funny, I was diggin thru my rhymebooks last nite as well. bigted
Yeah this song feels like I wrote it yesterday, it's like I saw kids in my high school tryin' to be somebody else that they weren't and I felt like I needed to address that, I always try to be who I am and not change who I am, thanks for the feedback!
